I went by there about 2 hours ago. This barbershop is completely gone. The shop is empty except for a bench and one glass case.

I am very pleased with the service I got from this place. I am a military vet and I have to say that this place is the very first place I have found that offers a true military regulation flat top since the late '90s. That ridiculous comment by Hafeeza S. is hilarious!!!! Barbers learn to cut hair by who comes into the barber school to get the service. A school in a mostly white area will have mostly white patrons. If a school is in an area with many black people then the barber students will have black patrons to practice on. Simple as that!! Sounds like these barbers were only trying to avoid putting out a bad haircut due to lack of knowledge about cutting ethnic hair. She would have been "raising Cain" over getting a bad haircut just as much as being told they are not trained to do it, so she was going to be unhappy either way! While the name would suggest this is an an ole fashioned barber shop, it is, only in decor. The staff are friendly, and the place has a great vintage vibe, but the minute you set down in the chair the clippers come out, regardless of how you want it cut. I thought this place would be old school comb and scissors all the way. Not the case, and at $22.00, it's a tad pricey for a 10 minute clipper cut. This place is horrible!!! I gave her very specific instructions - Number one on the sides, tall on top for spikes. It's called an Industrial flat-top. It is literally the easiest goth/industrial style to do. You can't fuck it up. But she did. She buchered me so bad, and took it on herself to do whatever she wanted while I sat in the chair for an HOUR. All the chairs point AWAY from the mirrors so you have no idea what they are doing. I have had this same hair cut since Depeche Mode was in Salt Lake City, which was in 2002 and NOBODY has managed to fuck it up till now. I brought my 7 year old grandson with me today to a proper barber shop to start a new grandfather/grandson tradition. Sally took care of the grandson and the result was perfect. Ernie gave me a good haircut to order, and my first every straight razor shave with beard trim. This little shop is right by the Fox and Hound, which is how we stumbled across it for the first time a year ago. As background, a year or so before that, my husband had bought some hair trimming tools just to save a few trips to the quick-haircut type places, which were fine but nothing special. We are in our late twenties, work long hours, always busy, so that just seemed more efficient. But now that he's found this barbershop, he is actually going fir haircuts regularly! About this shop, I should say: it really is old-fashioned, and not just for looks or ironically. The decor is real antiques and the place probably hasn't changed in decades (except to get a credit card machine, thank goodness for us). And it's kind of nice to step back in time, especially at a barber shop! Here, after the haircut they slather the back of the neck in shaving cream and use a real razor to clean it up. Similarly, they do an old fashioned facial shave that my husband raves about. Despite these old fashioned methods, the haircuts here are actually quicker than most places (I know, because I am usually sitting there waiting for him). He has always walked in and gotten a chair right away. I think it's been the same 3 barbers (2 men, 1 woman) the entire last year. He's gotten his hair cut by all three, but he does have a favorite that tells funny stories. Anyway, definitely be prepared for an authentically old-fashioned barber shop, but give it a chance if that type of thing appeals to you. It's worth it! read more

On Sunday at 1:30 I called about the hours. I was told they were open until 2:00. I called again to see if there was time to get a haircut today. Whoever answered the phone, hung up the phone after identifying the business. I tried several times again only to find the telephone was busy. Therefore, I cannot report the hair cut with a negative are positive remark. I was however, surprised the individual hung up the phone on me. If it was too late for another customer, he could have just told me so. I find this surprising. Though, I have never been there, I would not go because of this incident! I received the worst haircut of my whole life at this barber shop. The guy here gave me a hard part half an inch wide and now it looks like I have a runway on my head. I told him exactly what I wanted and it turned out nothing like I explained. It cost me 20$ for this nightmare. I've been using these guys for a few years now and never thought to leave a review. Some of the best haircuts I've ever gotten have been from Ernie. He gives a mean fade and great beard trim. Getting my hair trimmed here makes me remember when my grandfather would take me into to his own barber who he had been using for the better part of 30 years to get my haircut. This is a great barber shop, i wear a flat top hair cut and it is almost impossible to find someone today that can cut a flat top. I have went without a haircut before just because i couldn't arrange my ytime to be with them They are worth waiting on. My barber Ryan is a little wierd sometimes, but in a good way. I came here with my son and as soon as we walked in I was told by some old white lady that she didn't know how to cut "that kind of hair." WTF?!! What she wanted to say is that she doesn't cut black people's hair. Then, she asked the only other barber in the shop, who happened to be white as well, if he knew how to cut that "kind of hair" and he said no I don't. I was highly offended! If you are a barber then you should be trained to cut "all types of hair." They told me that someone else might be able to but that person was at lunch and asked me to come back. Are you kidding me? I walked out and said I will NEVER come back to this racist establishment. You know I was not raised to hate people because of their skin or show any type of prejudice towards anyone! I looked at my son and suddenly felt bad for him because he has no idea what kind of world we are living in because he is barely 2 years old. I decided to give this place a try regardless of the negative reviews. My experience here was not pleasant and I will not return. The woman cutting hair was rude and gave me one of the worst hair cuts I've ever had and I decided to get an old fashioned shave with a straight razor. The guy named "candyman" was nice but raped my face, first using a hair trimmer to "knock down" my stubble, then used a plastic disposable razor to shave, followed by scraping my skin off with a razor blade, dry, without shaving cream. My face was very irritated and he missed loads of hair, the charge for this torture, $44. Worst experience at a Barbor shop. read more

Great haircut, real foam shave around my neck, hot moist towel rub down, and finished with a neck & shoulder message. BTW they trimmed my mustache and it never looked better.
