As luck…read morewould have it, I saw an eye-catching lawn sign on a nearby boulevard advertising The Little Green Mowing Company. Before Steve and Lisa showed up at my home, I perused their web site. One of the things that immediately interested me was how they calculate their pricing. I dislike paying for services without knowing whether I'm being charged a "fair" price. The Little Green Mowing Company bases their prices on the square footage of their customers' lot. So there's no "guessing" or wondering whether you're getting as good a price as somebody else. When Steve and Lisa showed up to have a look at my property, Steve was insistent that they make a clean edge along my flowerbeds and wherever the grass butted up against the sidewalk, fence and curb. Before I got sick, I used to maintain these areas myself with just a grass trimmer. Since my home sits on a corner lot, there is a significant amount of edging to do, including two boulevards. Steve said it would take extra time to clean up all the edges, but he further explained that, after this was done, it would be easy for him to maintain at no further cost. I was reluctant to spend the extra money for this because my finances are tight, but after further discussion, I gave Steve the green light. In short, it was worth every penny and then some. I had numerous people comment how great our lawn looked this year. Bottom line: Get the edging done if Steve and Lisa recommend it. You will be astounded how much it enhances the curb appeal of your property. Steve and Lisa did a fabulous job. Lisa is almost always smiling which brightened my day. They make a great team. I'm sure I could find a neighborhood kid to cut my grass for a lot less, but I've learned long ago that you almost always get what you pay for. I would much rather pay a fair price for a great looking yard, than pay a great price for just a fair looking yard. I give The Little Green Mowing Company two thumbs way up. However, I sure hope Steve and Lisa can maintain the quality of service as their company expands. It's tough to find people who take the same pride of workmanship and attention to detail that Steve and Lisa demonstrate, but I'm hopeful that they will find a way to do it.

He assured me that by no means was there any trickery or deception, and my negative experience was likely the result of a combination of miscommunication, and a very busy time for the business. I also re-read his original email to me advising that they could not do the project and he did say in the email that they could no longer do it 'based on our timeline', and did not say that they were not able to do it at all, which is how I interpreted that email. So with that in mind, I suggested some things that could improve communication and his relationship with future clients, and those suggestions were welcomed. Based on this conversation, I now feel that there was no sinister motivation, and it was merely miscommunication and other projects being signed before mine. I am still disappointed that they couldn't do the project, but satisfied that I wasn't swindled.
