I brought my 6 month old Pomeranian puppy here a little after 4pm, hoping to find a long-term grooming home where I could continue taking him as he grows. Unfortunately, my experience left me very disappointed. I was quoted a base price of $120, with the first 30 minutes of dematting included and any additional dematting billed at $1 per minute. I understood there could be additional charges if my puppy required extra work. However, what I did not expect was for the cost to continue increasing without any communication. Around 8:40pm, I checked in and was told they had just started drying him. Based on that update, I told them to take their time because I believed the appointment was nearing completion. I was never contacted to let me know the bill was approaching several hundred dollars or to ask whether I wanted them to continue. Instead, my puppy remained at the salon until approximately 11:15pm, nearly seven hours after drop-off. After waiting all evening, I was the one who finally texted to let them know I was coming to pick him up because the appointment had gone on far longer than expected. I also let them know it was okay if he wasn't finished, as it was already very late and the appointment had gone on for nearly seven hours. When I arrived, I was told they had spent four hours dematting him, resulting in a final bill of $400. What was especially frustrating is that, despite the lengthy appointment and significant cost, the groom was not completed. I was offered the option to bring him back another day to finish the service. I understand that severely matted dogs require additional time and that groomers deserve to be compensated for that work. My concern is the lack of communication as the cost continued to climb and the amount of time my young puppy spent at the salon for an unfinished groom. A quick phone call to discuss the options or to place a limit on the charges would have gone a long way. I do want to acknowledge that Sivan was kind and professional during our interactions. My concerns are not about the friendliness of the staff, but rather the communication around the cost, the length of the appointment, and the fact that the groom was not completed. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I won't be returning. read more

A Pup's Dream is THE best groomer I've ever experienced. Sivan and Janet are WONDERFUL. You can tell that they truly care about your dog. They take their time with each appointment, and my Pomeranian always comes home looking beautiful. They also let you know if there's any matting or issues they encountered during your pups appointment. If any matting was present, they tell you how you can prevent that in the future. I love that they only take one dog at a time, and they're respectful of space between dogs when transitioning one dog in and one dog out. Location & Communication: I needed a groomer that was close to a specific location in Long Beach and A Pups Dream Dog Grooming came up while I was searching. Sivan was great at communicating the time, costs and what was needed prior to the appointment. The groomer, Sivan has a room in the back of a place called "B*tches and Bubbles" (I censored the name just in case lol). When I walked in, the place was nice and clean! A really nice place to wash your dog if you dont have the means in your own home. Haircut/Bath of my dog: What I really appreciated was the questions that she asked about what I preferred. My senior pup has hair that is sort of wonky when it grows out long and Sivan did such a great job at keeping it long but still short. The cut truly complimented his face shape. He looked and smelt sooo good too! Conclusion: I've been to lots of groomers and I'm always weary because my fur-kid is my baby (and he is old so dont want to stress him out. lol). However Sivan was so great from start to finish and really took care of my sweet boy. This place is so great my dog even gets excited just walking by! I decided to check out this grooming location simply because it's across the street from me and I'm so glad I did! My dog is naturally pretty anxious when it comes to grooming and I wasn't sure how she would respond to a new location. To my surprise, she was full of energy when I picked her up from her first appointment and I could tell the two owners had taken really good care of her. Since then, my dog will always start wagging her tail when she walks by the location and if she sees one of the ladies she'll want to run over to say hello! My boy is usually terrified of the dryer, but they were miraculously able to get him to relax through it. This business was true to its word. I was looking for a groomer who had patience to deal with fearful, traumatized dogs. Before I got him, my rescue, a cockapoo, had an eye removed due to glaucoma.
