The day before yesterday, my friend and I became stranded on the southbound side of the Florida Turnpike near Atlantic Boulevard in Pompano due to mechanical issues with the car. It is obviously scary and it was quickly approaching dusk. I called Roadside Assistance as I am a AAA member. The dispatcher Mr. Ripley, was very sympathetic and assured me they would find us a tow ASAP. He kindly updated me every 10 minutes and within a very short time sent me the contact information for Earnest, our tow truck driver. Mr. Earnest was there within 15 minutes and was so kind and professional and delivered the car to my friend's driveway, leaving the key where we asked him to. Excellent roadside response, service and communication in Jacksonville, FL. However, they will not service certain North Jacksonville areas and especially at night leaving roadside customers stranded. Insurance rates increased by $50 every six months even while having an excellent record last three years and one ticket in 12 years AAA is highly expensiv. Hen I tried to lower my liability they stated it is FL law thst I keep 100/300/100. They tried to give me a lower lisbil when I called to cancel. After my cancellation of auto insurance AAA deceitfully lied and kept most of my refund claiming if they cancelled I would have a lapse in my policy with the new auto insurance company. I was with AAA 12 years and my rates went up from $122/ month to $300 per month. Why? AAA GREED! read more

You can never get a person and the customer service is not good, one year you have a sales rep and the next year they are gone, nobody tells you and then you just have a nobody? The end of an era... I am so angry with myself for hanging onto my AAA membership these last 5 years... There was a time when I used to go to AAA to get travelers checks, maps, trip routing, and of course... towing services. For over 40 years I have been a loyal member... the last 5 years have been nothing but one miserable experience after another... Need a tow? Well, it seems you just can't get a tow if you are an AAA member. I have been left in the side of the road with a wrecked car in the sun and rain for hours while empty tow truck after empty tow truck just drive by and wave. I have sat at my house waiting to get a tow so I can go to work multiple times (like today) and no truck for hours or updates! Today I waited 5 hours and still could not get an arrival estimate! When I POLITELY mentioned that I would like to talk to customer service about my membership, I was promptly hung up on. When I called back and asked the same, I was put on hold and no one ever returned to the call. Had to hang up. Needless to say, I feel like I am forced to sever my relationship with AAA after many many years... (more than 2/3rds of my life as a member) AAA is dead. They only hang on, it seems, to milk a few more dollars out of loyal "old" customers like me before they go away for good. Terrible company. For a company that people use for reliability and peace of mind in a crappy situation they are the most unreliable company I have ever encountered. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH AAA! I recently had an issue with AAA where I called for roadside assistance for a flat repair, and let me tell you my story. I submitted a roadside assistance request with AAA, they sent one of their 3rd party vendors to facilitate the flat repair of my vehicle. The technician proceeded to jack my car with a floor jack and placed it in the wrong place and caused significant damage. He then repositioned the jack and jacked it up again from the correct position to change the tire. When I reported the issue to AAA they told me that I had to deal with this damage directly with the vendor. I did not hire this vendor and had no ability to contact them nor did I have any leverage to persuade the vendor to repair the damage. After many calls to AAA they did finally provide the vendor's phone number. I contacted the vendor and they will not return my calls and have ignored over 20 calls to them. I have no leverage on this vendor and AAA will not support me in my pursuit to get the damage repaired. I have been a member of AAA for over 20 years but they still refused to help me to get this vendor to do the right thing and fix the damage they caused. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH AAA, they will not support you and will hang you out to dry when their shitty vendors cause damage to your vehicle. BEWARE of AAA they are crooks and are not worth your time or money. read more

AAA had me wait 4 + hours for a tow truck today. Kept telling me 30 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 5 minutes. You know, leading me on and on and on. Just be upfront and tell me how long it will take. Then I can make other arrangements. Very disappointed. read more

I have been a member for 43 years but haven't used any service in about a decade. Note, that's about $1000 in fees without ever using them. I thought it was good insurance. My membership card says the expiration date is 11 months from now. When I finally need them they inform me that the expiration date only refers to the physical plastic card not the actual membership date. BUYER BEWARE. They just lost a long time member and don't seem to care. read more

We've been members of AAA for years and don't often need their vehicle services, but it's great to have reliable AAA support when a problem does occur. My car battery died. The AAA rep came within 15 minutes to jump it. Wow! That was fast. I may have even glimpsed a cape flapping behind him. He determined my battery would not rise from the dead. So after a brief, unemotional memorial service, the rep pulled a shiny new battery from his van. The trumpets heralded, and he quickly installed the new battery. My cost? $10. Apparently, car batteries in Florida often experience premature and untimely deaths (is there ever a timely death for a car battery?). Since AAA had installed my last battery only 2.5 years ago, it was still under some sort of warranty and the replacement cost was minimal. More trumpets, please! AAA doesn't always arrive this fast, nor is the outcome always this satisfying, but I'll stick with them knowing that the alternative of dealing with car issues on my own can be much worse. I am a PAID AAA Member. It took me AN HOUR to find an operator I could talk to on the phone. I don't use a "smart phone" I talk to live people. I am a PAID MEMBER, understand, a CUSTOMER. There should be a staff member 24 hours patiently waiting for my call. Finally I talk to someone. Person that showed up was great. AAA wouldn't allow that person to change Sebring battery. read more

My sister blew a tire on the Sawgrass expressway going east at 7:00 in the morning. she called AAA( a service she pays for) and 6 hours later she was still on the side of the road waiting!!! she called several times and was given the run around every time. Every time she called she was quoted a later and later wait time than previously. After 6 hours of waiting she cancelled her membership which they managed to do within seconds. she had to call a local tow company and pay out of pocket for the tow! This is a review SOLELY for AAA Florida, not ANY mechanic shop I have never tried. I'm complaining about the tow service AAA Florida did never give me. This is what happened to me. Last Monday November 7 at 4:45 pm I placed a request to get a towing service to transport my car from West South Ranches to Coral Springs, in South Florida. The app (I placed the request on the app) said the tow truck would be arriving at 7:43 pm (3 hours later) so I decided to wait, the three hours came and went and no news from the truck either so I call them to get any updates to receive as an answer that they couldn't tell me the time the service would arrive. I went ballistic and asked to speak to a supervisor as the person I was speaking to could not give me a straight answer. She transferred the call straight to a voicemail that said the offices were closed for the day. I had to get my wife to come and pick me up (30 miles from home) and leave the car stranded where it was. The following day I turned on my phone and fouls a voicemail from AAA informing me they finally got a truck in the area.... At 2:58 am!.I can understand AAA do not handle truck routes and dispatchers as they are independent contractors but what I despise is why AAA did not keep me posted and left me waiting and waiting indefinitely. After 19 years of membership in Florida and 9 years of membership in California, AAA has elected to not allow our family to renew our roadside service. We used 7 services out of 24 for 6 memberships this year. We were left waiting for service twice, once where they did not show up for close to 24 hours. Called the number we were given to find out why we were no longer welcome as customers and were told by the "non renewal" agent that she has no details, nothing could be done, no one we could speak to. The letter states disproportionate amount of service calls. Again, 6 paid memberships with 24 allowed service calls. Used 7. We tried other phone numbers and asked for other people to speak to. The agent said there is no one else. So - PLEASE - unless you want to be left stranded waiting many, many hours and sometimes overnight for service, do not choose AAA ROADSIDE for your roadside service company. read more

We were members for over ten years and ended up cancelling this membership and protested it with the CC company that we charged it too. This companies agents literally left us beside the road in Georgia and I still have all the documentation, I should have sued them and Autozone. Also we have never gotten auto insurance from them as they were never been competitive read more

Putridly horrible service with no excuses. Expected tow truck within reasonable 60-90 minutes only to continue to receive messages from both AAA and tow service of unexplained delays every 30-45 minutes, with the driver placing other rides ahead of me. No weather, rush hour, nor accidents in the area. My mechanic has been waiting all day and my tome has been compromised. I do not recommend AAA at all. Stick with extended warranties. Better service. From management to the inept tow truck driver, I highly DO NOT recommend these inept morons! read more
