Anyway, I was really excited to check it out, as my family and I love local art. I looked online at the website, and realized that the Red Door Gallery carries work from some of my favorite locals artists. A few days later, my husband and I visited the gallery, and were very impressed. Red Door Gallery has great displays - very organized, clean, and under-whelming (which is a good thing). The items were affordably priced, with a large selection. I also liked that I saw different types of artwork, even from artists I have see time and time again. Also, let me point out - we had GREAT service! The two girls that were working were extremely friendly and informative. Sweet girls!

The staff was beyond helpful and knowledgeable. They had a very well organized selection of charts and floss. I have never been in a store that had the assortment of finishing materials and accessories as this store did. My only regret is that we can't visit more often as we live in Nevada. These days finding this kind of thing is like spotting a rare bird and just as exciting. I stop in whenever I am in the area, which is a couple of times a year, and understand they are expanding in 2019 (as well as fixing the floors which are old and uneven - is you go before the remodel please watch your step). It was the best representation of Native craft I had seen since Eureka Springs. I got a shirt which was designed by a local artist who wasn't there this day. The words on the shirt were bold and proud of the Chickamauga Cherokee tribe. It said "We are not yet conquered" Those words were spoken by Chief Dragging Canoe. Must see indeed!

Then the next space, I hesitate to call them rooms since they flow seamlessly together, has a variety of items from crafts to art for sale. And at price points for everyone. Friends bought turned wooden pens and pottery and glass pieces. But there were also textiles and sculpture. THEN upstairs in the loft space was an historical exhibit featuring pieces created at a nearby Japanese internment camp during World War II. Gorgeous and heartbreaking. The space is well laid out; the staff helpful without being pushy. We even randomly met one of the artists that pieces in the gallery. Great way to spend some time.
