They make good repairs, I have no complaint there (in fact the only complaints I could think of regarding my PS3 would actually be Sony's fault); my problem with Wired Extreme is the customer treatment. I brought in my PS3 that had the Yellow Light of Death and they told me I would have to pay $60 to $80; it would be ready a week later. However, I was told I would actually have to pay double the original price and it would take around a month. I finally got it back about two months later; it would've been nice to have known ahead of time that it was going to take longer than they said before I went to pick it up. On a separate occasion in which my PS3 died, I sent it back in and they informed me that, best case scenario, I'd get a quarter of a year on it before it died again. They told me that they could replace it with a new PS3 Slim, instead of going out and buying one from a store at a larger price. I asked them if they could move all of my information from the original PS3 to the Slim and they claimed they could. They told us that they could have it ready a few weeks later, so we agreed. My dad called them on the day they told us to and they told him to come by at 4 PM that day. When he drove down there (a one hour drive total), but they told him they had to post-pone it. We got it back a few months later and we found out that it only had the data for one of our games, along with none of our users and three users we've never seen before. While these might not have been something Wired Extreme could control, once again it would've been great to get some feedback on stuff. For instance, they could inform their customers that the estimated time they expect the repairs to be made could very well be way off from the actual time; they could tell the customer that there could be a change in pricing; or they could tell the customer the risk of error instead of assuming the best would come and not get the customer's hopes up. However, they promised me my original PS3 would be up and running when they were done with it and, aside from the delays, they didn't break their promise; they promised me they would be able to carry over my information to the PS3 Slim and, while it didn't have all the previous data, it had all my important information from much more involved games like Metal Gear Solid 4. So if you need a new console, but you want to keep the data, they may not be the safest choice. However, if your console dies and you need it fixed, I think you should take it to Wired Extreme.

The other day, my computer wouldn't send signal to any of its peripherals. Power was coming through, just no data. I called James at High Wire and described the problem, thinking I would have to bring the computer to him and pay a minimum charge to have him inspect the problem. Instead, he told me a number of things that could have caused the problem and walked me through a possible solution. Like magic, my computer booted with no problems and my mouse, keyboard, and monitor were all back.
