It's scary that I have no recollection of what happened, one minute I was looking at the green left turn light, the next, I was sideways with my helmet skidding across the asphalt. California CVC 21208 basically states that on a roadway with a bike lane, bicyclists traveling slower than traffic must use the bike lane EXCEPT when making a left turn... With that said, the police report put me at fault!?!?! I was rear ended riding a bike by a car! I didn't want to legally pursue anyone if it was indeed just an accident, but I have no idea if the driver was on his phone, not paying attention or what, plus he left me with a broken leg and medical bill was north of $130K and I knew my medical insurance would only cover so much. Scott Corwin was referred to me by my cousin-in-law who had great results when she was hit by a car many years ago. Speaking to Mr. Corwin for the first time, I can tell he was result driven and it was great to know that he operate on a contingency basis, so no legal fee unless there was a settlement. Despite the police report's result, Scott used his years of knowledge and experience and was able to get a settlement from the other party's insurance that covered majority of my medical responsibilities. Julie Harbeson (his legal assistant) was also instrumental in assisting with all the information that the other parties requested as I was instructed to "talk to no one". Scott has one goal and that is to get you financial compensation for the pain and bills that the other person left you with. If you are looking for a lawyer who checks in on your recovery and have small talk from time to time, look elsewhere or better yet, ask yourself what really matters as you look in the mirror at your broken body part/s.

Scott handled things with the insurance companies, dealt with all the trouble, and secured a great settlement for me to compensate for the injuries I suffered at the hands of a reckless driver. He's got lots of experience in the industry, so if you've got a personal injury case, Scott's the guy to call to help you get your justice.

I did pay him a retainer fee of $500 and without any communication about the time he was taking to correct 2 film contracts, he sent me a bill of $1325. I was shocked. I never asked him to work for more than the $500 I gave him. He insulted me 3 times verbally and in public...I have been harassed by him, mentally abused, Insulted. He has been aggressive and in my opinion totally unprofessional. I don't believe that reflect the standard behaviour of a professional Attorney. His work for me was more expensive than other lawyers at the end of it. He made me feel like he was cheaper than others, but I believe other lawyers will expedite the work I gave him in less than 2 hours. Like in good business manners, each party should know how much it will cost for a specific work. At the end of it, after many court session, I lost the case in the ground of being served properly. I learn a lot in this process. Someone can still win a case if they serve you at a mail box. Even you did not receive or become aware of it, you will have to prove that you were outside the state or country to win a motion to vacate the judgement. I worked with laywers before and that never happened. Each lawyer told me exactly how much the work will cost me and that is what I was expecting with him as well. If I knew that it will cost me that much, I will never hiring him or at least tell him to stop. That how business should be conducted.
