I think my dog was trying to tell me something when he locked me out of the house. Yes, stepping out for two seconds to take out the trash, my dog managed to simultaneously scare me, piss me off as well as hurt my feelings. Luckily, I had my car keys with me, so I jetted to Crystal L's house to borrow her 'Net and phone. I researched two places, and though A2Z quoted me higher than the other guy, the owner was a lot more communicative in explaining my options, the process, best-case/worst-case scenario. William was sent over to assist me, and I highly highly *highly* recommend his services. This single dad of three calls himself "the only long-haired, red-headed, big Irish locksmith in Houston." He's probably right. My situation was a sticky one: one sided-lock, second-floor of an apartment. After trying a few inexpensive options with no success, he finally suggested a different tactic, and it worked! Hallelujah. When writing out my check, I noticed his van had a different company name from A2Z, so I asked for his personal business card in case Tex ever felt the need to kick me out again. Unfortch, he wouldn't provide me with it; apparently, William has so much respect and loyalty to A2Z which contracts him out and doesn't want to steal any of their clients. I bought a used Mustang on 9-27-13 and it only came with one programmed key... Scared I may misplace it when I need to leave, I decided I needed an extra back up key. I actually bought the key (a VW style one) online but needed someone to program & cut it. The dealer wanted $300!!! JUST to program! I called around and was pleasantly greeted by A2Z Locksmiths. They gave me an AWESOME price and scheduled me for the next morning. Less than 30 minutes there with his tool on the car, I had a new key! They made it easy and quick. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable. Had locks rekeyed. Couple of them had to be picked. Was told a couple of them were old hardware from kwikset. When I got home key wouldn't come out of the "old" one. Staff wouldn't rekey a new lock for me. Told me to push on the guide by the key and the key would come out. Did this and it did. Still think if they knew this should have asked if I wanted to deal with that. Oh well this lock was a waste of $15. I'll probably get another locksmith to rekey the new lock when I buy one. read more

Neil and Brandon are very professional. I spoke with Neil on the phone first and from the get-go, I knew I had made the right decision in trusting him. His website is very informative so I highly suggest going there to check out the services he offers. Spoke with Brandon on the day that I decided to get a key made for a friend who had lost her car keys. He had a good and trusting energy about him over the phone. We chatted about cost and time of delivery for the key. Brandon was very cordial and accommodating and did his best even when the car manufacturer database went down before he could get the proper code to make the key. When I arrived and the key was not ready, he let me know that he had been on the phone bugging the manufacturer to let him know as soon as they were up. Just got off the phone with them, and they actually told me a cheaper way to do what I needed done, when had he not said anything, I would've happily paid them to do. I asked "Why did you tell me that when I would've paid for your service"? He responded "I just want to be honest with you" and seemed shocked that I would've been amazed by honesty. Due to my location the quote was higher than I could afford, but after calling over 10 places, it was nice to get a firm quote to include trip charge and the vehicle keyphob replacement, wish i could afford him because he was knowledgeable and professional over the phone. read more

I ordered a new lock for installation and could not be happier with the results. Here is the kicker. Wrong lock was supplied by the distributor, a new lock was delivered and installed 2 days later. What really impressed me was the way A2Z handled a problem. No discussion, arguments or problem, simply a return to the shop and immediate return call with a new installation date. I woke up one morning ready to start my work week and found that the night before someone attempted to break into my old car and in the process damaged the lock. I didn't have a key fob and the car does not have any other point of entry so I was screwed. I called around to find someone willing to come to my house to fix it and this was the only business willing to come in the evening, to include the labor and parts, to guarantee their work, to do it soon, and to charge a reasonable amount. Not only did the gentleman come but he shopped around for my part, found that it was not worth replacing it and fixed my lock dust cover (which was the only thing damaged) with a screwdriver tip free of charge! I was expecting at least a service charge but he refused to charge me. In a world where most people try to make as much money off of you or take advantage of the situation, his honesty and common decency was sure refreshing to encounter. From now on, if me or anybody else has a need for a locksmith I will happily refer them to A2Z Houston Locksmith. read more
