Gordon Wallpaper was one of my many quotes and I spoke with Alex and made all the arrangements. Alex also told me how much wallpaper I needed. 20rolls. I had a lot left over- a lot! In terms of scheduling and doing the job, Alex referred me to Francisco. I worked with Francisco at New Image and his team. When Francisco and his team showed up, they all had T-shirts that said New Image Wall Covering. My impression is it's all part of the same company, but I'm not sure. Anyway..... I was first given a quote by Alex at Gordon Wallpaper over the phone based on photos. The job was small, but it was complex, but I wasn't happy with a quote and I later told him after receiving other quotes that I couldn't take his quote seriously because he had actually not seen the site. When he did show up at the site, he realized how much more complex it was and unfortunately did not lower the quote because of how small it was, but he actually increased the quote. Which I was not very happy about; he later decreased the quote a little bit but still more than the original quote. My dealings with Francisco were 100% positive. He was truly amazing. This guy knows wallpaper. He asked all kinds of questions and pointed things out that I would never have thought about hanging wallpaper on a ceiling. This job covered the ceiling in my loft as well as over my kitchen, and that area was more than two stories high. It involved scaffolding and an entire day (11 hours) with a crew of three. At all times they were 100% professional. They also worked with my schedule. Francisco and I went back-and-forth on changing the date, but I'm extremely flexible so it didn't bother me, however it might've bothered another person. All that mattered to me was the end result and that result was amazing!!! Also, they didn't break anything. Which might not sound like a small thing, but if you saw my house, you would realize this was an accomplishment. So, in summary, very professional but didn't like the price, the process of getting the price (begging for a site visit), or the fact that I over ordered ALOT of wallpaper and now have to store it. Wallpaper was expensive but at least I had a coupon. If rating on final job, would have been 5 stars. Highly recommend but question the amount of wallpaper. Would use again!!!

Guess who just got new blinds and shades installed, YAY! I also got a cat that (by accident) broke some of the blinds panels... and in other instances, the blinds just stopped opening because the mechanisms broke. So I've been thinking about getting new blinds for quite a while, and I knew I wanted it to be something sturdier than the classic thin beige ones. I did some research, and realized the kind of blinds I wanted, but also learned that they could only be purchased through certain distributors. It seemed like a perfect opportunity to support a small local business, so that's how I stumbled upon Wills Decorating. I arrived one early afternoon and the place really did feel like a mini Lowes or something, hahaha. The man behind the counter was wrapping things up with another customer. I took the time to explore and I immediately found the blinds I had in mind. But I also saw these cool looking shades that could be opened from the bottom... AND top. And they had this cool honeycomb shape, I was intrigued! When the man was done, I found it his name was Michael, and he is one of the owners, and he's local local! He grew up near the same community I currently live. So we talked about blinds and shades, and we arranged for the co-owner, Valerie, to call me so we could schedule time for her to come over. Within a week she came, and I made some decisions that I am so delighted with now that the project is done. We discussed colors, I told her what my plans were for painting -- she was VERY efficient and professional. And she was also very friendly, willing to chat about my vision and give recommendations. Days later, she followed up with a quote and we made it happen. I had to pay half once I decided to move forward, and then the other half after installation. Another person, Dave, came and did the installation at every window. He came in the middle of a workday, and I told him when I had meetings -- he started with my office window, and I was worried about having to move my desk. He was able to easily work around it! He worked very quickly! I was thoroughly pleased with what he had done -- and it wasn't before long I had a follow-up conversation with Valerie and she was asking how everything looked. Dave had sent her some pics and she was as excited as me. All that to say, I am overjoyed and I'm looking forward to my next house upgrade (when I cool down, financially, haha).
