As well as complimentary bread and butter we received a little pot of sardine paste and a round of delicious cheese as well, this is one of the things I love about eating in Portugal! It's important not to fill up too much though as the portions have a tendency to be large, and this was no exception. I ordered to polvo de galinha (roasted octopus) served with potatoes, onions and olives. It was delicious and really tender. Other dishes included bacalhau (salted cod) and picanha (steak). Even my 15 month old was happy to try everything although he wasn't totally taken with the octopus! Mine was so huge I had to get the rest to take away and there was certainly no room for desserts even though the bulging cabinet looked tempting! The staff were really friendly and accommodating of the little one. And the crab and lobster tank was a great distraction for him.

This would have maybe been forgivable if it hadn't been for the fact that the scallops were awful, the oysters gritty (this is maybe not totally fair as six of the French one's were superb) and the shallot sauce was hardly there. The wine we ordered was okay, but the water we ordered never arrived. The place looked like it was trying to be a classy French bistro, but ended up looking like a the dining room in Fawlty Towers. We knew it wasn't cheap, and the bill was as expected, but I can promise you that it wasn't worth it. We won't be going back, and will be advising visiting friends to avoid it.

We had reservations for a party of 2 on a Saturday at 6 PM. When you check in, they give you a slip of paper which has a QR code on it for you to access the menu later, and we were promptly seated upstairs. The menu is conveniently available in several languages (you select your language at the bottom of the main menu page). We were at a long table for 6, with us sitting on the inside and another couple sitting at the end, and the table settings in between us were cleared, so it didn't feel like we were on top of one another. I appreciated that the server gave recommendations that would be good for two people. We went with most of his recommendations (shrimps on garlic sauce (it's labeled as spicy, but it's really not), clams on garlic, tiger prawns grilled on bed of salt) and added some of our own (razor clams and lobster roll). All the seafood tasted fresh, bursting with flavor from the buttery garlic sauce, which we sopped up with garlic bread. The bread is brought to the table when you first get seated. It's not free, which I was aware of, but I knew it would go well with the dishes we ordered. The razor clams were juicy and sweet. The lobster roll was good, but not something I would order again when there's so many other fantastic seafood choices. I usually don't drink beer, but felt that it was appropriate since we were at a cervejaria, so I ordered a bottle of Sagres Bohemia. It went perfectly with the seafood. My SO, who doesn't drink alcohol, got peach iced tea. I wanted to get the prego sandwich for dessert, but my SO was pretty much full at that point, so I ordered a tarte whisky and a cappuccino for myself. The whisky ice cream layer in the tarte was nice and refreshing. I was shocked when we got the bill and it came out to less than 50€. This meal would have cost so much more in the US. You pay via tablet at the end and I left a generous tip in appreciation of the wonderful meal and service. They get you in and out of there quick, but it never felt like we were being rushed out. I highly recommend this spot if you are looking for some fresh, delicious seafood in Lisbon.

You check in and then they ask you wait in their waiting area next door which looks a little bare and the outside patio seems like a smoking area. After we were called, we walked upstairs to a brightly-lit dining room. Lots of serving staff and all very friendly. Their menu is extensive and it's great they have photos too! My favorites had to be the giant tiger prawn, razor clams, and the crab head, but everything was tasted good and the seafood tasted fresh. Would recommend!
