Unfortunately, getting older has some drawbacks. Some health issues were one of mine, somewhat limiting what I could and couldn't do. From the first deep cleaning day,which in and of itself was amazing The team came in and literally cleaned every square inch,top to bottom of my apartment. I guess it's been about a year, maybe longer. They arrive when they are scheduled for and get right to work. No gibber jabber amongst themselves, no playing on cell phones,just work until the jobs complete. I'm not a very trusting person by nature, everyone is suspect in my eyes. That being said although I'm normally here for the cleaning I have absolutely no problems having them here if I'm not. As for the office staff and owner? Amanda and Nicole are probably two of the most kind, compassionate people I've had the privilege to know. They obviously know how to efficiently run a business and do so successfully. I'm proud to be part of their a la maid family and appreciate what the two of them have done for me in an effort to make life a bit easier. I give the company 5 plus stars and recommend to anyone needing this type of professional service to give the office a call. Thank for everything Amanda,Nicole and my cleaning team. I agreed to remove my negative review of A la Maid as I said I would do so the owner of the company's husband could continue to work for and together with my husband. After I took down all my reviews on FB & Yelp Amanda still wouldn't let her husband work for mine. Which is fine b/c we found an excellent and caring replacement for him. Kinda sad Amanda made him lose out on $12k worth of work so far. Seriously, over an easily correctable over charge on her part, but she just wouldn't admit to her mathematical mistake. Time to repost to protect all of you from this two faced, somewhat vicious, so called family ran business. They have the ability to over charge you b/c they won't come clean without already taking your credit card information along with a pile of paperwork that they don't read. Matt came out to my house and gave me a verbal quote of $280-$350 and charged me $450. They charged me their Saturday ($50hr) rate on a Thursday for a light dusting of wainscoting & crown. When I caught it they changed and extended the amount of hours they were at my house -nice try! Their base rate is $45hr for light cleaning with no special attention areas. Trying to get a receipt out of this place is practically impossible! They require so much paperwork, but make it a chase to get any from them. Amanda claims their high prices are b/c they are insured like they are so special for covering their own butt. We have a small service business and we are insured and it doesn't cost that much and set us so far apart that we feel we need to constantly remind our clients. If your business is legal and you have a handful of employees working for you on properties then insurance is a given these days. Amanda likes to insult and tell her customers that they are confused when she has no business sense or clarity of her own. The cleaning crew is nice and did a good job. It's the dishonest management that will eventually put them out of business. Amanda will chime in here shortly to bash my review and struggle to defend herself even when it's right here in black and white. The images are the dialogue from my previous Yelp that she told me to remove along with her original replies. She continues to address my name incorrectly and thinks she needs to assist in my math, which is just another additive to her insulting demeanor. The house needed a deep clean and beyond. Well, a la maid delivered and then some. Heather and her crew are amazing. I could not be happier. Years of dust and man dirt are gone. They got on their hands and knees and scrubbed everything. My floors look like new. My cabinets are sparkling. Everything was steamed and wiped down. I give them a million stars. Don't ever use these people. I hired them to clean a house and they quoted me $600 to do a thorough cleaning. This is a lot of money to clean one time, and I expected a great job. I got an average job and they missed a lot of things. After the job I met with Barbara, a manager, and whenever I pointed out things they missed, she argued with me. I finally gave up. I spoke with Amanda, the owner, who was just as rude and argumentative. They tried to bill me almost $900. When I told them I wasn't paying this outrageous bill, they called the police. I started A La Maid because, based on their name and motto, I hoped to be able to tailor the services to my needs. I even had them clean my office. Unfortunately, my expectations didn't match their ability to deliver. The one thing that was most important to me was consistency. To keep this short, that's not what I got. Arrival time & same crew were critical to me, and if that matters to you, it's just not possible. The staff turnover, or other issues, seemed to interfere most of the time. I just want to say that I found this company on the internet and I had a very unusual and unpleasant experience. I feel that everyone should be aware. I hired this company to clean and in the booking process was provided pages of legal documentation that was required to be completed. The cleaning was confirmed pending this paperwork. The paper work consisted of all the information on the home location lock box code credit card information (which they said I could phone in) When the paperwork arrived via email I asked if I could fax it back and asked them to provide a fax number in writing. (THIS WAS PROVIDED THE WRONG FAX) HOW DOES A COMPANY THAT HAS SO MUCH PAPER WORK TO SIGN NOT HAVE THE FAX NUMBER PRINTED ON THE PAPERWORK.?) This was a bad situation I faxed all the pertinent information to the wrong number. and received the confirmation that it was delivered. So the day progressed by having to cancel my credit card and drive 1 hour to change the lock box code. I got a very uneasy feeling how do you let people in your home to clean and not be concerned? I did it myself................I only got an I am sorry nothing about let us make it up to you let us pay for the gas and the time off from work to correct your error. I have been using A La Maid for well over a year. I have yet to have the same crew twice, although the crew chief repeats. How can a crew clean a house they are not familiar with? Their arrival time is a 2-hour window, so I can make no plans for anything. When they leave, I have about two hours of cleaning what they left out from the work order they bring with them. Toilet brushes are dry (thus unused), there are dust rings on the furniture, streaks on glass, dirt left on floors, etc. etc. And for this, they get top dollar. When I called to complain, I was told that I was too "negative" and I should pay them more compliments. One crew member today, assigned to the powder room, did virtually nothing. He walked around with a Swiffer duster, passing it sooooo slowly over vertical surfaces that don't even need dusting, and failing to clean the essentials. Some cleaners who have come have been good, others totally useless, and no way to choose who comes. I am tired of paying for work that is not done, so I have terminated my relationship with this firm. read more

WARNING no-No STAR available. RUN, Thus company is very deceitful and lazy. After major neck surgery I hired this "company" to clean my entire house. I was told 10 hours would do it They had three of the laziest girls I have ever seen in a so called cleaning co, Well my 10 hours of cleaning was 3 1/2 hours . 3 girls X 3 1/2 hrs= 10 hours................what! they cleaned 2 baths and one bedroom. My 2000' ranch has 2 1/2 baths, 3 bedrooms, kitchen and family room combined as dining living combined. Came @11 am left 1:30 PM. I asked why are you leaving and they said the DID 10 HOURS. I really cried and said you didn't even touch the kitchen. They said they can do 1 1/2 hours more. After only 1/2 hour hours they said they are leaving. Now you do the math. I was taken advantage of and complained. No results. I wrote BBB and Consumer protection. Alma Maid wanted pictures of what they did do I said was crappy and still dirty, after surgery the last I needed was this. I took a bunch of pictures never sent BECAUSE I WAS SICK FROM MAJOR SURGERY. I have them and will get to it. I told them I don't want to pay but to be fair I'll pay half. They said pay all now. I said I'll get a lawyer and they said they have more. So I paid 540.00 plus tax. BAD, BAD people. BBB and Consumer Protection were written but I got no where since I signed a contract. A deceitfully written contract. RUN! Sue S. read more

As an employee from the start of business 10 years ago, left due to moving, and then as an employee 8 years later in 2016, as a supplemental job to my primary, I have to say Amanda B., the owner, has mounted tremendous herds. The pay was fair, the mileage reimbursement sufficed, and the management team was well coordinated with payroll. Which is the most important for any employee at any job. Amanda started off scrubbing the floors herself, with myself and others. Eight years later, she has chosen to oversee the office side of the business, and put her faith in carefully selected veteran team leaders to oversee each individual project. She is super consistent in sending the same team to the homes/offices every time. Although there were some hiccups during my employment periods, its wasn't anything out of the ordinary and were promptly rectified. Smoking is NOT permitted anywhere near the clients' homes/offices. Very few of the employees smoke as it is, so this was never an issue. Highly recommended to anyone who takes pleasure in hospitality, growth, or supplemental income. read more
