Our 2016 LG range stove was no longer heating up on the burners or within the oven so we called A Same Day Appliance Repair. Kenny worked with us and was able to come out the following day to take a look. He communicated his arrival time with us and came within the expected time. Kenny was friendly, personable and professional throughout the entirety of the interaction and explained what he was checking before diving into it. Turns out was just the control board needing a reset so after doing that, everything came back on and worked properly. Kenny tested all the burners and different scenarios to make sure there wasn't a bigger issue but since that was all it was, only charged us the $99 service call fee. The service came with a 30 day warranty so Kenny took the time to look at the model and research it a bit while he was here so that, if the issue comes up again, he has some ideas as to what it might be should he need to fix it. We've used ASDAR for other fixes before (washer and dryer) and they are always great and fair in our experience. Highly recommend. read more

Called this company A Same Day Appliance Repair on Feb 12th, fridge would not get cold. Tech came out and installed the relay, (cost $26.00, I checked after) and billed me $249.00 Fast forward to March 25th , 6 weeks later, and the fridge is on the blink again. Called them, same tech came out, and it was the same relay, part was under warranty, no charge for the replacement relay, but the labor charge is $165.!! I'm a independent mechanic, and my hourly rates are billed in 30 min increments and certainly not that high for a 5 minute plug n play relay! Called the company and of course, went to V.M...I'm sending a theme here, install inferior parts, replace for free, and make it back in the labor x 3. Wont be using these guys again. read more

Our fridge water dispenser stopped working. Called J&T Same Day. Paid a $99 service call fee. He gave me a $310 quote to replace the water filter housing. He seemed shady as he didn't really examine my fridge much. Called another company who came out to find that my valve was switched off! J&T were going to rip me off for $310. I don't like to provide negative reviews but this one seems necessary. Our LG refrigerator stopped cooling and all contents spoiled. As with typical customer Service lines, LG had me running in circles so I made the grave mistake of googling local area appliance repair. The folks at "A Same Day" picked up right away and to my surprise were able to get a technician out within an hour - that part was impressive. I asked them on the call if they were able to service LG appliances, they said yes and informed me there would be a service fee for coming out of 79.95. Considering I new it had to be fixed and they could work on it, I said go ahead. An hour later the technician showed up, Kenny, he was nice enough and professional, however after about 2 minutes he said I had a bad compressor and had to call LG. Said he could repair it for $910.49, but had no idea if he could even get the parts. I informed him that I had already talked with LG and they needed a service technician to come out and diagnose and that is why I called them. Here is where I went wrong... This company J&T Services operating as "A Same Day Appliance Repair" is NOT able to work on LG appliances and should not represent to customers that they can. To charge a service fee for work that you are not even authorized to perform is unethical. I paid the $79.95, took a half day off work to stay home, burned 4 hours of Paid Time off to have this company completely waste my time and rip me off. This was not the technicians fault, he was just doing his job, but it is a job he never should have been sent to do. I called LG, told them what happened and provided the name of this company as well. LG Direct agreed to send out a certified technician and cover the full cost of the repairs no matter what was wrong. It is my fault that I called and trusted this company in the first place, but sending out technicians that are not authorized to do the work required and charging customers for it, is totally unethical. The correct response to my initial question of "are you able to service LG Appliances?" Should have been: "Yes, we can work on these appliances, however we are not certified by LG to provide service and we do not work directly with LG in any capacity, in the event your appliance is covered under a manufacturers warranty, we will not be able to provide any service work under the warranty and you will be paying out of your own pocket. If you think your repair may be covered under some form of manufacturers warranty, you need to arrange this service directly through LG. If you still want to proceed with us, all cost, no matter what the issue is will have to be paid by you, would you still like us to come out and diagnose the problem?" Hind sight is 20-20, had I understood this, I never would have had them come out, the technician wouldn't have been placed in an awkward situation, and I never would have been compelled to provide this review. But it seems, the $80 service fee is more important to this company than operating an ethical business. If anyone at J&T cares to read this, consider implementing a system of simple questions with your customers that helps them make informed decisions, you may lose a few service appointments but at least you wont have upset customers whose problems are not resolved, and think you're running a questionable business. read more

Called for refrigerator repairs on a weekend. Appointment was made quick and hassle free. Technician arrived on time. He was prompt and professional. He fixed the problem and explained in detail what it was. Price was very reasonable for being last minute and on a Saturday. Definitely will be using them again. read more

I would not waste my time using this company for any appliance repairs! A service guy came out to address my broken washer issue. There was absolutely no power coming from the washer. The guy opened the lid and told me it would be a $400 to $600 fix for a drain plug and a new switch. Okay cool, had that been the issue... He didn't bring any tools inside to try to find the problem. He charged me $80 to open the lid and then left. I ended up Googling the issue and diagnosed the problem myself! I would have spent $600 on parts that didn't even need to be replaced. Plus an additional $400 for the actual problem, had he even figured that part out -_-. He is completely useless and should not work for any appliance repair company!!!!! I then, called the office to ask for a refund and she told me she can only give me half back. I was told I would receive a check in the mail and I have not received that check yet. That was 3 months ago. I will continue to bash this company on every review site possible! read more

Washer/dryer needed repair at my rental unit. I scheduled service and, as I'm out of town, provided my credit card. The service person didn't show and didn't repair the appliance. I had to use a different company for the repair. A Same Day Repair charged my card, even though they didn't perform the service. I've tried several times to get their management on the phone and I've always been told by their phone service that the management is in a meeting and I never get a return call. I've opened a complaint with the BBB. Stay away from these folks!!!! read more

I called A Same Day Appliance Repair, which I found on the internet. My chest freezer was not freezing and I had lost all my freezer food during the hurricane and I had just restocked it. I called at 9 or 10 am and a repairman showed up in 3 hours. He was great. I would recommend this business to everyone. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! These "people" are thieves!!! My Kenmore refrigerator quit working, and initially I contacted Sears for the repair; unfortunately, Sears had no technicians available for a few days. Since the broken appliance was the refrigerator, I could not wait a few days, so I looked online and found the referenced "company". Jeff came within a couple of hours to fix the fridge. Jeff DID NOT fix the fridge, instead, he requested payment in full for the part needed for the repair. After giving me the run around for weeks, he never delivered the part, repaired the fridge, or refunded my money. After countless phone calls to Jeff, disputes with my credit card company, and requests for a refund to the late wife, they ended up stealing my $300.00 anyway. Our fridge stopped cooling so we called the first repair place that we googled. The first person I spoke to said they could have someone out that day and quoted me one price. I told them I would discuss it and give them a call back. I discussed it with my partner and we decided we were desperate to have a fridge and not spoil our food so I called back 10 minutes later. Someone different answered and said they wouldn't be able to make it out the same day and quoted me a different price. I explained I had just spoke to someone else and the information I'd received was not matching. They agreed to have someone call me if they could come out. The agreement was a set price to come out but that price would be waived once they fixed the fridge. Someone called me 2 hours later saying they could come in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later the technician called to tell me he was here. I let him in, he looked at my fridge for about 30 seconds and said I'm very familiar with these fridges, it's a compressor issue and we can't get this compressor. That will be $69.99 (or something like that). I had offered to give my model number over the phone before he came out and they didn't want it. I didn't think it was fair to pay this money when he was in and out of my house in less than 5 minutes just to tell me he was familiar with this brand and there was nothing he could do. I shared this with him and he said that he came out and diagnosed the problem and that's what I'm paying for!! He could have diagnosed it over the phone if they would have just taken my model # over the phone. He was so familiar with this brand he even said that I could get my money back because there was a law suit or something going on with this fridge and I could join that! I called the company directly to communicate my displeasure, left 2 messages with what they said was an answering service and never received a call back. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!! They are true SWINDLERS!!! I gave them a $200 dollar deposit for work they said would take a couple of weeks, and after 2 MONTHS, and a thousand excuses later, they still NEVER did any work! Every time I called someone would give me a different story. Then they started ignoring my calls... And once I was able to get a hold of them again (calling from a different phone number) the woman who answers the phones (the JEFF's wife) YELLED at me when I complained that my patience had run out, and then she said they were doing me a "favor" by refunding my money. Which they DID NOT DO. "The check is in the mail" is exactly what they told me. And it was not until I threatened to REPORT them to the SHERIFF'S OFFICE that they finally returned my call and sent me a check. Unbelievable. They run this business out of their home, so there is no physical address: i.e. you can not go talk to them in person if you have an issue. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! HORRIBLE PEOPLE! On Sept 28, 2012 I called "A same day appliance repair". I told them my freezer was not working, They came out on that Friday and said they had to order a part and would be back wednesday of the following week. They wanted half down. I paid $101.00 on my credit card. I never heard from them again. I had to call and call and call, they kept telling me they would call me back but they never do, I finally talked to a man name Jeff, claiming he was the owner and he said he was sorry and would refund my $101.00. I never recieved that refund, nor will he pick up the phone or return my phone calls. I am still trying to get my money back. My advice, is never deal with this company. read more

Jeff robbed me too! He came to diagnose my GE dryer and told me it needed a new timer. He told me he had to order it from St Louis and that would take a week. He also required a $100 deposit. The next day, I located the required part within 20 minutes of my house myself. When replacing the timer, I discovered there was nothing wrong with my original timer. It sure looks like Jeff is a classic upsell scammer. He promised a refund, but of course hasn't sent it and won't return my calls or e-mails. Isn't this a franchise company? Has anyone found a national franchise headquarters? I'll keep looking! read more

Jeff from Same Day Appliance Repair came to my home on 10/9. He claimed my dryer problem was a faulty door latch and that I needed a new ice maker for my GE refrigerator. He wrote up a bill for the ice maker and the door latch cabling to the tune of over $477. He promised ice maker would be installed on Saturday or Monday. I paid by credit card. Then, before they left, the original problem showed up again on my dryer. He went to check it out and announced I needed a new timer. He said it would be Tuesday or Wednesday before he could get it, and since his diagnosis of the problem was wrong, he offered me a discount on the timer. All repairs were to be completed on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. On Wednesday 10/15 I called for an update. At first he said they'd already installed the ice maker. No. So he said to give him a few minutes and he'd call back. No call back. When I called a couple of hours later he said he was waiting for a call from his supplier and would get back to me in a couple of hours. He never did. So I called the following morning, 10/16, and he told me he had my ice maker and expected the dryer timer the following afternoon. He said the repair would be done on Saturday, and promised to call on the afternoon of 10/17. He did not call, so I called again. Now all I get is his voicemail. At this point, with my appliances still broken, I am going to arrange for the CC company to charge the whole thing back to him, the ice maker I never got, and the dryer door assembly I never needed. I had basically the same experience as others on this site. Jeff diagnoses the problem, asks for a deposit of $100 on your credit card for the parts, but then never returns to fix the problem. He told me that my washer needed a new "shift control board." After I finally had the certified GE technician come out to fix my washer - after I called Jeff for over three weeks and kept getting his voicemail - the GE tech said that a "shift control board" does not even exist in a washer, that I was scammed. He charged the entire quoted amount to my credit card as well, even though it was only supposed to be the deposit. When I called the office (apparently his wife), she denied any records of repairs or charges - I could not believe my ears! They change their company name, website, phone numbers, all info after they have scammed people and move on to the next bunch. My advice - call a certified technician, because dealing with this company is like flushing your money down the toilet. read more

Made an appointment with A Same Day Appliance, my washer wasn't working at all. Also, my dryer was not drying like I think it should. The repair man told me that all that was needed for my dryer was a good cleaning of the vent. My washer just needed a new switch. Thank you for being a good honest business, and not doing repairs that were not needed. I would recommend this business to all that need a good appliance repair service. read more

I contacted this company to take a look at my GE Profile Refrigerator's icemaker. The verdict was an immediate replacement to the tune of $200+, by Jeff, the owner. The next day, the new icemaker was exhibiting the same symptom as mine. I called them out again and this time a young man came out who checked a spring. He told me the spring simply popped out of place and he put it back in. It took 15 seconds and it worked. So it dawned on me, maybe thats what was wrong with mine in the first place. I asked this young man to put my icemake back in with the spring in place. He commented, "shhhhh, dont tell the owner". Then he told me "Jeff should have known to check the spring, its the first thing they do". Needless to say, my icemake works just fine and it was the spring all along. I called Jeff to take back his icemake and refund me, initially he said he would. I have been calling and calling without a response from Jeff. I hate to think that Jeff needlessly replaced an icemaker that didnt need to, but thats exactly what happened. Please do not get involved with these people. Similar instances have been written about them on the internet, including the BBB. By the way, they are not accredited by the BBB. Im not surprised. read more

I have spent 19 weeks waiting for my dryer to be fixed by this company. Every time I call (daily) I am told either that he will have to call me back or that I will have to speak to Jeff (the "president" but also my repairman). He never calls back. He claims to have ordered this part from 2 different sources, Sears and some unnamed other company. He claims to have ordered the part from Sears 3 times. I have repeatedly requested the order numbers to check on it myself and he never calls back with it. NO calls have been returned for over 2 weeks now. I have looked them up online and found their fictitious name and corporate records and thus their address. No address is in the phone book and he keeps saying the parts have been shipped to his home. I have now checked with Sears and he has NEVER ordered the part I have been waiting for all this time. THESE ARE THE WORST SERVICE PEOPLE IN HISTORY. read more
