Charles is a nice guy, but he did a really shoddy, unprofessional job installing a screen door for me. I feel I have to give him a bad review as my only recourse. He installed the door so that it opened from the opposite side as the front door. This was very awkward and I was to the point of not being able to live with it. Then the whole door fell off! Turns out he didn't use long enough screws to keep the door in place. Looking more closely, I could see that he just used a variety of old screws he probably had laying around. Now I have to get the door reinstalled, but I definitely don't want Charles touching it. Money down the drain. read more

Follow-up review as I had some more work done: On March 19 I had some follow-up work to be done. I needed a lock installed my front gate, and earlier I had asked Charles if he had expertise in this area, and he assured me did. So he followed up a few days later telling me what specific lock I should order. Ultimately, this is not the correct lock, since I am unable to unlock it from inside my gate (it only opens from the outside). Lesson learned, make sure you on the same page with your contractor, even if you need to shell out more $ initially, it's worth it in the long run! But again, the contractor handled my other "to-do list" around the home, so I was happy about that, so if you stick to the basics you'll be fine. read more

I got a few things done by Charles in my home. - replace/fix the broken ceiling under bathroom - caulking the bathrooms Charles completed the things on time, was very sensible to my needs and finished the entire work before expected time, with good quality. The work included: - repairing a cracked under-mount sink (he went above and beyond to help me locate this special small-sized sink from a local vendor after Home Depot didn't have it in stock). This was also tricky because I wanted to retain the quartz counter-top and back-splash on the sink and it was installed improperly by the previous contractor. Another handyman told me it couldn't be done and I would need a new counter-top. - removing moldy old caulk and re-caulking all the bathrooms and kitchen sinks - repairing floor tile grout - re-screening 2 screens (sliding patio screen and a bedroom window screen) - fixing a damaged panel on my stovetop He was on time and also a great communicator.
