I used Petsitting by Diana to watch my four cats while I was on vacation in Europe for two weeks. Jewell came out to get information prior to my leaving and wrote down specific instructions about the services she would provide. Like any pet owner, I worry about them getting the attention and proper care they need when I am not available. I was thoroughly pleased when I returned. Jewell left a short note each day of what she did and how the cats were each day when she arrived. My cats were happy and content, as if I had never been gone at all. It sure gave me a total peace of mind knowing they were well taken care of while I was gone. I can't thank Jewell enough for all she did during those two weeks and I will not hesitate to ask Diana and Jewell again when I need to leave for a prolonged time period. read more

I use Petsitting by Diana for my dog, 2 cats, and guinea pig. Whoever comes comes on time- walks the dog, the cats really like whoever comes, and the guinea pig always squeaks. This is very good care and I will continue to use it. Edit: there was an incident one time, where the person locked the key inside with her and the dog outside. They were very courteous- they took the dog in for the night, bought some food, and made sure they were back in time to give the dog her medicine. One of the cats also needs medicine, and it typically takes two people to do it. It's impressive that one sitter can do it by herself. read more

We have had wonderful experiences with the sitters obtained through Petsitting By Diana. One of them, in particular, has been through thick and thin with us-when we had a very sick dog, and did not want to be away from the house, but had to. She has taken one of our dogs to our vet for a emergency procedure that was needed while we were gone, and put up with all the cleanup and other grief that goes along with older dogs. Having just read the negative review, find that to be troubling. That has not been our experience at all, and hopefully, that has been addressed by Diana, so that others would not have similar concerns. Because of our dogs' advanced ages, we do not think a kennel is in their best interest, and are very pleased to have the resources that Diana provides. read more

Petsitting by Diana has been doing daily walks for my two dogs for the past 3 years. Prior to this, I had been using a doggie daycare service, but I was afraid for my dogs' safety, and I just wanted someone who would take them out during the day. From the first time I met Diana, I knew my dogs would be in good hands with her. I could tell she was an animal lover. My dogs absolutely love Diana and their regular dog walker, Melissa. I communicate with Diana and Melissa regularly, so I was very surprised by Lindsay K's claim that no one would get back to her. A few weeks ago, Diana and Melissa were trying to contact me on my cell phone because the keypad for my garage door opener wouldn't work. I hadn't looked at my phone in a while, so I hadn't noticed their messages. I was at work that day and got a call from security. Diana had stopped by to try to resolve the issue. She waited while I went to my car to get my extra garage door opener. She then went to my house and walked my dogs. Now, that's service! I highly recommend Petsitting by Diana, and I know if my two divas could type, they would recommend this service, as well. read more

Our doggies Loved having Diana pet sit for them! She spent an abundant time playing with them and making sure they were happy. We have security cameras and did review her service after she left and found she came when asked and spent the appropriate amount of time with the pups. She wrote us long, complete notes about what happened while she was here. We had one issue - came home to poop in the house once. At the time, we felt play time had been too long and pups hadn't taken the time to eliminate. (Who wants to poop when you can play ball instead??) We spoke to Diana & the issue was resolved. We'd still use her, but sadly our boy passed last Spring. Diana is the best! read more

We have used Petsitting by Diana for 18 years for our dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and reptiles. We have always received excellent service and have not experienced any issues. We were a little worried that our temperamental dog, "Z", would be a problem with a stranger coming to the house. The sitter came by a couple of times before we left for vacation to get acquainted with "Z" and the rest of the animals. "Z" loved his sitter. I have been using Diana Services for several years now. I have had nothing but the best to come take care of my Kitties. They come however many times you tell them to come in a day. The sitters provide you with a summary on what went on with each visit. I would recommend this service to anyone looking for someone to look after there fur babies. read more

We have 2 dogs and 2 cats and were hoping for a reliable, professional company to take care of our pets. I really, really wanted this service to work. We tried using Petsitting By Diana three times, each with very disappointing results. The business is very disorganized, and it is difficult to get ahold of anyone - you can only leave a message or email and wait until they decide to get back to you, if ever. Here is a summary of each situation: 1. My husband and I were out of town for several hours and needed someone to let the dogs out and feed them. Jill was assigned. She showed up on time, but allowed her teenage son to wander around the house unsupervised. We have security cameras in our house. I didn't make a big deal of this, but when I asked about their policy of allowing anyone other than the authorized employees, Jill initially denied this and said that her son sat out in the car. Diana stated that no one other than the petsitter was allowed, and Jill was replaced by another petsitter for future needs. 2. We went out of state for the first week of July. Patricia was initially assigned, but backed out over some family issues. We were then assigned to Maria. We were fairly happy with Maria at first...she had more of a "lock them outside and relax" approach, but she fed and walked them as scheduled. Then came 4th of July. She went to see fireworks and celebrate, which was fine, but didn't mention that she also had to work during the day. The dogs were by themselves for 16 out of 24 hours, in the dark and panicking with fireworks going off outside. We were very concerned that she was still gone at 11pm, so I had texted her to see when she was going to be back. Her replies were borderline incoherent. When Maria returned to the house, she was absolutely belligerent, on the phone with Diana in a carefully staged "Cover Your Ass" situation, and spent the next hour in a complete rage, insulting and launched a vicious, expletive-laced verbal attack about us, our animals, our house, and anything else she could think of regarding the job. She was lying about a number of issues to Diana, which we didn't address because it would come down to our word vs hers, and we were getting tired of this company. We were sick to our stomachs watching her in such a rage, because we were truly helpless watching and listening to this, hoping that she didn't take it out on our animals. I'm not sure if Maria was intoxicated or not, but her explosion of anger was completely unfounded (it was based on 2 neutral text messages from me asking when she would be back to the house)...we were scared to contact her or Diana for fear of further retaliation. I was at the point where I was about to have police remove her from my house and fly back early. I informed Diana that Maria was absolutely not welcome back. 3. We decided to try Petsitting by Diana one last time, which was a mistake. We needed someone to stay with the animals from Thursday night 9/4 through Sunday 9/7. Their communication guidelines instruct the client to contact the petsitter directly, so I texted Patricia on 8/25 to see if she was available and she replied "Yes, will be in touch". After several reschedules to come pick up the key and go over the basic care info, she never shows and cancels 3 days before we leave, saying that Diana was informed. Of course, Diana never contacted us and we were left scrambling to find a kennel at last minute. This is a very unprofessional, unreliable service and I will not use them nor recommend them in the future. read more

We have used Petsitting By Diana since moving to the area 2 1/2 years ago for our golden retriever. Except for a few times where it has been hard to get ahold of them we have been very pleased with their services. Our dog is older and keeping his routine at home is important to us when we are away. We have used two of their sitters and both are great with our dog....so I would recommend Petsitting by Diana for your pet! read more

We have been clients of Petsitting By Diana for over 8 years; having them at least once a week often more. They have stayed in our home taking care of our dogs for often a week or more. Reliability has never been an issue, nor has anything else for that matter. we have called from hospital emergency rooms, from hours away when detained or stuck in airports. Diana and crew has always been easy to work with and taken great care of or dogs. We feel they loved the kids as much as we do and have mourned with us when we lost a dog several years ago. Our dogs have loved all their sitters and the sitters have treated us and our dogs with the greatest respect. I will continue to use this service as long as I have pets which I am sure will be a very long time. read more

Hi yelp readers. This is Maria, from the Lindsay K. complaint. I am sorry miss K had a negative experience with both myself and Petsitting by Diana. I am more disappointed she chose to SLANDER me by stating I could have been intoxicated and fabricate stories and Strategically leave out CRITICAL DETAILS. Please allow me to provide you with those details so you can be properly, informed. On Monday June 29th 2014 I had my initial meeting with miss K. During this meeting contracts are signed, walk thru of the house are done, price is discussed, clients are even told about us keeping daily doggy journals for the clients to keep after we finish a job ( I have 8 pages of doggie journal for this job outlining SPECIFIC things I did with these dogs including being outback with the dogs playing with Boris and the garden hose and watching Wilson because he is not supposed to dig in the yard) and ANY questions are asked and answered. At this time miss K asked me if I was going to the fireworks. I told her yes, so she WAS aware I was going and she was fine with this. At this time ALL of my clients (Including miss K) are TOLD of my daytime job. If an animal has special needs I would have to give the job to another sitter, due to the fact I would be working and not in the home during the day. During this initial visit, I noticed 5 surveillance cameras 4 inside the home and 1 outside in the front of the home. This was of no concern to me I just assume all homes have nanny cams. This was a fun job and I loved the babies. All was well until July 4th when neighbors notified miss K that the dogs were "excessively" barking. Unbenounced to the neighbors, I was still in the home at this time with my car in the garage. This was approx. 7pm. The babies did randomly bark when people in the neighborhood sent off fireworks, but it was NOT excessive. I didn't leave they house until a little while later. Miss K. began a TEXTING FRENZY. I let her know that I would be home directly after the fireworks. she seemed to be ok with this. When I got back to the home it was approx 10:45 pm. When I walked in the door, Both dogs were sleeping. She led you to believe they were in a panic state. This is simply not true. They showed NO SIGNS of stress. No panting, no pacing around the house, no potty accidents, and didn't even come to the door when I got home, ( again because they were sleeping). I did call and notify Diana of what was going on. Anytime something out of the ordinary happens, as the owner of the business,I make her aware of a cituation. I must also mention, I later found out, this house has AUDIO recording inside the home. This is ILLEGAL in the state of Illinois. Illinois is a TWO PARTY CONSENT state meaning BOTH parties have to have consent to tape record any/and all conversations. I was taped both without my knowledge and consent. I still don't mine that I was recorded because miss K made it sound like I was verbally attacking her and her family which I did not. I was angry because the neighbors lied and got the client in an uproar for no reason and then she miss K took it out on me and petsitting by Diana. She also stated they were scared for their home and their babies thinking I would somehow retaliate. I at NO TIME have ever in the 9 years I worked for Diana showed any aggression towards ant animals! If miss K was that terrified then she should have had me removed from the house. The 8 pages of dog journals show the EXTRA care I took of their dogs and their home by playing in the back yard with them to Wilson actually sleeping in my bed with me. The day after all this happened I even completed the job by vacuuming they entire 3 floors of the house and even scrubbing the kitchen and dining room floor on my hands and knees from where Boris tracked mud in the house from getting muddy from us playing with the hose in the back yard. This is all on their surv. cameras. She just failed to mention all the accurate information. At the end, I am going to try to POST both notes and the comment card left by miss K AFTER all of this nonsense she claimed happened. The notes and comment card will speak for themselves! Diana did reach out to miss K to try and resolve this matter. Diana agreed to not charge her for the 4th of July. Miss K seemed happy with this but when the check came in she actually didn't pay for the last 2 days of service. I hope now you can make an PROPERLY INFORMED decision.
