This is definitely a hidden gem! To find a location that still does what I call "regular nails" made my day. I've been going here for several months now and it's definitely worth the drive because I do not live close at all. This shop is small, family owned of course and you always feel welcomed. I go to Mimi every time and she does great work! I'm extremely picky about my nails and she never has any issues getting them exactly the way I like them. They have an abundance of colors to choose from and tons of nail art. Worst place ever I went less than a week ago and regret it. 2 of my nails have already broke off and they did a very lumpy job. The sides feel like the could of did a better job file. Oh my gosh! I moved from Stone Mountain/Tucker to Stockbridge. When I moved, I stopped getting my nails done. I used to have gel, and I'm so picky about how they look and the quality of service while I'm treating myself that I didn't want to spend months trying to find a place that didn't compare to A Plus Nails. Two years later and an upcoming wedding later, I decided to suck it up and go get my gels put back on. BIG MISTAKE. I went to Christian Nails in Stockbridge, the nails look fake, and I have scabs all around my nails from where the guy nicked me with the dremmel. Solution? Drive from Stockbridge to A Plus Nails every few weeks to get the kind of service I have come to expect. The people there are great! And, if you become a regular customer, you get your own kit. I mean, your own little dremmel bit, files, etc. That way, you know your equipment hasn't been shared with everyone!!!!! Oh, go here. Treat yourself. I love this salon. Yvonne is great and the rest of the staff is entertaining and friendly. They have 5 spa pedicure chairs and a number of nail stations. They offer waxing services and massage. I have not had a pedicure or waxing at A Plus Nails. I do get my acrylics done here regularly and there is always attention to detail, and they are very careful with the dremel tools. Yvonne always remembers the shape I prefer and even my preferred length, even when I hadn't been a client for very long. I'm not that thrilled with the nail polish colors available, but they do have a wide selection of colors. I like to have more shades of blood reds and light pinks. read more

I really want to give them a better rating, for their courteous attitude, descent skill and service.. especially being able to go in immediately without an appointment on Sunday afternoon..however, I would like to warn those who have sensitive sinus as the air inside felt like sitting in a smoking room and it made me feel so sick I just ran out of as soon as the job was done. I didn't even sit while to dry the nails for I typically like to sit around the dryer longer than most people to make sure they're completely dry before I step out. New to the area, tried this place since it's the closest nail salon to my home... Imagine how awesome that would be since it's right down the street! Unfortunately, the owner/manager passed me off as soon as a woman came out of the back. It took them forever to remove my gel polish- lack of knowledge. I've been getting gel- manicures for years and while I understand everyone has their own technique, theirs did not work well with the heat padded gloves she just kept trying to file my whole nail to remove the polish. I did not want to damage my nails so I asked her to stop, I've never had a problem getting the polish off so to me it was a waste of time while the technician commented that whoever did my nails put the polish on too thick. So of course, a week after getting my nails done here the polish looks horrible and is already peeling... Ugggh, won't go here again! read more

Just recently went to this shop yesterday to get my nails done. And honestly it is one of the worst nail jobs I have ever had. I came to get my previous nails removed and asked for a new set with a French tip. The lines of the French tip are not clean, the acrylic of the nail is not smooth so it makes my nails look lumpy. And while she was using the drill to "smooth" it out, she kept drilling the skin around my nail making me bleed 3 times. On top of that, she didn't remove all of the acrylic from my previous set so it shows through on the clear part of my French tip. Another thing that I did not like is they charge $2 to cut down your nails which should be included in the price because that is something people do obviously if their going to a nail shop! When I went there, it was only one other person in the shop meaning they weren't busy. So there is no excuse for the poor quality in service. The only good thing is the price but I guess you get for what you pay for. read more

I took my Netbook into the shop to share the great review with the owner who initially was skeptical as it appeared I was trying to sell something. Yvonne was understanding as I had not had my nails done in about one year and was advised by my doctor that due to my split thumb, I would need a silk wrap. As God would have it, Yvonne was the only person in the shop who did silk wraps. The shop is not fancy, but VERY professional, kind and the job they did on my nails was inCREDible. Wow. A+ is a perfect name for this shop. They were gentle and open to suggestions about my pedicure and removing the built up calluses. Please visit them soon. You will NOT be disappointed. BTW: I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes to hear from a stranger (customer) about their recent nail job in A+. This lady had been coming to A+ for 8 months. They have been around for 12 years. Went here for the first time because I needed a salon on the way to my meeting. The nail tech was slow and took offense when I asked him to cut my toe nails a little shorter (and I promise I wasn't rude). The manager came over and finished the job, I guess because the first guy was too bothered to, although I'm not sure why. The manager wasn't much better and I still didn't get what I asked. Then the tech that did my mani seemed to be okay with clumpy nail polish. Had I not pointed it out to her my nails would look ridiculous!
