I was involved in a wreck on 1/27 and attempted to make a claim through Texas Rangers / Amex Auto Insurance. After days of getting nowhere by phone and email, I went into the office in person on 1/29 hoping for actual help. Instead, I was told there was nothing they could do. They said they couldn't assist with filing the claim, couldn't contact the third party company, and that they would "get in trouble" if they tried to help me beyond handing me a phone number and an email address both of which I had already called and emailed multiple times. Their only advice was to "keep calling" and "wait a couple of days," which is completely unacceptable when you're without a vehicle and need repairs handled promptly. No urgency, no advocacy, no customer service just excuses. This was an incredibly frustrating experience during an already stressful situation. I expected guidance and support, not to be brushed off and told to fend for myself. I do not recommend this insurance or office to anyone who expects real help when it actually matters. read more

DO NOT GET INSURANCE THROUGH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAMMERS** This company is the WORST I've ever experienced in customer service and communication! My husband got a quote for an auto policy since his prior company wanted to bump up his monthly premium astronomically. He paid the deposit and we got an email confirming the payment. A little bit later, we get a letter saying his policy has been cancelled. Besides the 1 email he got about confirming his payment, they did not ONCE send another email or letter warning him about the cancellation. I work in insurance so I called to ask why the policy was being cancelled. They advised that my husband never sent in photo of his truck. My husband showed me the email he sent to them weeks ago (which they of course never responded to either confirm they received the email or if anything further was needed). They continued to lie saying he never sent the email. Finally a different rep confirmed they DID get the email but in order to reinstate his policy we would need to request a new quote. We did and it of course was way higher than what we were originally quoted. Thanks to this awful company, his lienholder is now raising his monthly payment which we cannot afford because he was supposably uninsured for a period of time. Allll thanks to this company for cancelling him without notice. Now we are trying to get ahold of his declarations page and additional information to send to the lienholder and of course, this company refuses to respond to voicemails left, texts, emails, or even respond in a timely matter via the chat option they have on their website. When you do get thru to them, they tell you "you have to call that office.....your computers aren't linked? No, that office has your file.. " After exhausting failed phone attempts for info, ill try in person.... Pull up the website, find the one closest, here we go....11:15am on a Tuesday, go to the door....locked! (It's an official Amax office, signage, stickers, paint, etc.) I call the office where the website has the address...."I'm at your office in Grand Prairie. Im at your door & its locked! I've used A-Max in the past and had no problems. Lately, the girls answering the phones just don't GAF. They're rude and don't even try to help. I was quoted $128 down. I asked if there was anything less and was told nope! So I called someone else and got $89 down with the same monthly rate A-Max quoted me. Have never signed up for their text or mailing lists, never interacted with this company in ANY fashion. About 6 months ago I got dozens of phone calls from "A-Max Auto Insurance" from all over the country. I asked to be removed and blocked the numbers, only to get a call a few hours later from a different region. This continued for several days, probably at least 50 calls and texts. Finally it stopped. Over the weekend, the texts began again. I replied to remove me and received "yes sir." Yet today, I've already received two more calls from completely different area codes and numbers. Bought insurance from Amax for $90 for 1 month. They cancelled my policy but did not tell, but they kept the money. They'll refund $13 they said. I've been driving without insurance for a month even though I paid them. Take the month and run. Just let Amax know, all the stuff you all just deleted, I copies of it. I needed to add a vehicle to my policy, and I got put on hold for an hour and 46 minutes and I finally hung up! Called back and was told everyone was at lunch and the lady was personally emailing two representatives who would gladly help when one of them came back from lunch in 30 min.... Never heard back from anyone!! Call today and I am told the company I am with doesn't do full coverage anymore and I couldn't add the vehicle.. And my policy that I just paid $268 a week ago was being cancelled?!!! What kind of business are these people even running? Totally thieves. They stole $200 on my renewal. it was $146 when I opened the car insurance policy with them 6 months ago. I called to renew and the price went up to $280. I kept on asking the agent on call why it is so expensive. She kept on telling that's the price company is asking for renewal. I asked her which company and she said the insurance company. And she said rates have changed in 6 months. I told her I need the payment detail and she said she would send me receipt with payment detail after I sign the documents. After signing electronically, she sent me receipt which had Agency Fee $200. I asked her what is this Agency, she said A-max. I got so mad and I asked her why she lied to me that my insurance company was asking $280, it was their fee not my insurance. I told her to refund the money and cancel my renewal which they deny to do so. That's stealing by lying and not telling the truth until they get your signatures. My Name is Kannon and I was a customer at A-Max Insurance until July of 2020 so I thought. I personally have been dealing with cancer related issues and I'm not able to always get out the house. Back in July I called AMax to cancel my policy I spoke with Wendy at this location who advised me she would go ahead and cancel the policy by removing auto debit and the policy would auto cancel when payment is not received... fast forward today I called and speak to Jessica and advise her I was billed for July, August and September and I would like a refund. Jessica refunded to refund me so I advised her as of to day I would contact my bank to have to charges reversed and I would also will be filing a lawsuit against this location. From what I learned A-Max Insurance this is just a broker that cheats people out of money by over pricing their insurance policy when they advertise that can find you cheaper rates. When they make a mistake they will not own up to it or attempt to fix any mistakes by their agents. Over priced insurance, and very uncooperative. I've called every other day for almost 2 weeks, simply asking for proof of insurance. Every employee said I should receive it via email within 15 minutes, and I never got a single email from them. It is now 6 days until my court date for my insurance ticket, and I'm trying to prove I had insurance, yet I have no proof because they wouldn't send it to me. I'm not thy type to get angry with customer service. But after 5 polite phone calls with nothing to show for it, I finally got angry with them and that seemed to work. I wish I could give them 0 stars. A driver with A-max insurance slammed into me and provided his insurance card. The card was valid for 6 months and showed it was current. Apparently the driver stopped payment after 1 month and his coverage was lapsed and they accepted no responsibility even though they provided the card. I found this out after 4 phone calls , sitting on hold for over 10 min each time, and waiting 36 hours for an adjuster to call me back to say I'm going to have to file with my insurance for accident involving an uninsured motorist. I'm disgusted with any company that has these business practices or morals. My car dealership said they wouldn't work with them BC they never pay out on claims. Therefore she is unprofessional, careless and wants to be on her phone all day long, since I caught her on there when first walked in. This company will not respond to my calls or texts regarding an accident that occured on My 4, 2021. One of their insured drivers rear ended my car, which forced my to rear end the car in front me while waiting at a red light on Northwest Hwy in Dallas. This place is a complete RIPOFF!! They just want your money, they offered nothing during the pandemic. The company I'm currently with through them, stopped doing business with them. I called to make my payment to be told this information. I was then told they would have to requote me, but I would not have to pay another down payment on two separate occasions and would be called back, it never happened. I called them back on a third day and was told the same information about the requote, but was told I had to pay a down payment. I explained what was told to me and the representative said yes, and continued to talk about the requote as if I said nothing to her in that regards. They will never apologize or never try to correct anything when they're at fault about nothing! All they want is your money and in return provide a very shitty service to some of their customers and they do nothing to make things right where some of their customers are concerned. The absolute worst! They do insure those who don't have a valid DL, but the service is freaking horrible. They don't care about your time; to make a payment--a process that should be less than two minutes, I have never been off the phone in less than 10. The process is very simple--you pull up my account, you take my payment, you give me a confirmation. Why do I have to sit and hear minutes upon minutes of dead air? I called in yesterday to renew my policy and had had an sr-22 on file. First I was told it would be $109 to renew a few days ago with my sr-22, so that is what I put in my bank, then when I called back to purchase it was changed to $180, so the lady did a new quote and said it would be $139 with the sr-22 or $110 to get started without it, I told her I was not sure if it had been 2 years yet or not since getting it and wasn't sure if I still needed it or not but did not have $139 at the moment. She said I could just get it without it then call in to add the sr 22 with no problem after I find out, just have to pay the difference. So I figure out today after talking to the DPS I still need it for four more months, I call Amax to ask them to add the sr22, thinking it will be be the $30 difference and I'm told I have to pay another $130 on top of the $110 I already paid 1 day ago. This is so ridiculous. I was told I would just have to pay the difference not pay even more than I did before. Everyone else charges around $25 to file a sr-22. And I was quoted yesterday $30 for the sr22 not $130 This is not what I was told when I purchased this policy, I feel cheated. I requested to cancel my policy and was told I have to wait two days to see what kind of refund they want to give me and how much. Well I think that thisis unacceptable and my license will likely be suspended soon for not having that sr22 since I don't have another $100 on hand to purchase another policy right this minute and am having to wait for weeks for whatever refund they decide to give.
