Every time I go with my husband they always do such a great job with his hair no matter who does it they are all super good at what they do

Terrible experience. Terrible Stylist - I don't care how many years of experience you have, if you lack patience and respect you lack all ability to work in the service industry, especially cosmetic as hair or face is the FIRST thing people see on a person. Started off with the my appointment scheduled for 4:30 starting at 5:00. I even came in early to try and avoid scheduling conflicts and allow them the time to prep for a 4:30 cut start. Alrwady starting late meant the stylist felt pressured to make my service quick and fast so he "can get on to the next client as fast as possible so [he] can feed his cats." That is totally disrespectful upfront and made me feel like there was no care for my cut, just another client so his cats can be fed instead of making his client feel welcomed and cared for. Second, when planning my cut, I explained to the Stylist I wanted a European Flow, and we made sure to describe no razor - all scissors. We went back and forth on length but apparently cleaning up around the year on a flow just meant cut everything in the back so it's short... the base of the WHOLE cut was to get a Flow, I grew my hair for 8 months so I can get this cut. There are a BOAT LOAD of examples of flow haircuts of all lengths and shapes, so regardless of making is a little bit shorter or longer on the side than the example I showed him, a flow means keeping the length especially on the back. Well he was visibly upset because I wanted a slightly shorter length around the ear to clean it up from looking scraggly. I immediately knew he was the wrong stylist to pick because his ONLY worry was working fast and getting me in and out so he can get paid enough for whatever financial stress he was in. After cutting all my hair around the back, I reiterated I did not want a short haircut but to now please fix the top so it meshes well with whatever he did in the back - I wanted a flow and didn't get that here so he tried to comp the cut. I was trying to be respectful and at least still pay the service since I took his time, and miscommunication happens both ways so I know somewhere it must also be my fault in some way I thought the least I could do is still pay for the time. His arrogance showed up again. Telling the front desk "no don't charge him he didn't want a short cut but it's what I gave him so comp" I told the lady to please just charge it so we can just move on and remain respectful but he "threatened" to call my parents since he believed he was "25 years older" and I should listen to my elders... ???? How is that even something that occurs in a service business. This stylist needs to be removed out of sheer disrespect for the clients and their time as well. I should have known from the start to step away but I needed a haircut for an event. Now it's too late but I hope people can learn from this. Avoid AARON from Floyd's in West 7th area of Fort Worth. Utterly disrespectful and rude and lacks decency around his clients. read more

Floyd's 99 Barbershop is my go to barbershop in the area. I've gone there every two weeks since I moved here in June. I haven't had a bad experience yet. All the barbers seem professional and they know what they're doing. I highly recommend making an appointment if you're going in on the weekend. They get pretty busy! read more

I have been to a number of Floyds locations and always been at least OK with the experience. However I recently visited the Fort Worth location and had a terrible experience. My hair stylist was extremely rude and the service was awful. She was incredibly impatient and abrasive with me, as well as being somewhat rough physically when moving my head and telling me what to do, and to top it off the haircut itself was awful. It was very uneven, not what I requested, and felt very rushed. I sadly dont remember the name of the woman cutting my hair but I hope she does not represent the entire staff at this location because if so I am not sure how they are still in business. I almost never write reviews, so I hope this one is taken seriously and the managers of the store see this and have a conversation with the woman who cut my hair. I believe her name was Ashley and she had an A with a heart under it as a tattoo on her neck. All in all this was a legitimately awful experience and I will never be returning to this location or likely any other again. read more

Been going to here for a about a year and half now to get my cut. Patricia was my barber and she has always done a great job. However she wasn't available and I had to try a new one so I scheduled an appointment for "first available." I got there about 10 minutes early and then proceeded to wait for 40 minutes just for someone who came in later than me without an appointment to be seen first. In conclusion I will be taking my business elsewhere. I would discourage any new customers from trying Floyd's based on the timeliness of the service. read more

I was waiting in the lounge after it was over waiting for my kid to finish, and noticed a sign saying "All services finished with our Signature Shoulder Massage." Stylist cut a a plug out of my hair even though I explained I only wanted my sides cleaned up/faded. She used scissors, why if I only wanted my fade freshened, I think it was on purpose. I want to see what in the nites associated with my number. Do use them. read more

My barber was Gabrielle from Denver, great stylist/barber told her I wanted short haircut with been able to comb back and gave her free artistic game. And WOW, she hit it out of the park. She did a fade with been able to gel for easy styling. Not much as a talker but she was worth it. read more

I've been coming to Floyd's 99 for some time now. The location is convenient, the decor is "groovy", the prices are reasonable, the coordinators are helpful and the stylists/barbers seem to know their craft. I will say once I get a stylist and/or barber that understands my problem areas (fat round face and course grey whiskers) I tend to continue to return to them time and time again. Theo is my man at this time. He is a very talented young fella and I trust him so much that most of the time I just let him "create" on my face. And he has never let me down! If you think about it, we are their canvas. A walking, talking referral making canvas. If we look good, they look good which makes them more customers and more money. I have never gotten a bad look from Floyd's, I feel I've always royally been taken care of....maybes it's because I tip, maybe it's because I'm old and I remind them of their grandpa, maybe it because they are all professionals and do exceptionally good work. I've come here for over two years. The staff is a bunch of young, entitled jerks. Here's a prime example of what I mean... today it's absolutely pouring down rain. I have an appointment at 9 AM when they open. I get to the front door at 8:56 AM along with four other customers. The front desk lady sat and looked at us for four minutes, standing in the pouring down rain and would not unlock the door for us. I confronted her when I got inside by commenting "you just going to let us sit outside in the rain??" and she said "We open at 9" with a snarky tone. Now, i've had some good experiences here, but for the most part, the music is way too loud, and the staff is overall extremely rude. Staff is a bunch of Gen Z entitled jerks. I would never recommend this place to anyone else. There's a handful of barbershops around the area that are better and I will be in utilizing them. read more

I asked for a trim up with a low/medium fade. I got a high and tight. Then she says it's my fault because I didn't explain it properly. How else do you explain a trim up? Or how do you hear "high and tight" when someone says "trim up". I've never been treated so poorly. Ever. Do you want to know what it would be like to have ANTIFA cut your hair? This is the spot for you. Nobody here knows how to cut hair. 2 other patrons were arguing with their stylist when I walked in for my appointment . I understand being booked 45 mins before closing, but never in my life have I ever felt so uncomfortable with a haircut for one of my kids. Feeling of being rushed, no time wasted, no communication with parent, didn't ask how much of trim I want cut off the top just did what he felt was necessary. Fade came out completely awful. (As you can see, unable to blend whatsoever) Whoever worked 8/11/24 an hour before closing,(red head with glasses) should be ashamed. Also whatever he sprayed, the "post haircut spray" on the back of his head, (with no warning for a 5 year old) sprayed directly into his eye, (which is STILL red and irritated) completely awful service. Definitely will not be back to this place. Now I'm going elsewhere to fix a haircut that one of your barbers did an awful job on. If ya'll don't wanna work 45 mins prior to closing, y'all need to make sure the owner is aware and prevents online booking. The hairstylist was clearly in a massive rush, like he had somewhere to be, going insanely fast. It's a 5 year olds head. Literally..Completely disgusted at this service. I walked in with a decent amount of hair, styled kind of like Son Heung-min from Tottenham. I specifically asked for less than a quarter of an inch off the top and to blend the sides. The stylist proceeded to take off just about everything on the top and did not blend the sides. Then to try to fix it, I suggested a fade on the sides. While the fade did help a bit, I now look as though I am about to drafted into the military. This is by far the absolute worst haircut I have had in my entire life. I left the building looking like a peaky blinder about to go play Sunday league football after drinking at the local pub. Not happy at all. read more

Stopped here when my regular shop had too long a wait. Love the music, artsy walls and vibe. Good, not great cut. $21 is fair for what you get. Might come back just for in between more expensive styling. Parking is an issue if weather is bad. Inside Montgomery Plaza main drag, so only one layer of parking and it is always crowded. Got a haircut this afternoon without setting up an appointment. Sat down for about 15 seconds before they called my name. The place was busy but they always seem to have lots of people on the clock; if you're flexible with who you get, the wait times are minimal. I saw Jillian B. today - she's great. Good conversation and a great cut. I'm pretty standard - left-side part with a high-ish fade. Felt at ease because she obviously could tell what I was looking for based on my previous cut from a different shop. My only complaint about Floyd's is their seemingly high employee turnover. While I've been going there for a long time (5+ years), I have only had *my* barber for a few months at a time before they vanish. I have been coming here for about four months for my hair cut. I like a licensed barber to cut my hair because they can use a straight razor, which is why I came here. Due to their name, I wagered they have licensed barbers but apparently they currently do not. This is a disappointment, so I am still in search of a legitimate licensed barber. In the mean time, this place does a good job. I've had a different person cut my hair each time and they all take a very long time fading the sides down to skin tight. I'm not sure why, maybe it is difficult for these younger professionals to do it more quickly, which is what I am use too. Regardless, it turns out well done. I just have to allot about an hour and half for my haircut currently. The other issue here is regardless of my appointment time, and arriving 5-10 minutes early for each one, I am never taken on time. I generally wait 15-30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. This is frustrating but it is what it is. Due to these reasons I am still searching for new places to try and have tried a few that were about the same as here. I have continued coming here rather consistently due to the location being convenient. If they held more closely to my appointment time I would give them four stars. read more

I've been fairly regular to this barbershop for a little over a year now and even before that before I moved out of town. Generally I don't have any problems and service is excellent, but the past two times I've been here my barbers have seemed more preoccupied horsing around with their coworkers than actually cutting my hair. Both cases I've explained how I wanted my hair cut (the same way I've done it for the past year) only to get the opposite or even so far as being told half way through my cut that she actually wasn't able to do the fade I usually get. Which, hasn't been a problem in the past. Both times taking an hour or longer. It's unfortunate as I love the atmosphere of Floyd's, but dissatisfying service leads me to find another shop. read more

Yikes. Won't be going back. So, set up a 2PM appointment. Checked in at 1:50PM, didn't get seated till 2:30PM. No check in from the receptionists, till the barber was cleaning up his chair a couple minutes before 2:30PM. Informed barber I needed a bald mid-fade with a drop on the back. Half an hour later he's close to being done, which is alright, no rush for quality. But, his mid-fade was basic, the drop in the back was uneven so I fixed it at home. He did a good job with the blade at the end. Needless to say his mid-fade was more of a low fade with a taper. And yet, still charged quality price of $30. Of course I tipped after, for respect of the profession, but that was that. I'm a guy in my late twenties relocated from Dallas to Fort Worth. My background in fades has been an extensive over 5 year barber business relationship with multiple barbers in Dallas. I've seen better, much more professional, cleaner work at the same cost. Even less sometimes from those local small business barbershops. DONT recommend for those who need a serious fade and are used to attention to detail. read more

I am confident that I am the only almost 60 year old woman who goes to Floyd's - But I have a Bob with an undercut- and just to get it shaved at my regular salon is $45. So I go to Floyd's every few weeks for $19! Great service and all 3 times I've been I've had different stylists and they all did a great job. My ONLY complaint is that they advertise a shoulder massage with every service- and that's never been done or even offered.. read more

Worst haircut I've ever gotten. If I remember correctly the stylists name is Ashley. I told her before she started cutting my hair what I wanted. I asked for a mid fade bc I had a bald spot, which hair is slowly growing back in. I usually get that covered by my longer hair in the back and she went right on and cut way higher than I normally get it and how do I stop her once she went higher? Seems trendy which is cool for atmosphere. I asked for someone really good with fades: the result? A very very quick clipper cut and a very very middle of the road and near below average fade. I said zero all around and a higher fade. The result: barely a zero and low as could be. Not a good place if you're looking for a top notch fade. Pretty below average but paid for atmosphere I guess. Went in for a TRIM and the girl gave me a hair cut by the time I saw it there was nothing I could do, when I got home I straighten it to find out there were lots of long pieces in the back that she did not cut. i went back that afternoon she trimmed the pieces and it looked fine but the next morning I washed and straightened my hair and the front is much shorted than the back. Same for my son, they had to cut his hair so much because they kept getting it wont. Will never go back. read more
