They replaced my garage door opener with a chamberlain charge me $450. The problem started when they put the wrong year on my invoice. They put 2024 when I called Gia to have her send me a new invoice so it would not void my warranty if something happened to my new garage door opener I got the riot act She was very uncooperative and I still don't know if she's going to send me another invoice as requested with the proper date on it I am 75 years old and disabled and if this is the way you treat your customers find someone else. read more

Wow, John and Gia are quite a team. My garage door that was put in many years ago (10+) and worked pretty good started to take a poop. I don't know, being out in the desert all these years etc., etc., I think took it's toll. The company that had put in the door had gone out of business (with some bad reviews) and I was nervous about calling anyone because I thought I might get the run around and be excessively charged so I hesitated. Finally, the damn thing was going off the rail and the strings had unwrapped so I had to bite the bullet. I gazed upon our blessed Yelp and the first one I looked at in my area looked pretty good. It was a Friday, a little later in the day, so I thought I'll probably have to wait til next week and who knows who I'll deal with and how much it will cost, etc., etc. All the paranoid things you might rain on yourself in these situations. I was having a good day though and got to speak with Gia. She answered right away, asked the right questions and was super sweet and kind in addition. Felt like I had know her forever. My anxiety was coming down immediately. I didn't have to look for another place. Like I said, it was later in the afternoon on Friday and I thought I was gonna get the "see you next week" thing when I really needed the garage to be shut. Well, she cracked the whip on John and he came out within a half hour/forty five minutes. Unbelievable. Right away, I could tell he was a Master at what he does and my anxiety was lowering even further. Just that someone actually cared to help when I called later in the day was blowing my mind. While he was working his magic we had some cool conversations about his growing up in the Antelope Valley and the good old days and such and then wallah! the garage door was working like a charm. I was given a free estimate before the job and he stuck to it not adding anything on and I don't want to embarrass him but I think we hugged at the end (lol)! I waited awhile to write this review because I was afraid the door might go gaflooey on me (I told you I was paranoid), but it has been working great and now I can check off my list who handles my garage doors. After reading all the reviews, I decided to give them a try. I thought I had figured out the problem with my garage door because it was opening fine, but wasn't closing unless I physically pressed the button inside my garage. I was going to fix it myself, but wanted to get a professional diagnosis and quote. I called and spoke with Gia. She was very professional and super nice! We scheduled my appointment for the next day! With a 2 hour window, she told me that her husband John would be giving me a courtesy call to let me know when he would be arriving. He did call and arrived shortly thereafter. I thought I was just going to get a quote, but they went ahead and fixed it. John Wood III is awesome! He knows what he's doing, won't sell you more than you need but is certainly available to design and install a super deluxe hi-tech garage door operation. The first he came he replaced the rollers and, WOW, did that make the opening/closing of the door soooooo quiet. The second time we called him, he talked us through trying to fix the motor but it was determined the capacitor was blown and we decided to take John's advice and just get a whole new motor replacement with keypad entry. One thing about John: he's so good, he's in demand! But the other great thing about John is that he knows how to prioritize emergencies. His customer service is EXEMPLARY- he kept us informed about when the parts would come in and when he could come out to the house, working around our schedules, too. And I didn't have a generator to open the garage door. I had a stroke 2 years ago and don't have the strength to open the garage door even with the pull cord working properly. After talking us through trying to get it open, he came out the next day while the power was still out and installed a new opener with back up battery. Had a garage door installed by a family friend who was also a contractor and it never worked without the cable coming off. Those motherpuckers are heavy and awkward when help is only a phone call away but your phone is on your workbench. Fast forward 20yrs later, following up on a suggestion from a friend, John came out to service the door. He ended up replacing the spring which had been installed incorrectly, running new wire cables, and two new wheels, as well as checking for trueness in the door frame and wheel tracks. Couldn't be happier with the recent service from John at A Plus. My parents recently had their garage door opener replaced by a scam artist.
