Then shuts it off for 5 minutes then turns it back on again over and over! Then before that, people are up all night long driving and walking like theyre scoping out the place, i felt nervous because it sounded like they were going through things outside, just really made me feel uneasy, for 60. A night i should feel more safe and not on edge, and the music starts up again at 9:30 am on the weekend. Cant relax on the weekend here, if you want to party thats the place to be. I thought it was going to be a quiet little campground, but by 3am its noisier than heck and it doesnt settle down, on a sunday! I don't reccomend if you want some relaxation on a weekend. Oh yeah when i first arrived i thought i was in mexico, spanish music blaring, this is no place to be if you want to relax or have respect for others, i dont see much of that there. Way too pricey for that atmosphere; sorry hillcrest but my first impression sadly wasnt a good one. BUT on the positive side, i do have to say that it is a pretty area and the staff was accomodating.

I had to sit and wait for a part for my RV for nearly a week, and they were very nice and accommodating, even lending an extra hand when I needed a little help fixing something. Hillcrest sits up on a hill just a few miles out of town, and the property typically gets a nice breeze in the hottest part of the day, which really helps on sunny days. There are trees that provide shade too, so overall it's a very comfortable place even when the temps rise into the high 80's. It always seems to cool down into the 60's at night too, which is a real blessing in the dog days of summer. My only complaint with Hillcrest is their bathrooms, which are pretty much the original structures from decades ago. Frankly, they should have been completely demolished and rebuilt when the current family of owners bought the property from the original developers who built it decades ago. I'm not sure what the plans are, but I'd imagine they understand the situation and will get around to making improvements soon.

One of the sites was had a max size limit of 60 feet. Between our two RV we were under that measurement. We are a large family with seniors and veterans in our group and arrived late in the evening and parked both RVs on the same site. Early the next morning a lady came by and told us to move one of the RV's. She never identified herself and we said after everyone was a wake we would move it. The previous day was a long day of travel and we would have to wake people up to put our slide outs in. She came back a little later as we were packing up to move (the keys were in the ignition and you could tell we were preparing to leave and she demanded that we move ASAP. We moved, in fact we left the site for the day for a family reunion. When we return to the site to drop off some of our family there was sandwich board sign in the middle if the site they said "ONE RV PER SITE. " okay Karen your sarcasm is not going to be tolerated. Our RV was moved there was no need for your sign. (Their sign was relocated into the weeded area near our site, I didn't want anyone to accidentally run over it" She and presumably her boss came by later that night as we were dropping people off. They did mot take kindly when we asked they the reason for this rule especially when other people around us had boats and cars parked on the grass their sites. We are allowed one additional vehicle. Instead of answering questions they called the Sheriff. I am 45 years old and never had the Sheriff called on me. When the Sheriff arrive we explained what was going on the guy laughed and did not understand b

The CONS are considerable and we would never in a million years stay there again. It is a 4 mile dirt road with a steep hill to get down to the marina. The road is not maintained - while we were there, we were alternately told the road was and was not the responsibility of the casino (which owns and manages the RV park.) After a day of rain, the dirt road became an uphill bog of MUD. There was a regular car in the ditch the first day. It is miraculous that we made it uphill with our camper, slipping and fishtailing the whole way. I can't remember being so scared. Other campers were not so lucky and got stuck - had to be pulled out of the muck by a local farmer who was kind enough to help. After we were able to get out and sprayed off the mud at a car wash, the next day our wherls started malfunctioning and we had to have the dried mud chiseled out of our wheels and tires rotated to fix it. Hookups at the marina are electric only; they do have two water spigots near the center that are meant to be for general use, but the regulars hooked up to their RV while we were there, which made the spigot closest to us unavailable. The casino was good - we might be tempted to stay at the paved rv park directly connected to the casino in the future, but just the thought of our experience at the Marina scares me to death.
