I had a home birth, Carol was my midwife and Renee was her assistant, they were extremely professional and Carol is such an amazing midwife, experienced and knowledgeable. I had a water birth, a 100% natural, and my experience was beautiful. I had a healthy and strong baby, my first baby at 37 after 12 hrs labor work and she didn't even have to stitch me up, I had a speedy recovery and my baby is a month already. Carol also educated me with breastfeeding. I'm so grateful I found them, I'll miss them for sure!

Absolutely amazing!…read more I cannot say enough about every aspect of their operation, from the kind knowledgable staff to the classes and overall information they provided. My wife really wanted a different birthing experience as we originally started off at a OBGYN office and were not happy with the basic care provided. Many times people get very nervous with using a birthing center over a hospital but after your first visit with them this will all go out the door. They provide you with so much more information and care than other provider's and truly make it a whole new level of experience. They go far beyond the basic care a typical provider gives. They focus on the mothers overall health (since it greatly effects the baby), from their diet, how much they are being active, how much knowledge they have, and give you so many resources/exercises to prepare your body for the process. Versus a normal practice where they just give you basic care and handle things as they come up at birth vs being preventive from the start. This experience was everything my wife wanted and more. Being first time parents we were very nervous coming into the process but are beyond ecstatic with the experience and the amazing staff at this center. If your plan is to have a natural birth then this is undoubtedly the place for you.

Boca Midwifery IS the place to go for childbirth. This is what women's care should feel like and be…read morelike. Summarized version: I had my dream birth, VBAC, with an amazing team of women -- Courtney and Nikki (2-for-1 haha). I came here like many others for a chance at a VBAC (vaginal birth after c section). I live in Davie and decided that a 35 min drive would be worth it for my pregnancy! After my first daughter's prenatal care and birth, convenience was no longer worth it to me. -- For my second birth, I wanted to do things differently. The first thing I needed to do was hire a doctor. So, I went with the most recommended doctor to me in Broward for VABCS, Dr. Skeete, and I'm glad it didn't work out, then met with "Dr" Anghel in Weston (see my review on him), third I met with Boca Babes (good contender) and lastly met with Boca Midwifery and they blew me away! I started my visit with Dr. Nicole Tenzel and she was SO sweet and caring. I didn't feel like a number. She actually listened to my story and my wishes. We had a few more visits and I was looking forward to the rest... however, my heart was set on midwives but I didn't know if I'd be able to because of type 1 Diabetes... (considered high risk). Then, I received a message that Dr. Tenzel would no longer be at the office (by the time my baby would be born) due to a state move. I would need to meet with Dr . Lubetkin. I was a little scared due to a few reviews I read, so I brought my husband to the visit since he has a pretty good judgement of character for people. We visited with him and he too was great! His daughter is a T1D and is not scared of pregnancy and diabetes...however, my heart was still set on Midwifery. I then received a message from my birth photographer, Paulina Splechta (look her up) and she felt she needed to nudge me to inquire about working with Courtney because she believed I would love her and my birth.... So I made the call and my next appointment was set. I was super excited to meet with Courtney. The day came and She was SO kind to me, listened to my story, my needs and concerns and then gave it to me straight -- she would need to have a conversation with the rest of the team (midwives) to see if they felt comfortable managing me with my diabetes and if any complications arose, Dr. lubetkin would take over. I waited weeks for the call and apparently I missed it, but then I found a voicemail and it said that they agreed to seeing me. I felt such a sense of relief I met with Ryan and Nikki afterwards and honestly... you can't just choose 1. They're all amazing in their own way. I felt comfortable with all 3. Unfortunately the high risk doctor recommended induction before 40 weeks, my blood pressure had been running a little higher than normal (I wasn't checking it at home) and so I agreed to getting checked at the hospital. Nikki had a conversation with me with what felt like a friend / mother talking to me. Not a condescending doctor fearing me into compliance. The hospital checked me in and with delays and stuff... we decided to move forward with induction. Everything was fine with me (we found out after the delays) but we decided to stay and have my baby! After my water broke, everything moved VERY fast and I ended up with both Courtney and Nikki. Courtney is a rockstar. She handles herself so confidently and she knows what she's doing and allows others to support you and doesn't mind getting "dirty". She did cover her bases when things were looking aloof with my baby's heart rate and had the doctor on call at the room.... But, we changed positions 5 times to find one my baby liked and allowed her to descend and turn. My first birth only had 2-3 position changes and straight to a c-section it went. At the finish line when I was regretting not having an epidural, she reminded me WHY I chose that route and that was so powerful to be reminded of. Thank you! Nikki was such a cheerleader the whole time! She was so motivational to me and reminded me that I was made for this. If you've read this far --- they're a dream team if you can get more than 1! Courtney, Nikki or Ryan are amazing.

Midwife means - "with woman"…read more 3 years ago I gave birth at Boca Raton Regional Hospital with Boca Midwifery and Midwife Ryan attended my birth (though she was not the midwife scheduled to be there). Verbatim Ryan said she was "so tired she couldn't see straight", "working 24 hrs was the new hangover" and that I was her "last birth of her shift and she couldn't wait to go sleep". During labor and delivery she was not supportive (her choice of words, actively dismissing my researched and scientifically backed requests) or professional (blamed a nurse for a medication dosage she herself instructed me to take and inaccurate notes both in the hospital and out). After my birth and her stitching me while "hungover from working 24 hrs" and verbalizing "I can't see" (and then doing nothing about it) I was left with permanent physical and nerve damage- Confirmed by multiple OBGYNs, Neurologists and one of the countries best Pelvic Surgeons. At my 6 week appointment I mentioned something was wrong with me and was brushed off. I did get a text from Ryan apologizing for my "bad experience". I knew the day I birthed my son that my life would change, I never expected for it to be something like this. Ryan thanked me for "not being her first emergency section" then thanked herself "for saving me". Ryan ruined my life. The reality is that without intervention I can't have sex, can't carry a pregnancy, and can't even sit comfortably. Because of this, my marriage, job, and the ability to enjoy intimacy have been effected...Not to mention the financial strain of over $100,000 in medical care I am still receiving due to the "husband stitch" I didn't ask for, consent to, or even know I received. I should have stood up for myself from the second she said she was that tired but I trusted she was "with woman" To the women who had positive experiences, I am glad you were safe and supported. For the people who have met me in the real world and asked my opinion on this practice, I tried to protect you and in turn protected them ... and I am so so sorry.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE: They could not perform ultrasounds when I went, requiring visits to the associated OB or even the ER in urgent situations. Spent 4 hours and tons of tears in the ER because heartbeat was not detected due to this lack of in-office capability. All my medical concerns and discomfort during pregnancy were repeatedly dismissed and met with "pregnancy is uncomfortable", basically deal with it. This led to missed and delayed diagnoses, including unmanaged levels and late-detected anemia. Insensitive comments about my weight had me feeling body-shamed during pregnancy. I was once asked if I noticed the beautiful thin pregnant patient in waiting room because she was great! During my quick labor and once she actually acknowledged my pain, asking if I wanted epidural, it was too late. At one point, she yelled at me to shut up. My postpartum appointment was impersonal; she did not remember basic details about me and also asked the gender of my child she had just delivered. It was laughed off as she was so busy, how could she remember them all. The associated OB she must work with to overlook her patients, Dr. Cantero, provided rushed, impersonal care. We received quick ultrasounds without much explanation or even time to enjoy the experience. He left the room so fast once, leaving the door wide open while I was reclined half naked in the chair needing help to get up. Worst of all, he incorrectly gave us our baby's gender ensuring he was "99% sure." I still STRONGLY advise choosing a qualified OB over midwifery, especially if complications or health concerns arise. Nelly lacked empathy (possibly the knowledge) and care to send me high-risk help in my situation. With such great reviews on both providers, I felt the need to leave my honest, detailed experience hoping it helps someone. High ratings don't always mean high quality, especially when those reviews lack detail.

My husband and I came to TGP just for information on hospital birth and ended up being blessed in so many ways by the employees there. After meeting and becoming informed by Michelle, one of the owners, we decided to hire a doula in order to have assistance during the birth of our first baby. Their doula services come at different prices in order to ensure that everyone from varying financial backgrounds can have access to this vital service. Our doula, Florencia, was a rock for us during the birth. She kept me focused and ensured that I got the birth that I wanted for baby and me. All the doula services come with access to three very informative classes. Take advantage of these and their very knowledgeable team! We learned so much and met other families going through this experience. It was wonderful. I can't say enough and express how grateful I am to these ladies. They made the community real for me when I didn't think it possible. I had arranged to have the two female doctors at the practice I used be available to assist my birth. The day I went into labor, my doctor and her backup became unavailable. Leaving me to their male doctor who had been particularly unkind to me at previous visits. I was a wreck laboring thinking he would be at the delivery. My doula contacted the owners at TGP and they made magic happen. Through their help I was seen and had my baby delivered at the hospital by an amazing midwife. My situation may not be common but their assistance was amazing and made the community of women empowering child birth real to me. It goes without saying my husband and I couldn't be more grateful for their services. Our little baby boy was born healthy, naturally, and drug free this past May.

At 34 weeks, my doula contacted me via EMAIL to inform me she was moving out of state and no longer able to attend my birth or provide postpartum support. Frantically I tried to find a new doula but at that point there weren't many options and I did not have anytime to build rapport. They gave me an alternate doula who was listed as a level I (I paid for level IV) and then tried to suggest that their website was not up to date. They were also impossible to get in touch with and only communicated by text and email. I ended up not being able to have any doula support at very complicated early induction due to preeclampsia where I ended up having every intervention under the sun short of a c section to make sure my daughter could be safely delivered. My daughter just came home from nicu and I have no postpartum support - my family does not live near me and with the covid resurgence they are not able to come - another reason why I wanted a doula. The kicker is, the Gathering Place won't even give me a full refund after all of this. If having a doula is an important part of your birth plan or postpartum plan, I would highly recommend going elsewhere to ensure you actually have one when your baby actually arrives.

Unfortunately, since the new owner, Gelena, took over, my experience was extremely disappointing. First, I was told they accepted my insurance (Ambetter), only to find out later they didn't. After weeks of fighting with the Marketplace to switch plans, I was told the new one wasn't accepted either. I ended up paying $5,000 out-of-pocket. Communication was another nightmare. The MobileMidwife app constantly malfunctioned, and emails were frequently missed or lost. I had to make a new email address just to keep up, and once I did, the app stopped working altogether. When labor started, I followed their "5-1-1" rule (contractions five minutes apart, lasting one minute) before heading to the center--but my labor moved too quickly. By the time my water broke, I couldn't leave the house. I ended up giving birth at home. Thankfully, the midwife made it just in time to deliver my baby--but I have a friend who also used them, and her neighbor had to deliver her baby because the midwife didn't arrive in time. To make matters worse, my baby's birth certificate listed the wrong address, and I spent weeks emailing back and forth to fix their mistake. This entire experience was stressful, disorganized, and far from the safe, empowering birth I was promised. Avoid this place at all costs.
