This was our last meal in Lisbon and we very much enjoyed it! Throughout the dining experience, the service was efficient and friendly which was much appreciated. They have a beautiful location right next to Miradouro de Santa Catarina which is an amazing place to watch a sunset. The area of the restaurant we sat in was open air but covered whereas the other half was open air uncovered! It was very hot that day and we were all fanning ourselves constantly and the power actually went out 3 or 4 times while we were there! For my meal I had the chicken curry and cheesecake for dessert. Both really fantastic items. The chicken curry stood out to me because I had not had anything else like it in Lisbon so far. Loved the flavors of it. read more

When we asked for a recommendation for a rooftop restaurant in Lisbon, the concierge at the wonderful Corinthia Hotel suggested Noobai. Noobai is in the old town area. It was a great suggestion! Noobai is a restaurant and a bar. The fantastic views included a large steel suspension bridge, the Tagus River, and very scenic landscapes. We had a very good view of the sunset too. The weather was perfect for this outdoor setting. They also had indoor seating with great views on several levels and great music too. There were many people sitting on a nearby hill just to enjoy the awesome view. We had a reservation, so we were seated quickly. Our group of six got very good service. Our waiter was excellent and very friendly! All the staff spoke perfect English, including our waiter. The owner/manager was equally friendly and very helpful. Our waiter made several suggestions that we enjoyed very much. The drinks were great, and all the food and tapas were delicious! If you are in Lisbon, you must make a reservations and enjoy the food, service, ambience, and views at Noobai! We certainly did! read more

Went to Noobai to eat and work on site. Had a decent bite--ordered the tenderloin-- and though it wasn't medium rare as requested it was definitely tasty. The potatoes, broccoli and tomatoes were well seasoned too. Sadly, the WiFi was down and the area extremely noisy due to construction. The construction was responsible for the WiFi interruption according to the waiter. Service was friendly but they were also admittedly understaffed and it was impossible to have a convo with all the nearby work. Hopefully this will not last into the fall. My recommendation-- check this place out at night, for the view at the very least. Skip the daytime trip (unless street drilling is your cup of tea.) read more

A cute sit down out door bar and tapas place with a great view of the water. Great and unique sangrias which taste more like juice than water, and will get you buzzed. They have blankets and a heater for cooler days (especially at night). Great service as well. What we got & what I recommend: We ordered: Alheira Croquettes (we ordered them twice!) - soooo good Prawns and Mango Rosé Sangria Lime and Mint sangria Real Pros: -takes CC, great views, GREAT sangrias I wish we spent more time here and tried more of their foods. When we got there, we just wanted to drink, snack and leave for dinner. We ended up spending about 2.5 hours there otherwise and we had no complaints. The lighting and music was horrible. Flickering lights and club music throughout our sunset dinner. However, those issues were excusable- at the end of our meal they server asked for a service charger (tip) which is not common anywhere in Europe and my friend (who is Swedish) said no thank you, that's not customary, to which he replied "maybe you should go to McDonald's. Self service would be better for you." We left completely shocked and with a bad taste in our mouth. We were quickly attracted to Noobai because of the views! There's I believe 3 levels to the restaurant so don't worry if you come and the top section is full. The views and comfort of this place make you never want to leave (there's even blankets on every chair incase it gets cold!) The staff was very friendly and spoke perfect English to us! We were quickly seated and attended to. We tried a few things from the menu and some were a hit and some were a miss. SUPER YES to the Warm Mushroom Salad which I still crave. The Feta and Olives tapas were also very good. NO to the Smoked Salmon Naan. It was very plain and didn't have much going on. Noobai is the kind of place that my 17-year-old backpacker self would have loooooved even more than my 30-year-old honeymooner self did. The cheap drinks! The flirty bartenders! The romantic views from multi-level terraces! The chill 90s music! It's a magical place that's accessible to all ages and budgets; the kind of place you'll want to end your night at, every night, when in Lisbon. The best memories are made on rooftop bars with river views, but there are only a handful of them to be found in Lisbon. Noobai and Park were two of our faves. Noobai is more laid back, casual and less club-like. Park is more hip and sceney, with slightly higher-up views. Both are worth a trip, but Noobai is more approachable if you're feeling a little scruffy. My favorite part was when I ordered a pina colada, but was convinced it didn't have any rum in it. I marched up to the bar and nicely asked for an extra splash of rum. The bartender happily agreed, and with a mischievous smile, proceeded to top off my glass with a few shots of top-shelf dark rum. It took me all night to suck it down, it was so strong. I could taste the rum this time - not complaining! Good vibes, great views, golden memories. Thanks Noobai! read more

Noobai's food isn't really anything to write home about, they have some local style tapas (boquerones were nice, as were the croquetas) and then mainly sandwiches, hamburgers and other 'international food.' I had the herb crusted cod which was a generous piece of fish although again not an outstanding taste. What I did really like about Noobai though is the two terraces with stunning water views, the extremely friendly and efficient service and the cosy and colourful interior space. It's also very reasonably priced given its excellent location. read more

The pitcher (jarro) of White sparkling sangria with mint and lime (18.00) is the one to get. We also tried the Rosé sangria with pomegranate and lime - still good but not as tasty as the White sparking sangria. Make sure to muddle the mint/lime some more before you pour. The waiter will always pour the first glass, but muddle it up and your second glass will be amazing! I would just focus on drinks here. We got some food and it was average. What a lovely setting. We sat here in the evening for a drink and a snack before dinner (a good way to try lots of different places and ALL the food when you're on holiday!). We were fortunate to get a table at the front so had an unspoilt view looking over the rooftops to the river. When the sun went down the bridge had lights twinkling on it which looked really pretty. The wine we chose wasn't the best but it grew on us. We ordered the croquettes and they were the best though. I could have eaten them all night. Crispy on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside. This was one of the most vegan-friendly restaurants I came upon during my entire European trip. And by that I mean, not 100% vegan, but super friendly to people of all sorts of eating choices, which made my life easier when most of my family requires chicken at most meals. Everyone ate a great lunch, and not one person complained. We sat on the top terrace with gorgeous views of the river, and started with a pitcher of rose sangria with lime and pomegranates. Yes! This was such a home run. We ordered a bunch of small dishes to share. The bread with tapenade and red pepper spread was only okay, it wasn't very fresh and a little too hard, but the tapenade it came with saved the day. It was so delicious and I kept finding myself coming back for more. The vegetable dumplings were tasty and satisfying. Then they had a vegetarian special with tofu and corn, and while it doesn't sound very exciting, I loved it! The corn was chopped and seasoned in such a way that it almost tasted like a sweet grain, and it paired perfectly with the grilled tofu. I was personally thrilled to have well prepared tofu after a few days of carbs and fats. Everyone loved Noobai, for so many reason. The views, the sangria, and the healthy variety of food really won us over. Even if you're not with a mixed bag of eaters, this place should be on your list! read more

The food options were hit or miss for us at Noobai - the Greek salad was great the first time we went, but not as great the second time (fewer vegetables, and the dressing wasn't as good). The "Energia" brunch option was just okay - the bacon was the best part (but when isn't it?) The sausage croquette entree was a pretty big letdown and was basically inedible. However, the view overlooking the river is beautiful, and they have two terraces - the upper terrace for when weather is good, and a lower terrace which has a retractable awning for when you want to eat outside, but the weather isn't so great. The real highlight for us was the sparkling wine sangria with berries (absolutely fantastic), the rose sangria, and the cheesecake. Ask for the sauce on the side with the cheesecake, because the sauce is a little sweet and the cheesecake really doesn't need it. It's incredibly fluffy and decadent, and ranks among one of the best desserts we had on our trip across Europe. I think your best bet is to go here for drinks and dessert, because the rest of the food is pretty hit or miss. Tl;dr: Skip the rest of the food, get happily buzzed on sangria, and dig into cheesecake here - and you'll leave a happy camper. read more

I have been to Noobai on a Sunday for brunch. The place is simple and the highlight are the two terraces with view on the river. We got the "brunch energie" which had a lot of fruits (very good!), scrambled eggs, tomatos and mushrooms, bacon, salmon and cottage cheese. In the brunch it is also included a drink (juice or coffee/tea) all for 14 EUR which is a good price! The juices were freshly made, which is a plus! The strawberry/basil was good and interesting! The bread was nothing special, they could maybe improve that. :) The food was good but nothing exceptional. I wish they had more options for brunch or possibilities to combine different items. Next time I would try to go there for a drink in the sunset! The lunch dishes also looked appealing! read more

Amazing view but very poor food. I ordered monk fish and king prawns pasta and got macaroni, some over cooked fish and a few prawn heads. When I pointed the lack of actual prawns to the waitress, she offered to get it fixed but all that came back was the same plate with a couple more broken bits of prawns. Seeing what was coming on the tables around me, more prawn-less plates and cold dishes that had to be returned I did not accept their offer to swap for another dish. They were kind enough to let me leave without paying for the dish I did not eat though. Hence the 3 stars. read more

Booked this restaurant for dinner for 5 on our trip to Lisbon. Ordered the cod fish and hamburger. Food arrived within a few minutes which in itself was a red flag! The hamburgers were completely raw, just cooked on the outside. The cod fish was obviously frozen and cold in the middle. We called the waiter over to explain and he agreed that the food was raw and offered to replace it . We decided that we would just finish our drinks and leave. The manager came over and asked what our problem was in a very aggressive manner. After explaining the issue , the untouched food was removed and he refused to allow us to leave without paying 50% of the cost of the food. He was rude, obnoxious and very intimidating. I have never had to pay for food that couldn't be eaten! There are so many beautiful bars and restaurants in Lisbon to visit but give this one a miss. Rude management, uncooked food and the 'views' are not worth the visit. A lesson in customer relations would serve the manager well. read more

Another restaurant in the Santa Catarina District of Lisbon with a great view. The food was good, I had the chili cheeseburger, which was a little low on the chili, but big on the beef flavor, although, you're going to need salt, because the patty, although thick and delicious, was under seasoned. I also had a bowl of the chili, which again, was tasty, but lacked the classic chili flavor and strength of cumin that I am used to. You can ask for extra hot sauce, and it was well worth asking for. The chili is served surrounding a pile of rice, and in my case the rice was old and crispy in some areas. The service was good and I had a gin and tonic that was really nice, and pleasantly strong. Noobai has been our local while we've been staying down the hill off of Fernandes Tomás, and it's wonderful. The selection of drinks is ample and reasonably priced. The outdoor deck is lovely even in January. Service is (at least) bilingual, efficient but chill. The view can't be beat. It's a good scene without being obnoxious about it. We decided to go to this place as a friend had recommended it. This place is a mix between Portuguese food and Thai food. Beautiful view in a nice atmosphere, service was quite slow, I'm always ok with that as it was a bit crowded. We ordered some croquettes, a warm beef salad, prawns with almond tempura, a white ice tea (cinnamon with water) and the "amazing" papaya and lime fresh juice (adding water to a juice is always a bad thing to do -ME NO BE HAPPY) . Only to find out that they had just run out of prawns, so we changed it for the vegetables dumplings. The croquettes were decent, tasty and juicy, the beef salad was acceptable for someone who doesn't know what Thai food tastes like (they were really generous with the beef though). Overall we weren't very satisfied, especially after having eaten amazing Portuguese food the previous day. We don't recommend those dishes. Also make sure they have enough papaya in reserve before ordering that juice - to avoid extreme deception and sadness. read more

I think people need to understand there are only two outstanding items on the menu: croquettes and cheesecake. In fact if I ever visit again these are probably the only two things I'll get. Noobai was great! We were visiting Lisbon and stayed about a block away. For the most part you pay for the views here. The food was great, but nothing too special. I had salmon on naan with sundried tomato and greens. The naan was more of a cracker instead of actual naan, but it was tasty nonetheless!
