We called back and the same tech said it would be between 3 and 5 am before they could get there that his "TEAM" was on another basement job. OK!! So... at 3:30 am we called back AGAIN!! The same tech told us that we could go ahead and go to bed, that they would be there at 9 or 930 in the morning! They did not show up at that time, it was over an hour later, no calls NOTHING!! They are lazy, they don't communicate AT ALL, they try to tell you that you can save something that is completely saturated with water like a MATTRESS or a COUCH! Our adjuster had to tell them to throw the stuff away!! They NEVER are on time!! They NEVER call, they always have excuses for EVERYTHING! They leave a mess for you to clean up! When they had to move things out of the basement, they acted like it was an inconvenience to them! I will NEVER, EVER use this company or recommend them EVER!! BTW, when they did show up, I'm expecting a TEAM as the tech had said, NO!! It was only 2 techs! Not dressed to deal with a flood AT ALL!!

They charged me $85.00 and told me they would find my problem before leaving the residence if it took them all day. Their representative told me it was mold and could take an air sample for additional service trip and fee. I knew there was no mold in our basement causing this smell. I paid them and received no receipt for their services upon their leaving. I telephoned the company to complain. They sent out one of their managers, who explained to me after examining the basement, that their representative had been wrong, and that I in fact had no mold at all! I hired a plumbing company who came and quickly determined I had a cracked/broken pipe which was allowing septic/sewer gas to come into the home. I called Servpro to request my money back as I had gotten no service from them and they completely mis-diagnosed the issue and even admitted they had done so. The owner was extremely rude on the phone to me, yelling and carrying on, but told me he would return my check back in the mail. I was satisfied by this and planned to go on without complaint about the company to anyone. But a few moments later he called me back and got into a screaming match with me upon which I hung up on him. At this time I determined to contact someone within the community to alert others to what occurred with me. This company is EXTREMELY unprofessional and I would recommend them to NO ONE.

They assessed the damage and immediately began working to get the space dry. They were extremely communicative with me, setting my mind at ease while they worked to figure out what needed to be replaced. They ended up removing my highly-saturated carpet, then adding industrial fans to remove all moisture from the area. They left them overnight, then came back first thing in the morning to check again. Thanks to Eddie and Michael's great work, the basement was surprisingly dry by then! What a fantastic experience, especially considering my initial fear of "everything is ruined!" In addition to their great work, Eddie and Michael were tremendous at explaining what they needed to do, which helped calm my fears. They kept me smiling and laughing throughout the process, which was an unexpected - but greatly appreciated - boost to my morale while dealing with such a stressful issue. I would recommend ServPro for any issues, particularly if you can request Eddie and Michael! They were OUTSTANDING!

where to start, we had a flood in our home, our son used to work for Lafayette, Indiana Serv pro…read moreso, we hired them. biggest mistake I've ever made hiring anyone. I already had the carpet up when they got here. we a have a concrete foundation. so, it was still full of water. The people they sent at first, didn't know anything when asked questions. I had to wait for a few days until Tony, the head guy showed up and he di answer those questions. the equipment they used was super loud, couldnt carry conversation on with my wife for a few days. they took some of the base board off. when the people we hired, went to put the base board back on, we are still missing 2 pieces that we could find. they ripped out a vanity in guest bathroom. insurance didn't want to pay for it so, we faught that . insurance finally paid for vanity but won't pay for the plumbing to put it all back together so, that comes out of wife and I pocket. they broke a small figur my wife had on wall.( they are replacing.) still waiting on our bedding they took to get it cleaned. ( been over couple months now.) when trying to get a flat out answer about how much they would charge to do the painting, flooring, and vanity, couldn't get a straight answer. matter of fact, when meeting with Tony about it a few times, not only couldn't get a straight answer but, when I asked about how much we had for budget for flooring, all he kept saying was," part of the cost from insurance is our cost as well." when asked about the padding for the flooring, " you can just keep that." dude, that's insurance fraud! needless to say, we was done at that oh t and went somewhere else. I would never use serv pro again! never! I also won't recommend them to anyone either.

If you happen to find yourself losing your entire freshly finished basement to water, I Highly do…read morenot recommend using Michaelis Corporation for water mitigation. From the very beginning, we were put under pressure. The manager who came to give an estimate told us it was basically "now or never" and that if we didn't make a decision right then, he would leave because he had plenty of other other jobs lined up. When you're dealing with water in your home, that kind of pressure forces you into a rushed decision without really understanding what you're agreeing to. The work that followed did not match what we were told or what we were billed for. The biggest issue is they did not even touch the utility room, which is where the water originated from. According to their own photos, there was no extraction, or drying equipment ever in that room which is something we didn't notice until after we found water pooling under furniture weeks later during putting our basement back together. That alone makes no sense for a mitigation job. They told us they would come back the next day to check moisture levels and water percentages. They never came. Then they told us the same thing again the following days. After multiple excuses, instead of ever coming back, they told us to just shut the equipment off ourselves. They still charged us for 4 days. Not only did we find pooled water still sitting under furniture and items on the floor, mold starting, and damage to drywall and studs. Water had also gone underneath cabinetry and the island, and none of that had been removed or handled. So weird.... that's exactly why I called a mitigation company to catch and prevent. They also left a huge mess in our yard for four days that killed our grass, after telling us they would be back the next morning to clean it up. And this was not just debris from our home. It was trash from brand new equipment they brought in and unboxed at our house. We were charged for retrieving equipment from another job site to come to ours, which clearly did not happen as we watched them bring in new equipment and open it in our yard, then leave the packaging behind. EVERY TIME we called the manager he was rude and would say "I'm working 16 hour days you're gonna have to wait." When we were only holding him to what he said he would do. We were also charged for other services we did not receive, including water extraction (we never had water extracted only drying... "after hours" work that took place around 3:30 in the afternoon, extended run time fees when it was there fault they didn't come back to get their equipment, clean up and debris removal (that they left in our yard, charges for the square footage they never touched, and charged us for full scope mitigation even though they didn't touch an entire room or take out the wood tack strip under the carpet. We were charged for 8 things that did not happen. A year later, we are STILL dealing with the aftermath. What should have been handled correctly the first time has turned into more work, more stress, and even more money out of our pocket! We trusted them during a stressful situation and that was a mistake. I wouldn't consider allowing them to do work in your home, but if you do ask questions, document everything, and do not assume the invoice reflects what actually happened. These people don't care about you, your home or your safety.

About a year ago we had a basement sump backup for which we called ServiceMaster Advantage of…read moreLafayette. The minor disaster required the carpet of the built-in basement be replaced. Separate crews were assigned to take out the damaged materials. ServiceMaster sent Eddie Diaz to scope the work and explain what would be done. The crew he sent about a week later, to pull out the damaged carpet, asked for entry and spent a good amount of time on the work. But it seems to be much more than assigned work that occupied their time. When they were done they departed quickly and without checking in to show me what they had done. Within a few weeks of their work, I noticed assorted items of thousands of dollars of value--ammunition, vinyl record albums from the 1960s-70s, military uniform items and insignia, CDs, electronics, and other personal property--missing from my office and the nearby closet, neither of which had any damage. I had happened to inventory many items a few weeks before their work and knew well what I had from inventory and electronic receipts, that the items were definitely gone, and that no other people had any access to the areas whence the items disappeared. I compiled a list of what I realized was missing and filed a statement with the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's office a few weeks later, after checking carefully what was missing. The detective investigated the slickie boys whose names they got from ServiceMaster, but the identified boys claimed they were never at my house, and I had no solid proof they were. In the intervening months a few other items are also missing, having not been noticed among the many items in the office area until recently needed. With highly restricted access to the area, those had to disappear the same time as the other property--no other explanation makes sense. Some lessons: Even if very busy on other activities, observe the laborers closely, frequently, randomly, and fully trust none requiring entry to your premises--especially not any low-skill, part-timers who might be unable to gain more reliable employment. So they cannot lie that they never worked at your location, photograph their government issued facial ID and their vehicle--including the license plate--before allowing them entry. Unless it is untrustworthy, any competent business will be certain to have the supervisor come by that day, when the work is done, to ensure it has been performed suitably and honestly. Other contractors do so. For the money paid, the customer has every right to expect the supervisor sending the laborers to be professional and "close the loop." We have installed a security system in the meantime. The multiple cameras would have captured the boys carrying out their stolen property. I will not call upon this business again.
