I called the number present on Google maps for A smile 4 u. I was attempting to reach the east point location regarding an appointment which was today for my son. The lady who answered the phone was rude and not helpful when I simply asked for information regarding the address for the east point location. I called back to ask her if I could speak with a MANAGER in her office and she kept forwarding me to the east point location where I was being sent directly to voicemail every time I called. I finally gave up I guess my son won't be having his first dentist appointment like scheduled! Disgusting unprofessional practice and people. read more

My elderly mother fell and broke a tooth, so we were looking for a dentist who could repair it. We asked them specifically if they could repair it if we brought her in that day and were told yes. When we got there, the story changed, that they would take x rays, examine her, and then reschedule her for the actual repair work. We were charged $250 for the visit. We said this is not what we were told, and they said they would issue a partial refund. It's been three weeks and we are still waiting on that partial refund. We found another dentist the same day who gladly did the work, and for less than half the price that A Smile 4U was going to charge. My recommendation....keep moving...you can find something better... read more

My experience was ok. The lobby was kinda messy. There was garbage on the floor in the lobby and restroom. They did not check temp before entering. Then they have the audacity to charge a $5 covid clean up fee, when the place seems barely clean. Not too sure I will be going back. Because of covid people want to see doctors offices almost spotless...this office failed badly in this category. If I could give them ZERO stars I would! Let me start by; When I made the appointment, the lady that took my info took FOREVER getting it. She needed name, bday, insurance info, where my husband worked and everything else... Ok that was fine. Now to the DAY of the appointment. I get a call about an hour and a half before the appointment about "her not being under the insurance that she clearly IS under, and that I needed to give them the right insurance or i'd have to pay out of pocket. Keep in mind i'm having to get ME and MY TWO YEAR OLD ready for this dentist appointment to be there on time... We get there and I give her the insurance card and she proceeds to tell me that she called and asked for it over the phone and that if i didn't give it to her OVER THE PHONE that the whole appointment would be payed out of pocket! SHE LITERALLY HAD THE INSURANCE CARD IN HER HAND. No, she wanted to me to give it to her BEFORE I came. Which is the dumbest thing that I have EVER heard. Needless to say, we will not be coming back to them. read more

Very poor experience with this office. The initial visit was great and things seemed very in order. Upon the second visit we were told that there was a new dentist my children would be seeing today. If he found anything "new" (4 weeks from last apt) that it would be fixed on the spot. I questioned this and was met with attitude from the front desk staff immediately. My son was taken back and then I was called up to be informed that they found 2 (maybe 3) "new deep cavities" that hadn't been seen before that would need work done today also and would cost another $70 out of pocket. I hesitated and questioned this again and stated I did not expect this cost and did not have this at this time. I was informed they would do the work anyways and add this balance to his account. All future appointments will be cancelled until it is paid though. Great. The staff up front continues to throw more shade and attitude and says they don't know how it happened or what to say but the dentist says it's need to be done. So ‍ My youngest is now back for his fillings. The dentist once again recommends putting him to sleep and I decline this option. The dentist now throws his hands up and says he cannot finish this work with my son having tears in his eyes (not actively crying- just teary eyed from the numbing shot) and that I truly should do the ivc. It is the only option. We left there and made an appointment elsewhere for a second opinion. One week later and my oldest son cannot eat without having a toothache after. One of the ones worked on last week, of course. I cannot wait to see the other dentist tomorrow for a second opinion. read more

I have never been to any sort of health care provider office and received such lack luster service. First, I arrived at my appointment, also my daughter's and was told I needed to pay over $260 for routine cleanings. Would have been nice to know when I scheduled the appointment that I would need to. Ok whatever, I go every 6 months like clock work, it is what it is. I pay it. Next, I get my xrays and then am told that I will need to schedule a cleaning. I've never been to a dentist office that has done this. It's always in the same day. They tell me they can work me in in an hour. That sucks but whatever, so after waiting 2 hours I go to check if I'm soon and it will be at least another hour. I cancel. I would have just canceled and went to another dentist but I had already already upfront and didnt trust this practice to reimburse me so I scheduled for another day but cancelled my son's and husband's appointments. This is something that should have been told me to at the time I scheduled my appointments for my entire family so that I could have canceled at that time. 3rd, I looked up my insurnace EOB and noticed they overcharged me. I called the office and left a message for billing. Never received a call back. Honestly forgot about it. Until I received a bill from a smile 4 u for $130!! Wtf. They owe me $55 and are charging me $130. I called my insurance company and they confirmed i was 100% correct and that a smile 4 u not only double billed my insurance company they are going against their contractual agreement. Delta de tal is going to be contacting a smile 4 u and they said i will get my money back because a smile 4 u is the 100% in the wrong. Also, they did a panoramic xray of mydaughter, she only gets 1 every 5 years and just had one less than a year ago but didnt even ask me if it was ok. I should only have to pay$37 of this but they are demanding $120. I told them I'm absolutely not paying $120, I'll pay the $37 I owe but I dont feel like i should have to pay any because the xray shouldn't have been done period but they are trying to make all the money they can. Yes, I was rude with the billing department but it was only after being dicked around and getting yelled at by Anne or whatever her name is. The dentist should be embarrassed by their staff, especially the billing department. I would let my teeth never be cleaned again before I return to this practice. Also, I had to call *67 because they evidently screen their calls and wouldn't take mine, and this was before I got rude with them. When I blocked my number funny how they answer after calling 12 times with it unblocked. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this practice. I promise you will regret it and will probably over pay. If you decide to go anyway, be sure to triple check your eob because they have some very shady practices. . read more

This office charges $100 LESS than the one that wanted to schedule us 2 months after A smile 4 u. That's insane. Prices and scheduling options they get 5 stars. Clear your entire morning or afternoon because you will probably be there for a couple of hours. Sit in the waiting room for an hour and you'll be out an hour and half later ... 2.5 hours in total. My brother had an appointment scheduled last month and when we showed up for it they said the dentist who was going to do his cavity filling wasn't in so we had to reschedule. They didn't even call us or send a message. Then we go again on the rescheduled day and the place isn't even open and is "closed for renovations." I WANDER IF A SMILE 4 YOU POST CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS. I had to take my granddaughter there yesterday. My daughter always complains about how long they wait. Well I found out. I think it is ridicules for a 6 year old to be sitting in the back for over 2 hours for a filling. I will assume they kept her under gas the whole time. Because there is no way she could have sat still for over 2 hours. I have never gone to a dentist that took that long. She said they only had 1 dentist. They should not have scheduled so many people if they couldn't get them out at a reasonable time. I wish she would have jumped around flipping etc. like she does at home. This happened when my mother took her. I took her last month for some teeth on her right side to be filled wnd it took 3 and half hrs for her to finally come out my daughter is 6 hesrs old and she doesn't sit for long no where not even at home. So for her to sit this long both times meand they had her under for this long. Is bull crap and something needs to be done about it. Then when you go for a cleaning they don't give you a appointment card like most places do for your next appointment they call 6 mo ths later to let you know the day before that she has appointment I am a single mother that works 6 days a week. My kids had 2 appointments in the same week. Which is ok, what's is not ok is having an appointment@ 3:15 getting there at 2:40 and sitting until 4:30. I understand sometimes you have to wait things happen. However our next appointment was for Saturday @10&11. We arrive at 9:30, they call one of my kids back at 11:30 for his 10:00 appointment. So finally around 1:00 my 11:00 appointment is ready to go back. He comes out around 2:40. So unless you have half of a day to hang out at a dentist office I wouldn't recommend. I will say we have been going there for 4 years and up to this point they have been really good! read more

My daughter was so upset about a simple filling, which she has done in the past. Then I was informed that the procedure, which had been started, would have to be rescheduled due to her being upset because the doctor was pregnant and could not use the gas. I think that I should have been informed before my appointment of that because I would have not wasted half of my day knowing that my children have a bit of anxiety and would not be calm without the gas. This is not the first issue I have had. In the past I have come in and waited for 5 or more hours, but let that slide. I was in an obscene amount of pain when I arrived at this office this afternoon, as a walk-in after an early morning ER visit. With a misdiagnosis from the ER Dr. the dentist was brilliant. He took care of my needs and performed oral surgery within an hour of getting registered and getting my insurance cleared for my emergency extraction. With an infection under the big hole of a cavity he gave me 2 options. I was given the nitrate gas and charged $209 cash without giving my approval to use it. He did say that I needed it, to relax me. I didn't say no and it didn't work. But, I endured what seemed to be a challenging extraction. I was even stitched up. I think I want to get my whole mouth fixed by this dentist. He is just so, so intelligent and not shaken by my complicated conditions. Everyone was so, so empathetic in the office and treated me very well, with care and concern. I could elaborate more, but I'm in pain and need to rest. read more

Today was the worst experience I've ever had at the dentist. Unfortunately, I was not the patient - my three-year-old daughter was. I made the 8 am appointment a month ago after researching which pediatric dentists in our area were covered under our insurance. I called the Cartersville, Georgia office multiple times with no answer. Finally, I just made the appointment online. Then, I had to confirm my appointment multiple times - via calling and texting. Who has time for that?! I made sure to let them know that it was my daughter's first time at the dentist over the phone. I did not know I had to ask specifically for a pediatric dentist - because she's three. Why wouldn't they put a first time (ever) patient that's three with the right dentist or tell me otherwise? I tried to make the experience light and fun for my daughter, but that didn't work because no one else was doing so. Maybe they should read this article! Of course, she was scared. She didn't know what to expect even with me trying to explain it all to her (which was hard, because I didn't know what to exactly expect - she's our first, so first kid to take to dentist). Plus, it was a new place with new people. The dental hygienist was okay - she got the job done and managed to put my daughter at ease. The dentist came in and was obviously in a hurry. He had other patients, and my daughter was the least of his concern. He seemed upset that she was scared, even though he did not introduce himself to her, approach her in a caring way or explain what was going to happen on her level. That's when I found out he wasn't a pediatric dentist. He left the room for my daughter to calm down. His assistant came in to tell me that he was very busy with multiple patients. He was going to turn us away and make us reschedule. But I insisted that he see her today. After all, I'm a working mom, made the appointment a month ago and am paying. I shouldn't have - we should've left. He wasn't even with us for five minutes total (what a joke). I see my own dentist longer than that. Anyone with an appointment should have the ability to speak to the dentist, ask questions and get thorough treatment, even a scared three year old. That's what appointments are for. Why wouldn't he have time for her? I understand he's not a pediatric dentist, but why couldn't he have talked to her to let her know what was going on and to maybe crack a joke or two to put a smile on her face. That's all she needed. It's called patient care. It's called empathy. And another note - clean up patient rooms. There was an air pump just sitting out right next to the chair I was in and a trash can lid on the floor. Not kid friendly at all! We will never go back to this office again. We both left in tears, and I fear that my daughter is going to be too scared to see a dentist again. read more

I have to give 1 star just so I can share my experience but they do not even deserve that. I have been taking my kids to the Dalton location for a few years now and about 1 year ago my daughter had a few cavities and they took care of that paid my portion up front and seemed to have done a good job since my daughter had no issues. 1 year or so later I take her back to her cleaning they tell me one of the cavities had a crack and had to be fixed, again I pay my portion of this and her cavity gets redone. A few days go by and my daughter complains about pain when she chews so I figured she was sore and told her to wait a few more days but the pain did not go away so I called to set up an apt and had to wait a few more days since it had to be the same dentist that worked on her cavity that had to see her. According to the front desk girl dentist do not like to look over the work of other dentist. I take her to the apt and I am advised that we have a balance which has to be paid in order to have her seen. I asked why since I have always paid my part upfront. They tell me that the insurance did not pay for my son's cleaning and other things that were billed to them. I asked her to print me a detailed bill of what was not paid and I would call the insurance company but asked if my daughter could still be seen since the bill has nothing to do with her issue but was advised that as long as I had a bill they would not see her. I decided to stay in the waiting area and called my insurance who assures me they have paid their portion of what has been billed to them so they asked me to verify the dates and turns out it was for services from 2018. The insurance company advised me that they never received this billing and I should not be responsible for them not filling this on time. I advised the front desk girl what the insurance company tells me but she tells me there is nothing she can do I would have to call the billing department, she even tells me to try calling them while she does the same because it is hard to reach them (her words exactly). I called many times while still in the waiting room and no answer not even a voicemail where I could leave a message to call me back. I go back to the front desk and asked to please have someone look at my daughter and offered to pay this bill to have someone see her and asked that once the issue with the insurance company gets resolved I can just get the credit or gave them make me a check for what ever I over pay but could not get a yes from her. I left upset but was never rude and just said I would just keep trying to call the billing department. I left with my daughter still in pain. I spent ALL day calling the billing department and never got anyone to answer, again not even an answering machine. I received a call from the front desk girl (not the billing dept) advising me that they reviewed my account and I was still responsible for the bill. I paid it (yes I know how stupid of me) I was never able to take my daughter back because we were leaving the country to go visit a sick family member during the Thanksgiving break. While out of the country I made my daughter and apt with the family dentist. They took x-rays of the tooth that was hurting and turns out they did not fix it they just patched it up leaving the crack on her tooth (I have the x-ray to prove this). The dentist removed everything that A smile 4 you had done and started over. Then he asked when was her last cleaning and I advised him that A Smile 4 u had done it 2 weeks ago and he proceeded to show me how much tartar was in her back teeth and how he had to remove it. I was very mad but just glad someone had gotten her taken care of. We are back home now and I have received the statement from my insurance company showing where they had covered their part of the bill. I continue to call the billing department, still no answer or answering machine. If I go to the office they advise me they can't help me that I have to call the billing department and there is no manager at this location that can help either. read more

Most of the staff, minus the dentists seem miserable. Young woman at front desk is clearly unhappy at this job and is cold and unfriendly. And the staff turnover is high. I called this place on Saturday January 26th at 802 am. They have hours of 8-3 on Saturday. I told them my child was experiencing pain and wanted to see if possible to get him in that day. The lady on the phone said she would get the message to the scheduler and call me back. After 2 hours i called again and said i just wanted make sure i wasn't forgotten, was it normal not to get a call back sooner. This lady said she would send the message again and let them know this was my 2nd call. It sounded as if whoever answered the phone wasn't located in the actual dentist office. Well it is now Tuesday January 29th and have not heard from them at all! Not even a call on Saturday to say sorry we can't get him in today but let's get him scheduled ASAP . Nothing. Let me start off by saying that we had been going to A smile 4 u for the last 7 years. Over the last few years things have definitely changed! I started to notice when my youngest all of the sudden developed a fear of getting work done on her mouth. She was about 8 then. I tried switching to a different dentist which worked well for her, but not my oldest kids at the time. Then the new dentist no longer accepted our insurance so we went back to ASmile4u. I honestly believe the current staff is not as qualified or knowledgeable or professional as was the staff when we first started coming! An example is, my 15 year old daughter was having a problem with a tooth while she had braces on. We took her in to have it checked. We could see a line in it. We were told there was NOTHING wrong with it. A few weeks after that it broke. Took her in that day to have it fixed. Problem was that it kept hurting her. We went back two times more because of the pain. They then told me she needed a root canal! That she probably needed it all along. Right! On a tooth that there was "nothing wrong" with so they said. So being that I'm not a dummy, I've been able to get her and my children in to a new dentist in Marietta (for a second opinion) where I personally know people and will not be lied to or my children neglected! An issue right off the bat that the new dentist noticed is that her bite is off. And yes you can have pain or issues if your bite is off! She just had braces taken off from ASmile4u. Her bite should not be an issue right?! We are looking at the possibility of more braces!! I highly recommend to anyone to avoid all franchise dentists! And ASmile4u is a franchise! They are about the money and meeting a quota. Find a small dentist where you aren't going to see a new face every time you go, and that you can trust! Something else my daughter said is that they talk to her like she's a baby and this last time we were there the orthodontist, who was rude to us, was mad that I was calling them out so he took it out on her and because her head wasn't back all the way he just shoved it back without asking her nicely to put it back. Also if you do decide on them, better take a whole day off for your appointments. I have other friends who have been ripped off as well. I didn't know about it till recently when expressing my frustration about this with them. In fact, the person I was sitting next to for Ortho was also upset with them and done! I called at 1 p.m. on my daughter's appointment to see if it was ok that we would be maybe 20 minutes late because she is in a boot cast and didn't get off the bus until 4 pm so I explained also I am disabled and she wouldn't be able to push me in, And the guy receptionist told me if there was a problem about being late that I could reschedule the appointment. So no one called so I took my daughter and we made it there 19 minutes before the 20 minutes and there was no message from them to say no. So we get there and my daughter had to gimp in there to turn around and get another appointment because she was over the 15 minute mark. And I called them prior to this, I was so mad because again I am in a wheel chair plus my daughter had a boot on. So I get home and magically there was a message saying it was to late to cover her ass! NOT HAPPY FATHER! They couldn't walk a block in my shoes how ignorant to wait to call after 4 PM! read more
