Fire rings and picnic table at east site, restroom with shower at the south end of the loop, near the camp host site. Trail available to walk 1 mile to Knife River National Historic Site, a great small free National Park Service unit with the village site where Sakakawea lived before being recruited by the Lewis and Clark expedition. Also a strong option for overflow crowds who want to go to Lake Sakakawea for boating and fishing but can't (or choose not to) get into Hazen Bay or the state park. Not much highway noise as such, but the park loop road is well-used by locals getting to the playground (also a little noisy with local families) and the fishing / boating area. But for the rate, probably the best value around by far.

They were friendly and hospitable, and their rates for tent camping are good. The facilities are pretty clean. One time, I was exhausted when I arrived late at night, and I misplaced my car keys after I set up my tent. I discovered they were missing in the morning and kind of panicked. But when I walked back to my car, I found the keys sticking out of the keyhole in the trunk... They'd been there all night and all morning, in full view of everyone who walked by the main building, and nobody touched them! How many places are safe enough that something like *that* could happen?! The only downside is that if you get there after dark and get assigned to one of the campsites that are back in the woods, it can be hard to follow the map and see the entrance to find your campsite. The sites and roads could be marked more clearly. I spent about 30 minutes searching this relatively small place one time. But despite that, overall I really like this please and would recommend it.

Our original site was not suitable for our truck and trailer, but after speaking with a Corp of Engineers' representative, we were moved into a site that worked well for us. The camp host was helpful and we enjoyed our time at this spot. A gas station, little store and other amenities were within walking distance. The beach was close and boating, paddle boarding and other water spots were enjoyed by all. We were there over the 4th and could see fireworks from several different spots.

We have stayed at North Park for the past seven years when traveling back & forth cross country…read more This place remains consistently excellent. It is safe, quiet, friendly and clean. We have a 20ft travel trailer and appreciate the pull through sites so we can stay "hooked up". We can easily walk on a quiet local street to Walmart. The site has maintained grass and a sturdy picnic table. The secured bathhouse and laundry suites are very clean and well maintained. The internet performs well and is included in the nightly rate which is reasonable. We have observed that the tent sites are great- level, grassy and partially shaded. For tenters there are nearby places to take safe shelter for severe weather alerts. We really appreciate the owner's commitment to maintain and upgrade the facilities. The new roadway surfaces are great! The staff have always been extremely helpful and pleasant. Keep up the great work North Park, we appreciate you!!

Green grass, shade trees, electric hook-ups, play ground. Reasonable rates and geared toward the vacation travelers NOT the oil workers. Absolutely commend the city for the care of this campground.
