My experience was so-so at best…read more They sprang an additional $1,000 bill on me after saying that the amount I paid was the FINAL amount and didn't check with me before cashing my check (the "FINAL" bill was more than I had expected, and required juggling several bank accounts to make the check good). Because of this my new landlord charged me fees of $170 (tho, to be fair, I thought it would only be $70 and TM did credit that against the unexpected bill). As for moving, other than not packing my spice drawers or wall desk, not bringing the firewood or firewood holder (also expensive), and charging me for boxes (after swearing to use the ones I had already bought) they were very average - broken glass in pictures, a couple of badly packed and smashed items, but nothing out of the ordinary for movers. All told, I'm out $9k for moving, $400 for missing items, and no Goodwill receipt for donated items (which I was counting on for my 2026 taxes). E-mail has gone unanswered now that I no longer owe them money.

The hotel has a very Victorian vibe with a hint of haunted house and I absolutely love it. Our room was beautiful! It was a little bit hot to sit in the common area room as it was about the upper 80s in Wheeler that weekend, which made the room pretty hot, but it was no big deal. Our room had AC. So many pictures to look at on the walls, a cute little gift shop when you check in, and the bed was so comfortable. Honestly, that's usually my biggest gripe at places is a super uncomfortable bed, this one was absolutely perfect! And the huge antique mall right next-door, we spent hours in there and found so many treasures ! Absolutely will be coming back!
