I called a couple places that had been recommended to me...they all seemed frustrated with my questions. Then, I called DownEast Smile Company and inquired about them accepting new patients. Not only were they accepting new patients, but Cheyenne was very accommodating and helped me verify my insurance was accepted. To add the cherry on top, I was able to schedule an appointment the next day! Not even kidding! Fast-forward to yesterday, I had my teeth cleaned by a super thorough and friendly hygienist named, Jenni. It also should be noted that they have a lot of technology that MAKES the patient experience... From massaging dental chairs to portable x-ray machines to 3-D images of your teeth. High five! I was also able to see Dr. Merandi yesterday, And let me tell you... I felt like I had been her patient for years and immediately trusted she had my well-being in mind. Dr. Merandi, Cheyenne, and Jenni all provided an elevated patient experience. The building is GORGEOUS. The rooms are COMFY. The hours are CONVENIENT. The atmosphere is WELCOMING. The care is PHENOMENAL. I truly feel it would be hard-pressed to find this level of service anywhere else in Cartersville!

He is a stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma cancer survivor, and after six months of chemotherapy, he developed several health issues, including a severe oral infection that antibiotics couldn't cure. He eventually lost all of his teeth. His oral surgeon led him to believe that dental implants would be the next step after his full dental extraction, but afterwards he was told implants were never part of his dental plan and that he wasn't even a candidate for dental implants. I was angry and he was devastated. Then I contacted Affordable Dentures & Implants, on his behalf and everything changed. I shared his story, and they gave him hope when he thought he had none left. Today, he is living proof that dental implants are possible no matter what you've been told. They treated him with kindness and respect, and they made sure he was completely satisfied with the results. He has his smile back and couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Affordable Dentures & Implants. See them first, and I guarantee they'll likely be your final choice.

The day of my procedure, they said they were prescribing three different pain killers, the steroids and the antibiotics I was supposed to have already been prescribed. The pharmacy again did not get a prescription for the antibiotics. Since it was 5:15 pm when I realized this, we called and left a voicemail on the after hours line. They never called back. The prescription for the antibiotics finally went in the next day but since I was on pain killers and couldn't drive, I didn't get them until the following day. Turns out that even though I talked the dentist through my medical history at length - including that I was immunocompromised (they also had my med list showing this), and had a history of infection and sepsis, he still prescribed a strong steroid. In hindsight, I should have looked more into the steroid since I had never been on it before, but I trusted them not to prescribe me something that would make an immunocompromised person even more immunocompromised without telling me. I've been in the ER twice since the procedure two weeks ago, and still am fighting an antibiotic resistant infection and a seperate skin infection that being immunocompromised by the steroid caused. If the infection isn't improving by tomorrow, I'll be admitted to in-patient care until it is, meaning I miss even more work after already having 10 days of not being paid. On top of this, they gave me the post-procedure directions for the wrong procedure and only one of the pages of directions for the correct procedure. At this point, I likely won't be going back to even get the bridge and crown that's supposed to be going into the implants. I'd rather be missing four teeth than risk getting another infection. This is all after a two hour wait for my consultation appointment. I was fine with it at the time, they were unexpectedly short-staffed and things happen. But they never once said anything to me in the waiting room saying they were behind and clearly they rushed through the appointment if they didn't even talk about me taking medications for the procedure or send them in.

So I went to aspen dental and met with Dr. Patel and Shane the guy that made them for the Cartersville office I explained what I had been through with the original dentist office and asked them if they could help me and make a set of dentures I could wear and eat with. If they didn't feel they could I understood and I would continue searching. BOTH assured me they could make a set I would be very happy or I wouldn't have to pay for anything I wasn't completely happy with. I was so relieved and started the process immediately. The dentures looked amazing but the fit wasn't right on the top I had sores and if I bit down on one side the denture would pull loose on the other. And It would not touch the roof of my mouth. He did 2 realignments and many visits where I had sores. There was always a different girl working on them. I was never rude and told them I don't mind coming back as long as we trying to get them right. Each visit they were less friendly and One told me I need to hold my jaw in a different way. I was upset at her remark and said I'll just come back when I can see the dentist. Dr. Patel met with me and told me there was nothing else he could do for me. I said so that's it? He said yes. I was in shock. He gave me no alternative nothing. He just sent me out the door. I didn't know what to do. I tried calling the main company number never received a call back. I finally got an appointment with the dentist that owns cville office. When I walked in she immediately stated I could not get a refund because the timeframe was passed. I told I didn't want my money back I wanted my dentures to fit. She looked at them did the routine with the spray and said the denture did touch the top of my mouth. I stated no it did not and I could not eat with them bc as stated b4 I bite on one side it pulls away from the other. Honestly it was like the denture would stop or get stuck b4 it could get to my gum. She did a couple of adjustments then told me I would have to see a surgeon to have some bone scraped then come back and she realign them and they would be fine. $150 just for a consultation to where she wanted to send me. Absolutely not. This office is nothing but a denture mill. You will be stuck with what they give you happy or not. They will make sure they are nice and doing whatever it takes to get your denture right until you get past the time period for refunds. Then that's it. No more nice from any staff. I went back to get see if they fix a spot that was making a sore when I did wear them. The tech told me no that spot can't be done. I haven't been back but I have to pay that payment every month. I only put them when I'm in public. My speech is off when I wear them. They move around and I can't even sing at church anymore. Since they don't touch the roof of my mouth I can't even glue them in. All I can do is share my experience and pray people read it before they go there. I'm about to make the final payment so maybe I can find somewhere else that will help me.

When I asked about the tooth being close to the nerve, he laughed at me and said verbatim, "I've done thousands of these surgeries and never had a patient with nerve damage, you won't be the first." I can't possibly write everything that happened to me here in this small space, but my life is forever changed by this surgery. It has been over two years now, and the nerve damage to my lip, chin, jaw, teeth, and gums is permanent. He never took my concerns seriously, and his demeanor towards me changed entirely when I said I thought I had nerve damage. Before surgery, he was so warm and kind. Once it was clear I had nerve damage, everything changed. He was cold, entirely unsympathetic, and SO angry at me for asking questions, for being concerned. I've also had to make dentist appointments since where they were shocked by the poor quality of his work. I have to live with this every second of every day, and I am always terrified the horrific neuropathy I experienced for the first two months will return. Not only that, but two weeks after the dentists at Atlanta Oral and Facial Surgery in Cartersville (Hall and Etezadi) knew I had nerve damage, my cousin (who had no idea what was happening with me) went for her own wisdom tooth to be looked at. Her tooth was also close to a nerve and she asked about it. Dr. Etezadi, the other dentist there, told her they had NEVER had a patient with nerve damage. I had met with Etezadi about my nerve damage only two weeks prior! It is unbelievable what they are doing to people. This was traumatizing, I will live with it for the rest of my life, and it is only a tiny fraction of what happened to me. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. PLEASE go to someone else.
