After doing so, he emailed me a bid for materials and labor. I let him know that I was happy to have him do the work. Tim is a solo act, so we had to wait our turn. I occasionally texted him just to ensure we were still on his radar. Tim was always responsive and when our job was next he let me know. Tim came exactly when he said he would to power wash the deck. He did a thorough and careful job. Tim returned the next day to do the staining. He did a magnificent job. His technique left our deck looking better than it ever has when we or another painter have done the staining. He also carefully applied the stain, protecting our flagstone walkway and house from splatter. My best advice is to plan ahead and call Tim for your painting and staining needs. You may have to wait to get your job done if he has other jobs already in the pipeline, but he is worth the wait. Tim's price was fair, he is a very pleasant person, and he does excellent work.

He explained that I should wait a few years, that the issues are minor and won't hurt my old growth redwood siding at all. If you are looking for an exceptional painter, look no further. We have had several homes painted both inside and out and own several rental properties, so we have worked with many painting contractors over the years. Hands down, Gregory and Transformational Color are at the absolute top of any of our future painting needs. Gregory's integrity stood out immediately. Our initial walk-around consultation was in November, and instead of rushing the job in poor weather, he thoughtfully suggested waiting until spring for the best results. True to his word, he proactively followed up in April with a scheduled color meeting and a comprehensive proposal. To be honest, I originally read about his "color session" with some skepticism, thinking it was just a simple meeting to pick colors. It is so much more than that. You have to live with these decisions, so it needs to be a truly considered process. Don't pass up on the opportunity to have Gregory pick your brain about it. It will be worth it, believe me. During our color consultation, he offered fantastic expert advice. We went through several color changes prior to making our final decisions. We actually ended up adding to and modifying the plan twice--once suggested by him and once requested by me--which included changing the color of the downspouts versus the corner boards, and finally changing the rain gutter color and some major panels in the front of the home. These final touches really made the overall job pop! Gregory accommodated all of these changes with absolutely no price increase. He had one fantastic crew member who did an incredible job managing most of the prep work, pressure washing, daily clean-up, and touch-ups. The Behr paint was a good match to the SW color that I wanted and looks great. They also took care of a peeling metal railing with new black paint in the bid. It was a very good experience.
