I had a total of 4 different vendors provide quotes and discuss the problem with me. Turns out there was only 1 downspout handling the entire side of our house. Wood & Wood was great to communicate with (much of it via email and photos which was just fine for going back and forth on some smaller details) and they had the best price. They came and were very quick to remove the old gutter install a new length of gutter and the new downspout and clean up everything. And considering I was at work while they did all the work I really wouldn't have known they had been there at all! Not only did he offer us an excellent price, he also took pictures up there, showing us the problems and how they could be solved. We were having leaks during big rain storms, so (at his own instigation - we had not even really thought it would be possible), he came over here and put a tarp on the damaged area to keep water out until the roof replacement could begin. This was enormously helpful. The workers were all very professional and hardworking. They stripped off two layers of roofing, replaced plywood (we had not known that this would be necessary, but Rob had told us it was a possibility and had included a quote for it in his proposal - once the old roofing was removed, it was obvious that the plywood was needed). They also fixed our chimney which was in much worse repair than we had realized. This all happened in two days! They cleaned up the whole area beautifully each day. They had also made a little lean-to structure that protected my vegetables and flowers from being hit by falling debris from the roof! This was very effective, and the plants were all fine afterward. I heartily recommend Rob's Roofing for anyone who wants a thoroughly professional roofing job that will look beautiful. And then, when we wouldnt give it to him, after we had paid him the entire estimated sum, he left the job, unfinished and didn't respond to calls, emails or even a mailed letter.
