Liz took all of my requests into consideration and gave me an absolutely wonderful haircut (not an easy thing to do considering how thick my hair is and how long it had grown.) More than that, she was incredibly kind and made me feel well taken care of throughout my appointment. All of the staff that I interacted with were warm and professional. Everyone was also very careful and aware of COVID protocols, which to me was an added bonus. The only negative for me going in was the cost (a bit pricier than what I can afford since I'm still in school) but honestly... I really think it was completely worth it. I received a gift certificate for Christmas, so my mom and I made an appt for a cut/style for me and a glaze treatment for my mom. I was nervous because I couldn't find any reviews for my stylist, so I figured I would write one. Jessica Lach is AWESOME!! She has been a stylist for 20 years, and she is up to date on techniques, cuts, color, treatments, etc... She gave me the exact hair cut I wanted, and my mom's (chemically straightened) hair looked gorgeous!! Jessica took her time giving us meticulous service. My mom and I are the toughest critics out there, so for us to both walk out happy is nothing short of a miracle. I'm a people watcher by nature, so I was taking in the other happenings in the salon as well. I noticed the other stylist ( also named Jessica) gave two amazing cuts/ color while I was there; she does beautiful work on loyal clients. The whole staff is independent but they all seemed to work well together concerning walk in appts and supportive of one another in general. I've been to some real catty places, so the no-tension deal felt pretty nice.There's also two massage therapists upstairs, and I saw two clients leave happy. The waiting area is cozy, very clean, and has really comfy chairs. The only reason I didn't give a 5th star is walk-ins are "welcome", but I saw people get turned away or have a long wait. It's not even a guarantee the salon will be open at all, as all stylists are independent and make their own hours. I strongly suggest calling ahead and making an appt so you're not disappointed. There is also no social media site for the current status of the salon, so I couldn't find any reviews or portfolios online, which made me uneasy going in. RUN! The OWNER IS A CROOK! I went to this Salon/ Garage from a referral from my neighbor as my…read moresalon closed. I sent pics. Prior and asked if she thought she could achieve what I was looking for. She said, oh yes no problem! Well, my hair was blonde with some growth at the root. I had some brown and gray and the back was pretty much my natural color. She colored my hair BLACK! ALL OF IT! Then, when I went into shock and said I wanted to stop, she took her arms put them on each side of me, on the arms of the chair and blocked me in and in my face, said I needed to let her finish. I knew my hair was never going to be what it was and putting highlights on the black hair was going to look ridiculous. She then took me outside and just drilled it into my head how it was blonde. PLEASE UNDERSTAND, I WAS IN SHOCK! I let her finish, people go with your gut, I knew and didn't, feeling so pressured! I should have known when there was hair all over the floor at her station, and she said I didn't have to wear a mask and she didn't wear one the whole time I was there. I will say her employees did. She then did the worst highlights I ever had done, her "assistant" just slopped color on a brush handed it to her and hopefully I can show the bunched up foils on here. Not even folded. I get my hair done every 3 weeks at least cut as its short so I know how it goes. THE CUT... She butchered it, I now look like a spotty leppard. I have a huge long BALD spot down the back of the left side of my head where she used a hand razor which I told her I don't like razors and kept chopping at the spots of color to break them up instead of putting color over them. I waited until the next evening to write her as I cried for two days mortified. She never said sorry she took $240 and refused to refund me anything. I wrote her kindly to see if she would refund me without asking letting her know How unhappy I was and she said she hopes I find someone that can give me what I'm looking for. She bashed my old stylist, whom I said was able to lift my color and did a great job but wasn't returning as she was pregnant and they went out of business sadly. The salon is NOT worth the money and she should have refunded me my money she couldn't fix me going around with a huge bald spot. She a dirty woman! She took my money and waited to tell me the cost until after I was colored.. I've never paid so much for a mess. I have gone to high end salons and yes have paid almost this much but not for this quality of work, the place is a construction garage and barren and they talk about you fyi.. I went yesterday for a 60 min massage and a pedicure and could not have been happier with my experience. Both services were perfection. I actually hesitated to try a pedicure because I have gone to my normal nail place religiously for years and have been happy but Ratha blew my nail salon out of the water. The attention to detail, the care and consideration of my comfort, and the absolute gorgeous job she did was more than I could have ever hoped. Not to mention, this is the softest my feet have ever felt in years. Like butter! She was also lovely to work with. My massage with Courtney was also incredible. Again, massages are nothing new to me, so I sort of go into each massage knowing what to expect but Courtney melted me. I never fall asleep during a massage (maybe once in my entire life) and I was out like a light at some point. She was so careful of the space on my shoulder I told her about the recent surgery on, but didn't ignore it and deprive me of any of the shoulder massage piece. She accommodated my still-drying toe nails from pedicure prior (I didn't have any choice about timing; I added the pedicure on at the last minute and they were happy to work around my request). All in all, I was happy with scheduling, the services, and felt that pricing was more than fair for the quality of the services received. I always see Rachel, who is friendly and great at what she does. I typically get a trim and permanent color - never anything drastic, like changing hair colors, but I did get bangs for the first time in many years at my last visit. Rachel listened to what I wanted and gave me realistic advice about what looks would work on me. She followed my directions in general but the bangs came out not quite to my liking. 6 weeks later, having grown out some, they look better. The pros for this salon: the prices are reasonable ($75 for a cut and color), they sell what their stylists use on site including brushes and blow dryers, they have male and female stylists which is good if you have a preference, and they take walk-ins. On the downside, they don't take credit cards (cash and checks only - archaic!), they close pretty early on Saturdays and the Saturday appointments fill up quickly - be sure to call at least a couple of days ahead, and the place isn't much to look at on the inside - cramped, no TVs, and could use some renovating. I have been moderately happy with the cuts and colors over the years. Sometimes I feel they have been too conservative when I clearly communicated wanting more dramatic color, for example - or the cut ended up being just a bit shorter than what I asked for. To her credit, Rachel will fine-tune the cut for several more minutes if you are picky like me and her blowouts are great.

If you're looking for a new salon to test out in the area, I'd recommend giving them a call.
