The coolest restaurant experience I've ever had! The whole restaurant to yourself, the most beautiful interior, the kitchen right next door, the most attentive servers ever, and amazing food! The chef also came to bring fresh ingredients while we were there so you know the food has high quality ingredients! Everything was delicious and a lot of fun! Definitely priced right bc in america it would be through the roof! The bread was honestly my favorite part lol!

What an amazing find in Sintra. Beautiful space, wonderful food and service by the owner himself. This was a great dining experience. Thinking about returning tomorrow!

The best restaurant in Sintra! The risotto is the best we ever had. I ordered salmon and my wife took the Iberian pork risitto, both dishes were very very good. The restaurant is beautiful. The service is sincere.

So I'm in love with the atmosphere in here. It's like snuggling up in a blanket.

Looking for a nice spot for dinner, not too far from my accommodations, I came across A Raposa. It's so inviting from the outside, I had high hopes as I headed up the stairs. I was a little baffled at the whole doorbell thing (you ring it, they come and open the door - you know, just how doorbells work) - not that I haven't seen it before, but it's rare, and it took me a second to figure out they were indeed open. I was seated at a large table with another solo dinner, who I ended up chatting with, which was nice. Service was efficient (in that brusque, no nonsense type of service you get from older women who don't necessarily speak your language - which I happen to kind of love); I had to laugh when I ordered a glass of wine and she said "and water" just as a grandmother would. The food was fantastic (I had the carrilheira - a slow cooked pork in red wine with potatoes), and the restaurant itself was so cozy. .Dining at sunset only enhanced the lovely artwork on the ceiling - I definitely recommend it.

(Sci-Fi Film "District 9", not to be confused with Villa 6)…read more Tucked deep into the steep hills of Sintra, this cute little restaurant is staffed with welcoming servers who do not in the very least resemble alien prawns. Some stumble upon Villa 6 while snaking their way downhill from Pena Palace, and that would be the preferable way to arrive here. Walking uphill instead is a feat requiring an unhuman tolerance for endless steps that could lead to one chewing their arm off in a fit of insanity. On our way up, every time we reached the top of a set of stairs, magically a new set would appear that would wind in another direction up the hill. It was exactly like the stairs scene near the end of "The Labyrinth", except with no Bowie and no tights. After the long hike, the shaded tables on the cobblestone street at Villa 6 were a huge relief, and the blankets on each chair were a thoughtful touch for extra cushioning. The rap music played here didn't match the rest of the ambiance, but we oddly also noticed rap blasting at several other restaurants we visited in Portugal. Now Villa 6 does not serve arm, but it does offer tasty tapas and traditional Portuguese dishes like bacalhau and bifana, sandwiches made with pork marinated in white wine, garlic, and paprika. We began our meal with some bacalhau codfish fritter appetizers, and they were perfect--crispy on the outside; creamy on the inside. Delicious! This was followed by a hearty pork loin bifana sans mustard. The meat was tender, flavorful, and precisely the fuel needed to take on another 100,000 hidden steps! Prices: Quite reasonable! 5 Euro for a bifana is a great deal! Worthy a rating of 4.5 cod balls. Ambiance: Solid rap playlist for lowkey creating a gangsta video to send to your friends back home. 4 record scratches! Food: I thoroughly enjoyed my bifana and the fritters! 4.8 Prawn sonic blasters! Ability to reach the restaurant: George Tsoukalos would say there was alien involvement regarding the steps. Negative 5,000 Overall Villa 6 is a wonderful spot to enjoy traditional Portuguese food before or after exploring the castles of Sintra. I give it 4.4 stars.

The food across the board was excellent--every dish we tried was flavorful, well-prepared, and felt thoughtfully put together. You can tell there's real intention behind both the menu and execution. What really elevated the experience, though, was our waiter, Bernardo. He brought incredible energy to the table--full of personality, engaging, and genuinely fun to interact with. At the same time, his service was top-notch: attentive without being overbearing, helpful with recommendations, and clearly passionate about what he does. Great food is one thing, but when you pair it with service like that, it turns into a memorable experience. Highly recommend--and if you get Bernardo, you're in for a great time.

I had read in Yelp that lines could be long, but we arrived early. They have a little red rope at the door where they explain the rules. The interior is kind of eclectic. They have wines at three price points, we got a really nice bottle of red called Pops reserve. For the tapas, we ordered the assorted cheeses, octopus risotto, duck breast with chips (not normally on the menu), and ceviche. All were superb. We started with the duck and ceviche. The duck was braised perfectly and seasoned well, wonderful. Then the ceviche had swordfish and tuna. I am not normally a sword fan, but this was very tasty. Next up were the cheese and risotto. The risotto was incredible, buttery and delicious. The cheese plate had 5 cheeses of different intensity. All were great, particularly the goat ones. It came with a pumpkin jam which I had never had before, but was very good. I definitely recommend this place
