The pictures of this hotel DO NOT REPRESENT IT correctly. This hotel is shabby and run-down on the outside, with fading paint, in an isolated dark area. We had made a reservation but, in viewing the room we were assigned, we were horrified. The paint in the room was peeling in many places. There was nowhere to hang anything, not even a bare closet bar. There was one chair that was old and worn out, with the fake leather rubbed off and peeling in many places. The bathroom was dark and dingy. The shower was small and dark, very tightly enclosed. The bed had only a sheet and we had to ask for blankets. We couldn't imagine ourselves staying in this room overnight. I had never done this before, in my many years of staying in hotels, but I went back to the front desk and shared my complaints. I was told there were no other rooms available. I asked for a refund, letting them know the pictures on line totally misrepresented the acutality of the situation. I was told that I could get 50% back, but not a full refund, even though the hotel was otherwise fully booked, at least as they told me. In desperation, I accepted the 50% refund and drove around the town, checking out a few other hotels and, without too much trouble, found one that was 10 times better than the original hotel, at the same price. I'm just writing this detailed description hopefully to save someone from a similar experience. The one positive was the young lady at the office window. She was charming and sweet and tried to be helpful. read more

Sheets were fairly clean but the towels were a bit stained and rough. One thing I noticed was that the wood furniture had a residue on it which I'm not sure was from disinfecting the room or not. I just needed a night at an inn. I was so tired and pulled up the lodging options on my travel app and A Nights Inn had the best ratings by far in this price range so I booked a night. After a couple attempts at locating the inn at night (no bright signs and set back from the main road), I found the little unlit sign directing me to the office. My first thought was wtf??!! There's nothing here?! Then i thought ... it's a quarter car wash ... then i thought ... ohhhh it's one of those hourly places (I was too tired for that). Then I thought ... I just might have booked a room for a night at anything but an inn. BUT (and that's a BIG but), once I opened up the door to the room, I realized why this place had some good reviews. Good room, comfy bed, right size pillows, internet that works and clean. A fine motel we stayed 1 night in while traveling a long distance. Easy check in (and we showed up around midnight) and very reasonable price. We didn't stay long but left again as soon as we woke up. Perfect for our needs for a night. read more

For the price. . . 5 stars. When I pulled up motel looked so run down that I asked to see the room before I paid. The room was much better than the outside, the bed super comfy and the woman was so sweet. Later a man from the family stopped by to see if I needed anything and was just as friendly and welcoming. Room had a microwave and coffee maker that I needed for an early departure for a race and I slept so well in that bed. It's old and run down but if you want something super affordable please support this sweet family when you are in town. read more

Giving this place 4 stars because it was good for the price. We needed a place to stay in between road tripping. We paid around $67 for a room that had a king bed, bathroom, tv, mini bar fridge, microwave. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Pros: Very clean premises including the parking lot. Felt safe, considering how the town feels on the outskirts. We were given a couple bottles of water upon arrival which was nice. Walking distance to a nice Chinese restaurant where we ordered food from. Chicken fried rice, lemon chicken, crab Rangoon: all of which was nice and big portions for the price. Walking distance to a small selection of shops across the road. 24 hour surveillance, 24 hour bell to ring at front desk if you need assistance. Large, comfy bed. The room and linens / carpet were clean. Air conditioner / heater was really good! Cons: Towels could be softer. Provided toiletries could be a nicer brand? Pillows could have been bigger / more of them. And top quilt could have been thicker for a more luxurious feel.. but again, it was great for the price. Our stay was pleasant enough! read more

Yikes. I trusted the combination of Yelp, Trip Advisor and hotels.com reviews I saw that in general said this place was pleasantly surprising on the inside considering what a dump it appears to be on the outside. Interestingly, although I agree that it doesn't hold much enticement from the outside (all stucco buildings and concrete grounds), it at least looks clean and is on the edge of a residential neighborhood. The neighborhood is quiet and actually feels pretty safe. Definitely not a high income area, but didn't feel sketchy either. Inside, I'm not impressed. The bedroom was large and seemed clean enough but the bathroom was really yucky. My tennis shoes were sliding around on the tile floor and I realized it actually seemed to be greasy. How could that be? But, yes, other than being white bathroom tiles, you'd have thought you were in the kitchen of a greasy diner whose floors hadn't been cleaned in a while. I don't get it, but it was true. Also, the place wasn't physically in great shape. Signs of water leakage in the bathroom ceiling. The beds were pretty saggy. The tiles on the floor and walls of the bathroom were cracked in many places. Cheap toiletries. Rough towels that had some stains. No place to hang clothes. One chair, a low, leaning office chair that has seen better days. I'll give credit for a nice heat/cool unit that looks pretty new, wasn't too noisy, and heated the room quickly. Also, although we didn't use them, there were a nice large TV, a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. All that said, this was maybe worth the low price, at $60-ish, but if I had it to do over I'd have stayed at Motel 6 instead. read more

Never got a chance to even book a reservation. Tried calling 5 times. 1. told to call back in 10-15 min because the person to do reservations was out for a bit. 2. Called back and was disconnected after being on hold for 4 min. 3. called back and I had another call come in while they were looking for avail that I needed to take and when I requested to put them on hold for one-min to tell my call I would call them back, they disconnected with me. 4. called back with no answer 5. called back with no answer. I do a lot of work in China Lake and was hoping to find a nice clean friendly mom and pop hotel. This experience will drive me back to the local chains in the area.....too bad. read more

New people bought this vintage mom n' pop motel last year and are working hard at refurbishment. Owners very nice and attentive. The place clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe parking in front of room....at a bargain price. Interesting note; I was asked at check in what I do for a living, where I was from and the purpose of my stay. . Puzzled somewhat, I answered that I'm from the San Diego area, a contractor and here on business for 4 days.....Why do you ask? To which he replied that they are trying to build a positive reputation and that their policy is to avoid giving rooms to those (especially locals) with nefarious intent or shenanigans in mind. I have to say I stayed at Econo-Lodge in Ridgecrest and the stay there didn't even come close to the stay at "A Nights Inn!" The rooms were clean, the bed was amazingly comfortable, it was quite and AJ was very helpful, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I will definitely stay there again!!!! You can't help but root for the family running this place. It clear WAS a dump but now it's quite nice - attractive furnishings, new plumbing. And AJ, the fellow at the desk is very friendly. Great and welcoming staff. Rooms are very clean, beds very comfortable. Parking in front of most rooms. Quiet at night and just off the main road. Plenty of surrounding places to get something to eat or drink including a supermarket across the street. Mini fridge and microwave work good, and wifi is good and reliable. I stayed here a few weeks ago. The customer service was good. They were very friendly. The room was fairly clean, although there was a cup of coffee in the microwave. Kinda made me think what else was missed. The bed was comfortable, but only had one top sheet and the comforter (which was very thin). No blanket in between like all other hotels I have stayed at (which are many). I for one NEVER use the comforter since most hotels do NOT change them in between guests.So I had to crank up the heat to be comfortable in the thin sheet. Also the water in the shower was too cold. It wasn't even room temperature and I had tried to allow it to heat up for several minutes, with no luck. Maybe it was just my room? I had to leave quickly so I didn't have time to say anything. The WiFi sucked too......Couldn't get a good connection. I would consider staying here again if I was ever in the area again. It was fairly cheap. read more
