I went in to purchase items that were previously marked as 25 cents, now marked as a penny--a viral trend known as "Dollar Tree penny items." I had a cartful of these items, and Alan refused to sell any of them to me, even though corporate has sent all stores nationwide an email stating, "If a customer attempts to purchase an item that rings up at the register for a penny, allow that customer to purchase this item." Instead, Alan told me, "I'm not selling these items to you, you're not getting them for a penny." When I asked why hundreds of these items were still on the sales floor, he dismissed me and even accused me of lying about the penny policy. He ridiculed me in front of other customers, which was humiliating and completely uncalled for. I have shopped at this store for years, but Alan's behavior was unacceptable. When I asked for the district or regional manager's contact information, he claimed not to know, and even refused to tell me who hired him. He continued to deny me the sale and acted in a very unprofessional manner. Corporate needs to address this issue and reach out to me regarding Alan's conduct and the store's refusal to honor company policy. This was a very disappointing experience.
