If you are scoring above 700, I would not recommend this course as it spends a LOT of time on basic, pretty easy questions. 2. The pace of this class is S.L.O.W - the burden on the instructor is that she has to address all questions on the online 'chat'. That slows everything down, with people who have not done their homework affecting the progress of everyone else. 3. I give this review 3 stars because I loved the resources Veritas provides. There is enough to keep you busy every week, challenging questions, and covers all 'types' of questions. The practice tests are also hard and challenge you to think beyond the superficial. 4. Hailey was cool & so was her TA. I appreciated her help, her determination to make class fun, and her prompt replies to emails with follow-up questions. In conclusion, if you are already a high-performer and looking for a 20-30 point increase, I would point to Magoosh or if you got the cash, then a private tutor.

And now that I've finished, I have one word of advice -sign up for Ravi's class. Ravi teaches the material in a fun, straight-forward, and very easy to understand way. The class taught me not just how to master the material, but specifically (and very importantly) the strategies needed to score high. In all of my past education from elementary to university, I have never had a teacher as effective as Ravi. You can tell he knows everything backwards and forwards. If you doubt his credentials, you should know he has both an MBA and a JD. There's really nothing else that can be said. Well he's also really cool. So there's that.

I was initially very skeptical about online tutoring with MyGuru since I've always felt that I learn better in person. But the experience that I had with my tutor Stefan far exceeded my expectations. Coming from a social science academic background, my foundation in math was rather weak. I had taken the GRE before I started tutoring with MyGuru and scored 162 verbal 157 quantitative; I was planning to apply to highly selective programs and these scores were far from sufficient. During my sessions with Stefan, we went over my mistakes from GRE practice tests and homed in on my weak areas in math. Stefan would send study notes after each session and would give me helpful pointers on what to study for next time I retook the GRE after 8 tutoring sessions and scored 165 verbal 163 quantitative, a 9-point increase. MuGuru is the best test preparation outlet that I have used bar none. With very reasonable prices and excellent quality instruction, I thoroughly recommend MyGuru for anyone preparing for a standardized test.

Occasionally, when my kids are not following a lesson at school, they do not hesitate to ask the tutors at Mathnasium to spend time to work on that specific lesson, so they can be more prepared when they return to school the next day. Overall, my kids believes Mathnasium is crucial for all types of students. The El Segundo location is convenient , and all the tutors are great with the kids. The head staff is very patient, and is willing to take time to discuss the progression of the student with the parents. If you are on the fence whether you should send your child to Mathnasium, then I highly suggest you to. The struggle should not be at home, and be left to the professionals.

What helped me is my experience training at SCSI and the internship that I just completed with the school. It helped me get the job and now I have two assignments in the next month where pay is at $25 an hour. I also just had a law firm contact me after I posted an add, interested in me working for them. Your success is limited by your own limitations. Many people might complain they can't find a job, as one previous yelper mentioned before me, but it's California. What did you expect? We're overcrowded with people in every market and every job. Competition is fearce. So don't be surprised if you ask an interpreter for advice/info and they give you the run around. They're just trying to protect their livelihood. It's a dog-eat-dog world. What she failed to mention, (yelper) is that the LA court IS saturated with Interpreters who are contractors. That much of it is true. As well as other courts in LA county. But what she failed to mention is that the Government is actually H I R I N G people to work through the Court system. Problem is no one wants to work for them. Why? Because the pay is significantly lower than that of a contractor and/or they don't wish to be tied down to a 9-5 job. Understandable. But don't complain if you can't find jobs because I've found P L E N T Y all over the state of CA and the pay is around $70-80k. I've also found jobs outside the state. So in all, your success depends on Y O U. No school can promise Y O U job placement, Y O U have to get off your lazy butt and look for work. I wasn't raised to depend on someone to serve me on a silver platter and because of that, I'm already finding success. All thanks to SCSI.

Logan is at the top of his class when it comes to science, math, and physics but really struggles with writing essays. My sister knew these essays were going to be challenging for him so she hired a local tutor to assist with the process. After months of working with this local tutor, let's just say it did not go well and Logan ended up with a very boring statement that did not represent him or make him stand out. It may have even put the admissions committee to sleep. With a 7% percentage acceptance rate (4,994 out of 68,000 accepted in 2023) Cornell is extremely competitive and it was imperative that he had amazing essays. When I reached out to Felicia to explain the situation she shared her strong insight that these essays must make the admissions committee really care about Logan.
