Now that we've gotten that out of the way... This has been my farmers market ever since I moved to Atlanta 10 years ago. What keeps me coming back isn't just what they have--it's who they have. The staff here has always made me feel like family. Whether it's the sweet gentleman who cuts the fresh pineapple, the gentleman preparing fresh coconut water, or the ladies at the checkout counters, everyone is consistently warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Those interactions may seem small, but they're a big part of why I continue to return year after year. Of course, the selection is incredible as well. This is where I buy most of my fresh fruit, a lot of my meat, and--let's be honest--my desserts too. Speaking of dessert, there is one item I absolutely have to mention: the fruit tart. I've tried fruit tarts from all over, and I can honestly say this market has my favorite one. Every single year, it's become my birthday tradition to pick one up, and I look forward to it just as much as the celebration itself. It really is that good. One thing I've always appreciated is the consistency. No matter which part of Georgia I've lived in over the past decade, I've continued making the drive because I know exactly what kind of experience I'm going to have every time I walk through the doors. A couple of helpful tips if you're visiting for the first time: * While the parking lot can look busy, I've almost always been able to find a space. You may have to park a little farther away, but a few extra steps are well worth it. * Also, be sure to come prepared--this market accepts debit cards or cash only, so credit cards aren't accepted. There are plenty of farmers markets around Atlanta, but this one has always felt like home to me. Between the incredible selection, consistently fresh products, and the kindness of the people who work here, it's a place I'll continue returning to for years to come.

I was excited to see they had Georgia Wild shrimp in 1lb, 2lbs, ad 5lbs bags. I got a 2lb bag. When I got home, the bag looked light, so I weighed it on my food scale and postal scale, and both showed 1.15 lbs. Thinking that I was given a 1lb bag by mistake, I went back to the store to let them know. The lady told me that my scale was faulty and needed to be recalibrated. I informed her I weighed it on TWO different scales. Then showed her a photo of the shrimp on my scale at 1.15lbs . She then put them back on her scale at the register and showed me 1.96 lbs (which still isn't 2). The gentleman said to give me a few more to get it to 2 lbs. She looked me in the eye and said, "Honey, a lb of shrimp is 21 shrimp. I guarantee it's 40, and you have 2 lbs. Recalibrate your scales." Some guy in the background yelled out, "Use tare." They never tried to test or "recalibrate" their scale. Unfortunately life has taught me that arguing with scammers is moot and I already wasted too much time with these people so I just left feeling salty and cheated. However, on the way home I figured I must have been overcharged on the other produce since that's the scale they used for everything. When I got home, I weighed all the produce and saw that NOTHING was equal to weight it said on my receipt. As for my scales and weighing know-how, I run an online business and use the postage scale daily. My numbers always match the numbers at UPS and USPS so I know my scales are right. I also recalibrated them and got the same thing. However I am a science based professional so to test I weighed a 1lb bag lentils from my pantry and jar honey I bought from them both items were correct. I've attached photos of all of this. This experience was so disappointing and I will never return.

I have never had a problem with anything purchased here, and frankly, I would rather pay a local farmer for produce and eggs whenever I can. Large chain markets have their place, but small community stores like this build community spirit and help our local farmers.

I went this past week because I was looking for 2 specific items that I wasn't able to find at 2 other large Asian markets. Someone had suggested this Market because of the extensive ethnic choices. It has Asian (Korean, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Filipino), European, South American, Hispanic and American items. There are sections that have premade Asian meals, fresh seafood, extensive fruits and vegetables, frozen foods, pantry staples, bakery items, almost anything you might want. It's a large market and you could spend hours going up and down the aisles exploring. I was surprised to find they even had a favorite pop that I only thought I could get in Michigan. Now I know that I can go here and get it, without having to have it ordered online. It can get busy on the weekends when everyone is doing their weekly shopping, but I went later in the day and was able to find parking and not bump into people or long lines.

It has slowly gone downhill since then. I have bought their quart container of squeezed pink grapefruit juice many times, it used to be very reasonable. For the past couple of months the price has risen to $13.99 a quart !!! Whole Foods has the same thing for $8.99. Other sources are no where near $13.99. That's price gouging. All the daily house hold products are also much higher than Target, Walmart, Kroger, Publix. I cannot believe people pay the prices. Unless they are on special, berry's and fruit's are more expensive than Publix or Kroger and they look like they are second or third tier quality. The same for the vegetables, some literally still have dirt on them and are definitely poor quality. I bought sushi the other day at the counter in the back, for the price it was great. I decided to buy extra Wasabi, there were three kinds on the counter. None had a price, not on the container, not on the shelf. I asked the person behind the counter what were the prices, they said they didn't know, I would have to carry the wasabi literally diagonally across the store and get a price. The person couldn't call and ask ?!?! How does an employee not notice these items are not priced !?!? I have always loved the cafeteria, their entrees are delicious. Now some of the trays have nothing in them and some have been sitting in the trays and have a skim on the top because they haven't even stirred them up obviously for hours. 40% off after 4;30pm, great deal, but half or more of the food is gone, by 5pm they have pretty much closed up. The Mex part is closed at 4:30pm. So sad, a great resource, just about ruined. They also used to have cooking classes, which were great. They haven't had a class in years. Today I go in and by 4 items, the lines are long, so I took it to the quick checkout near the entrance. A person in front of me had over 10 items, each bag was like 5 pounds of vegetables each. He was not an employee, be paid cash. I asked the cashier so the line is no longer 10 items or less? She shrugged her shoulders !!! There used to be 10 items or less registers, at least two. Both of those have been long gone. It looks like BHFM is adding self checkout, the registers are installed and have sat there 2 years !?!? Still not open. With skyrocketing grocery prices and the competition in the area BHFM management needs to wake up. The outside isn't looking its best either. I hate to write this, but come on BHFM !!! Yes, there are some good deals, especially specials, but they are no where near the quality / price of Whole Foods or Dekalb Farmers Market. The same for H MART, I want competitive pricing and quality products, as a local, the "novelty" effect means nothing to me.

The sheer variety is a dream for any home cook or food enthusiast looking to elevated their kitchen game in 2026. The highlight of the trip had to be the live seafood section. Jensen Reserve is a farm-based butcher shop and artisan food producer in Walton County, Georgia that came highly recommended by friends. It's not a large place, but offers high-quality, pasture-raised, locally sourced meats such as beef, chicken, and its own pork products from the rare Meishan pig breed. They provide Artisan food products like prosciutto, capicola and dips and spreads you can feel good about consuming. The Owner/Farmer, Laura Jensen, wants you to eat like a farmer everyday! We had the chance to meet her and she explained why she began farming after battling several health issues. It is important to her to offer meats free of chemicals and pollutants. The entire staff was lovely and we had a BLAST talking with many of the customers, some of which convinced us to purchase far more than we intended! Still, we remained conservative because we weren't sure if the hype was truly worthy. But let me offer some assurance from a former Yelp Elite member for more than 13 years... they are indeed worth the hype! [ WHAT WE PURCHASED ] We took home two steak burger patties, 5lbs of frozen chicken breasts, a Teres Major steak, a jar of peach habanero pepper jelly, a block of Havarti cheese, a loaf of cheddar jalapeno sourdough bread, and one container each of their regular chicken salad and the buffalo chicken dip. It was so surprisingly good that we ate the chicken salad and buffalo dip within 48 hours of our first bite! The steak burgers were absolutely amazing and my wife has been really enjoying the sourdough bread. We also had a great date night in our living room with a movie, club crackers, the Havarti cheese and peach habanero pepper jelly. We have yet to cook the chicken or teres major steak, but if what we've already devoured is any indicator, we will be very happy with our meal. They offer freezer packages, half hog & whole hog packages, and everything from a 1/4 of a cow to a whole cow package as well as bulk buys and weekly specials. Their "stock your frig freezer bundle" for $285 fits in most refrigerator freezers with no need for a deep freezer (according to their sign). Now that's smart advertising! [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] Not gonna kid anyone, some of the steak prices are uncomfortable, but after comparing some of the organic local grocery chain prices for chicken and ground beef, Jensen meats and other products are actually great buys!

You can really taste the difference in the freshness and flavor of the meat, which is something you just don't get from larger, commercial sources. The selection at Jensen Farms is fantastic. The store itself is small but with lots to offer. They also run out of products so keep that in mind!
