They mounted an outside receptacle to plug in our emergency power generator and installed a circuit transfer switch in our electric panel to prevent our generator power from feeding back into the power company lines. We recently had them quote a whole house standby generator and they were honest with their recommendations, and the price was comparable to what had been quoted by a local big box store. However, because we don't have natural gas service in our area, we needed to go with a large propane gas storge tank, which our HOA restrictions required to be underground, making the whole project considerably more expensive than we could justify.
