Contacted A1 garage door repair and spoke to a representative, they gave me an estimate and told her I wanted to check back and she was very pushy, she said she would waive the service charge, which have never been charged that with any other company, she also said they would do the tuneup safety check for free as well. So I made an appointment and the technician showed up and immediately wanted to upsell me on other stuff. I told him let's just do the seals only which is what I needed. He said parts are special order and would take 2 weeks, so I said go ahead and order, he said he needed a 50% deposit, I said ok and wrote him a check. 2 weeks later no response, I called them and they said the parts weren't delivered and they screwed up. So they said it would take another week or so to get the parts. I told them forget it and send me a refund. The person said it would take 10-14 days for a refund check to get mailed and a supervisor would need to call me because it was over $100, so no call again! Called them after a week and they said they screwed up again. Now allegedly my refund is on the way? This company is horrible at communicating and not very professional at all. I called another company in town and they ordered the parts and no deposit required and parts came in a week and they came out and replaced the seals and were $100 cheaper than this company. Honesty I wrote a review a few weeks ago about our experience with A1 garage . My husband and I are In our late 70's I explained to the young man that was here how hit it gets in my garage with doing laundry and my freezer being there I was reassured by the door we were ordering and the insulation that my garage would be significantly cooler well they lied my garage is already In the 90's found out we also paid way way to much . I received service from A1 with their tech Robert here in Kingman, AZ in May of this year. Robert was was polite, professional, neat, courteous...a perfect boy scout. The service that he provided was excellent. My garage door has never operated better. He installed a new garage door opener, and made sure that every aspect of the install was perfect, including the coordination with my MyQ System, the lift springs, and chain tautness. New sensors, capped wires, and a fantastic job cleaning up. The only way that I could tell that he was here was that everything worked! Great job, thanks Robert! read more

When our garage door suddenly failed, I found their ad in the local Shopper mailer. I was thrilled to see they had same day service available. But the "technician" they sent was really a salesman, which explained the same day "service." Shame on me for not checking Yelp reviews before scheduling a repair. The technician/salesman stood in our garage and looked at the door but literally never touched it. He did not bring any tools. He spent 30 minutes standing there messing around on his iPad so he could send us an email with a bunch of quotes. He said he could have a crew from Las Vegas fix the door for $3500 or replace it for $4000. These prices sounded insane to me for what is a very small garage door that didn't even have a broken spring. He never even offered to assist my husband in straightening the door so our garage was at least secure. After he left we did some YouTube and Amazon research and in about 90 minutes found we could get all the parts to repair and refurbish the door for under $200, and complete the repair in a couple of hours ourselves. Suffice to say if we do end up hiring a repair person it will not be this company. The only positive thing I can say about them is the salesman said he would waive the $59 service fee, although they still emailed me an invoice. read more

These guys suck, they put a bandaid fix on my garage door in bullhead and it lasted a month. Then they wouldn't fix it, just wanted to sell me a new door. And their quote was more than double of another installer in town. Avoid them at all costs. They will rip you off. read more

I made an appointment with A1 on Tuesday for Thursday afternoon to have a door repaired on a rental in BHC. On Thursday morning I get a call saying that they can't make it. Very Expensive. Professional installer. Very friendly and competent but very high pressure sales and costs are astronomical. Never let up on trying to sell you more. I'd give the tech 5 stars but after I started researching what my service should have cost I now feel ripped off. I'm sure what was installed is good but I paid 3-4 times what I should have even on the high end of the scale. Cannot recommend. read more

Garage door opener stopped working, they showed up on time, how ever the young man did do anything, except trying to sell me an opener that cost $1100. I promptly asked him to leave. I contacted another local company and got the same opener over 60% cheaper. Stay away from these guys. read more
