Linda was so genuinely helpful when we came in to address our issue. We went to our storage unit on Thanksgiving to get our Christmas items and noticed our key no longer fit the lock. Someone had taken our lock off and put a completely different one on there. Linda got on the phone with HR to see how to handle our issue. They explained the steps to her on how this should be handled just in case we needed to file a police report if we had any items missing. The person that normally cuts the locks off wasn't there, but she didn't want us to wait for him to get back and wanted to help us resolve this. She was fast, professional, genuine, kind, and very helpful. She was able to cut off the old lock so we could put a new one on. Her management and customer service skills are far above the ordinary. Thankfully, nothing was missing from our unit and we did not need to file a police report. We have been customers there since 2016 and this is the first issue we've had. Thank you Linda!! read more

I transferred my storage to this company a couple months ago. After one month, i realized i needed a smaller unit. This would have incurred a charge for moving from one size to another size. Sam, the manager, was gracious to us to waive the transfer fee. In these economic times, it is pleasing to know there are businesses still around helping to stretch the way. Great place to rent !!! No varmin/mice issues here and the rates very rarely go up and when they do it is minimal. Can't argue with the gate hours and they have a very unique, state of the art laser security system so your stuff is safe !!! The fine folks here quite literally just stole $100.00 from me upon move-out earlier today, without any offer of assistance or service in any way. Nice way to thank an excellent and loyal customer of over two years who always paid the rent well before the due date, removed all items within four days of giving the required 14-day notice in writing, and cleaned/swept out the unit prior to final departure. $100.00 may not be much of a loss for some people, but for me, it is a meaningful amount of money that would have been used to pay a utility bill or put food on my table. To anyone considering renting a unit here: 1) Pay your rent on the due date each month, and never a day sooner. 2) Give your 14-day notice to vacate in writing EXACTLY 14 days before your next rent payment is due and do not vacate the unit until exactly that fourteenth day. I wish the circumstances had been different, but I cannot with good conscience recommend this facility after they placed the value of $100.00 in pre-paid rent over quality service and a focus on the customer. read more

Horrible, Horrible experience with Southwest Self Storage. I rented a storage unit, with basically my whole home in it and when we went to move into our new home, just about 1/2 of what was in the storage was ruined. Not just a few things, I'm talking about bed frames, dressers, couches. Our storage was flooded out! Anything that was touching the ground was ruined and anything that was touching the back wall was ruined. I spoke to the "Manager" Deryl and there was no apology, nothing! When my husband talked to the guy at the front desk he said that he was waiting for us to move out of that unit because the walls needed to be sealed. So, he basically told us that they KNEW that there were issues prior to us that had not been fixed, which was obvious, with how much water was coming out of the top of our unit. I spoke to Deryl again and he was extremely rude and unprofessional and told me too bad.He yelled at me over the phone and told me basically to get over it. I let him know that I would be contacting some people and he said ok ill give you $250...ummm so now you are trying to give me money, when you said you were not in the wrong. If you were not in the wrong or not liable for the damage then why would you be trying to give me money? On top of this, the thing that gets me very upset, its not the $$$ of the things we have had to replace but its the things that I cannot replace... like my daughters first blanket, or her going home out fit, Or my other daughters baby book that had her hospital foot and hand prints, or her wrist bands from the hospital or her first strand of baby hair that was saved from her first hair cut. ALL GONE!!! I cannot ever replace those memories, because someone rented me out a space that obviously needed repairs. I WILL NOT AND DO NOT EVER recommended this storage place to anyone. read more

I have had a unit here for over 6 years. Recently (within the last 2 years) the price has increased with zero notice. It went from $100 to $110 to $120 and held steady for a year, then $130 and just today I see I was charged $150.?? I would have expected and appreciated a notice and explanation for any of the price increases, but most certainly for this last doozy. That's just bad business. Wife and I had rented two storage units from this place for approx. eight months. Initially, we agreed to pay $260/month for the two units. During the eight month period, the rate increased on both units, raising the total price to $350/month. To make matters worse, one of the units experienced a rat infestation. I'm not one to brag, but we had tens of thousands of dollars worth of high end furniture, a couch from Restoration Hardware, that was ruined, because rats not only pooped, but urinated on it as well; appliances, tools, a safe, and new baby clothes/toys to name a few. My wife brought the infestation to one of the employees' attention (unknown name), who told her he had never seen that before, but he conveniently had several rat traps on his golf cart, which he put in our unit. After the rate increases, and the infestation, we opted to go to another nearby company, who doesn't raise their rates. Unfortunately, this required us to move everything in two days, because we wanted to avoid being billed again; however, we miscalculated our billing time by a day or two (our fault). We thought they'd prorate us for the two days, but they refused to do so, as it's not in their policy, so we paid another $350. We also explained our dissatisfaction with the rodent infestation in their unit, to which they didn't apologize, but told us they'd sweep up all the leftover feces. On the outside, the facility looks clean and maintained, but that's where it stops. The employees have zero empathy, and the policies are not only archaic, but borderline criminal with regard to predatory rate increases. I'd advice anybody to take their money and keepsakes elsewhere. I feel this company doesn't even deserve the obligatory 1 star. read more
