My dog has been gone from us for a year now but the pain is still there. I should have know when I first walked in because the place was disgusting. I get the fact that pets are being taken care of there but the smell was horrible. I made the mistake of leaving our family member with him(Reggie) because I had know other choices never again. My dog's behavior changed while in his custody he was responsible for my dog self being.. I should have been called the moment he noticed his behavior changed we should have been call(Hey your dog is not doing well you may want to get him to a Vet). Not him when I got there is when he noticed his behavior because he was not taking care of checking on him like a professional care taker does.. He came out and told me "something is wrong with Achilles". My dog could not move, could not walk I had to carry him to the truck and he passed a day later. If a person leaves their pet with you there are expectations we expect you to meet like feeding, well being they are your responsibility at the time you take that leash. So for me I wouldn't leave a dead rat in his care, he needs to be shut down!!! If you really love your pet leaving it with him put their life in jeopardy!!!

They take appointments, which is nice for us since our dogs get overly excited at the sight of other animals in the waiting room. The vet, Dr. Becky, was very caring and sweet to our dog. She not only looked at his problem foot, but also examined him entirely. She quickly diagnosed the problem. The office fee is $40, but trust me, the visit felt worth the price. When you get a thorough vet like her, you will rarely be coming back in a few days later because she missed something. The assistant called the next day to see how things were going, which is always nice so you can ask follow-up questions. We plan to board both of our dogs here over labor day weekend, so I'll update the review then to give information about that experience. If you're worried about the drive out here from Champaign, don't be. There is no traffic or stoplights, and the speed limit is about 50, 55 mph. You'll get there in no time.

The dog's sleeping areas are great. The owner has high standards including making sure all dogs are vaccinated. The only problem I have had is getting my dogs in for grooming. Kayla was so kind and helpful over the phone, it reassured me. Thankfully, over Sunday night Peach ate and used box. Even though I didn't need to take him in to the clinic, they were so kind and compassionate, I know where I will take my cats if I have an emergency.

His speaker listener obligation, really fell through the phone - yelling, yet not listening to me the owner of the patient. He admitted having no license in anything. HAve spent thousands there, and brought 4 or 5 pets there. Have never run in to such an unprofessional needy employee like this anywhere. One of my pets was mis-diagnosed there a couple of years ago - no apology or refund. I do have a professional license in a healthcare field - No one is perfect - but the failure to accept my pet for treatment and deal with the youngster's failure to handle the call like an adult - instead of a nasty cry baby - was so bad, it was almost hilarious, it was handled so poorly. Have spent thousands there and whoever this "Beau" guy is, has to go. It's completely unprofessional to act like a brat. This isn't how a professional healthcare provider should behave. They are losing patients due to an attitude issue. Not to mention that they had no pain relief RX for both of my cats that had dental procedures done on the same day once.. There are techs and 2 particular docs there that we love - but we aren't going to be treated like we were treated not too long ago. Just being open and honest. Beau would not sllow me to talk to a vet - which would have been the first appropriate thing to do.

I asked if the deposit was refundable. The person I was speaking with said that appointment could be cancelled and deposit refunded 24 hours prior to appointment. Since the appointment was 2 pm Monday, I asked if they were open on Saturday. The person I was speaking with said they are. That meant I could cancel 48 hours in advance by calling as late as 2 pm Saturday. A couple hours later, I learned that Good Friends is also corporate owned. I called at 2:14 pm Friday 10/11/24 to cancel, just a couple hours after I made the appointment. Another person answered the phone, and she refused to refund the deposit. After calling my bank to dispute the charge, I called back to give them another chance. Lydia answered and initially refused to give her name. Eventually she gave me her name and revealed that Good Friends is part of Heartland Veterinary Partners. I called Heartland Veterinary Partners and was unable to secure a refund. So now I have to file BBB complaint, AG complaint, and potentially a small claims action. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS.
