CURLY HAIR! If you have it, you probably understand not trusting most hair stylists out there. I…read moremade an appointment with Anna on a recommendation from my mom, and I'm really glad I did. Not only do I have curly hair and love my curls, but I also love my outdoorsy, wash-and-go lifestyle, something that amazingly few stylists understand. Most want to throw so many products at my head (that I get scared I'll burst into flames when I sit in the sun by a window) seemingly to disguise the fact that they really don't know how cut curls without making me look like a dirty, matted shih tzu (minus the zu part). So, back to Anna. She not only listened to me while I explained what I wanted and how much time and energy I put into my hair, but she heard me. We discussed different styles and why some might not be great for me, and then she helped me with some styling tips that fit right in with the wash-and-go life. To me, this step is almost more important than how my hair looks when I walk out the door. And if it's not as important to you, don't fear because I walked out the door looking amazing. My hair turned out better than I hoped it would and I have confidence that I can keep that salon-fresh look by simply washing-and-going. Curly-haired gals and guys of Central Arkansas, Anna at Euphoria is amazing.

I called them and let them know what my hair had been through and that it's thick and curly so I really needed an experienced stylist. The person on the phone was very kind and professional even tho I was so worried. She paired with Monica who has really repaired and done wonders for my hair. Thank you!

I love Caracalla. Everything about this salon and spa is classy, comfortable and makes you feel…read morepampered every time you go in. I've been here for several different services (never hair), and have never had a bad experience. In fact, once I just popped in to buy a gift certificate, and while I was waiting for the cashier to put it together, some spa employees were having a personal conversation near the front reception, and the cashier asked them to take their conversation somewhere else. She wasn't rude and the employees understood and moved on, and I thought that this gesture demonstrated that this salon is about the CLIENT. And it truly is. I think one of the things I really like about Caracalla is that it is spacious enough for all the services to have their own areas, that feel roomy, private, quiet, etc., as appropriate. You are not thrust on top of anyone else and you have all the attention of your professional. They give you all relevant information and really focus on you and take care of you. You cannot put your tip on your credit card, though, and you tip the employees directly in envelopes at the front with checks or cash, so be prepared for that. What will keep me coming back to Caracalla is how friendly and warm the people are there, even though they offer luxurious treatments and high quality services. They aren't snooty, but very accessible and helpful.Treat yourself! You'll love it!

What a cool experience. I'm in Little Rock for work and came to Hot Springs on my day off,…read morespecifically to check out the Buckstaff Bathhouse. I'm so glad I did. The Buckstaff was built in 1912, and once you enter the locker room you step back in time over 100 years. It's one of 2 operating bathhouses on Bathhouse Row, but the only one that maintains the original feel. The treatments and fixtures are the same as they have been for the last century. I was fortunate to have Ricky as my attendant, who has worked at Buckstaff since 1977. He made sure I had a great experience! I also had an excellent massage from Ryan. I can't recommend Buckstaff Bathhouse enough. Step back in time and enjoy the thermal waters of Hot Springs!

I visited the Buckstaff Bathhouse on my recent trip to Hot Springs. I also visited another historic…read morethermal bathhouse, so my review is a bit of a comparison between the two. The thing I really enjoyed at Buckstaff that was not offered at the other bathhouse was the steam cabinet. However, this was only about 5 minutes of my visit, so I would say if I returned, I might not go back to Buckstaff. However, I absolutely recommend visiting this one so you can decide which is your favorite! Here is the sequence of events I experienced (thermal bath experience with no massage/paraffin): I got there before 8 and there were four couples ahead of me in line. By the time 8 rolled around there were many more people behind us. Definitely recommend getting there early! The check in process was a little chaotic because the people behind the table just said "whoever was here first, come to the counter." We were all sort of in a blob and once one person jumped in front of someone else who had been there before she had, the vibe got a little weird. I kind of wish they had deli numbers or something, but oh well. I am sure it all works out. The people who worked there were all very friendly, and the people in the treatment room were SUPER busy the whole time, but very friendly. I got changed, got my sheet, and went in for my bath. They offered a loofa but no other extras (like scented salts) but I can understand why since it was a tighter space. If there were any smells in there, it could get really challenging for people sensitive to smells. My bath was fine and I enjoyed the loofa. Then I went to the cooling table. The hot towels cooled off pretty quickly, and they were more draped over me than wrapped (which was what I saw for everyone, so it wasn't just me). I don't know if that is why they cooled so quickly, but I was kind of there in cold towels for a bit which was less pleasant. Next, I went to the steam cabinet which was my favorite. I did not know how I would feel because the steam cabinet is so strange looking, but I would 10/10 want to do this or something like it again. It was like the best of both worlds being able to breathe regular air while experiencing the benefit of a steam sauna on my body. Next was the sitz bath. I was looking forward to this unique experience, but I could take it or leave it. Maybe I don't have the concerns that would make this a dream come true feeling, but I kind of just felt awkward and like I was sitting in warm water on a towel. I then went back to get dressed and leave. It was overall a great experience I feel very lucky to have had. Hot Springs offers some "nowhere else" type National Park experiences, and I definitely 100% recommend supporting the thermal baths and their employees! I would take my own clean flip flops for next time. I think they offer spa shoes, but I don't remember seeing anyone who had them.

I was about 2 years overdue for a much needed trim. I am picky about who cuts my hair. My cousin…read morewas cutting my hair while we were still living in California and I did have someone recommend Salon Dolce to me. I was scheduled there, but had to cancel last minute when something came up. I really, really needed a cut so I tried to walk in at Salon Dolce (since it is on their window), but was told they don't really do walk ins because the ladies there set up their own schedule and that I could come back later in the week when they had an opening. So sitting in the Harp's parking lot, I took to Google and found that the Villa Salon had a good rating. Called and was able to be seen in 5 minute by Sonja. Villa Salon is in the strip mall across the train tracks from the Cabot Meat Market. They've got some vintage decor going on and it kinda looks like they have a runway down the middle with the wood floors leading to the back where the sinks and dryers are. Sonja is so friendly and patient, she listened to what I wanted and took her time cutting my hair, getting rid of all of the dry, split ends and bringing my hair back to life. I brought my youngest two in for a hair cut as well a couple days later and she was able to get my youngest son to sit STILL. That is talent because he is all over the place and we were nervous since it was his first cut ever. One Saturday, I brought my oldest son in to have his hair cut and fixed. We just stopped by without an appointment, and we lucked out because she was available. Sonja showed what needed to grow out in order for his hair to get back on track to get the hair style that he wants. Definitely glad she knows how to cut/fade and saw where his hair needed to be fixed without me trying to explain it! Glad I found Sonja and will be going to her as long as we're stationed out here :)
