The busum shrimp and grilled prawns were especially good. The Labskaus was very flavorful and tasted perfect with the egg served with it. For main course we had grilled cod fillet with creamed savoy cabbage and parsley potatoes, fish hamburg style which was zander with Dijon mustard sauce and potatoes and Wels filet cardinal style. All our main course dishes were excellent, fish was very fresh, with subtle flavors while keeping the original fish taste intact. They were cooked to perfection and were not dry and chewy. The side of potatoes were good and not too filling. The dijon mustard sauce served as a good dipping sauce, and wasn't overbearing with mustard flavor. My favorite was the wels filet, it was an explosion of delectable flavors and creaminess all at once. The au gratin actually melts in your mouth and you can't have enough of it. One of the best seafood dishes I've had. Too bad you don't get this dish every where, especially the way this restaurant makes it. This restaurant has nailed it and definitely seems like their OG. I highly recommend this dish. For dessert we had their goat cheese, again a perfect ending to an amazing feast. We went here for dinner on a weekday hence it wasn't that crowded. Each day you can pick from 5 or 6 dishes for a reasonable price. The food is always tasty and I have never had any complaints. And if you think for example the portion is too small? Then say so! Sometimes you will get a top up. The staff are great and really friendly in a Hanseactic way (that's a good thing!). So basically I have no complaints! The pizza is a decent size but they forgot one of the ingredients. Further, it was thin-crust but mushy and wet. Nothing crunchy or appealing about this dish. The noodles were bland and I think I counted about 15 pieces (in total) of penne. This as a main course and for something like 12 Euros. The pizza for somewhere in the vicinity of 15 Euro for the "large" was ridiculous. The wine, also not cheap, was OK but nothing more. Finally, service was a joke. Slow is an understatement. Disinterested and unprofessional fits the bill. So, why two stars? Well, I really like the decor inside. It is well styled. Further, it's a nice location and if you are only coming in for a couple glasses of wine, fine. I'll give them two stars for deco and location. Otherwise, everything else is a joke. Finally, you better like snobs. The place is usually full of your usual Eppendorfer clowns. Pinks, greens, animal prints, silicon lips, LV bags and so forth. I can usually drown them out and mostly find them amusing decoration for a place.
