My husband and I CONSTANTLY receive junk mail from AAA Life Insurance. We've tried calling them, emailing them, reporting to the BBB, adding our mailing address to a federal junk mail opt-out website, and they continue to fill our mailbox with crap. Even worse, it's never branded as AAA Life Insurance and instead looks like an official document that's necessary to open. This practice tells me that they're aware people are tired of receiving their junk and are resorting to hiding who they are to trick people into opening it. Don't never ever trust AAA LIFE INSURANCE. They charged auto pay checking account $55 for a $5000 life insurance policy. That is for age bracket 75 to 79. I was born in 1956, I'm still 68 years old. For my age group 65 to 69 they should be charging my only $35 a month for a $5000 life insurance policy. Instead they're charging me the $55 a month rate. I called their office on September 17, 2025 to correct this problem. I originally wanted to cancel their ripoff life insurance policy. But they told me they would correct this problem within 7 to 10 business days. It's been pass that 10 business days time frame. The date today is October 5 2025. In 3 days, October 8 2025 they will be charging my checking account $55 again. I'm definitely gonna stop payment from my bank and canceling this AAA LIFE INSURANCE POLICY. "AGAIN" "BE VERY AWARE"! Like other reviewers, this company continues to send my wife and I junk mail multiple times a month. I emailed AAA months ago and was told that they would update my profile and the junk mail would stop. It didn't. I filed a complaint and posted a negative review on BBB.org. That didn't change anything. I called AAA Life Insurance directly and was told that the junk mail would stop. We continue to receive multiple pieces of junk mail every month. Horrible customer service, not rude but non existent. They informed us, my husband and I, that our payment in July was late. I let them know we sent it via bill pay from my bank on the 10th of July. A week later same request- for my payment that I already sent. I asked my bank about it and they informed me yes, they sent it. So I called them and they told me it was never applied, that was their mantra the whole time- it was never applied- (Um, I don't work there so you would have to check it out) Never a word from them, like-"hey let me look into that for you" - nothing. They told me to email and I did - they told me the same thing- never applied to your account. I had to return to my bank and they gave me the necessary documents to email back to them and then they sent me my payment that was never applied! This was September mind you, I canceled both policies with them early August when they wanted me to pay the next month a double payment. Total bait and switch. Read the fine print. They will bait you into signing up, and even at a flat "no medical exam" rate, they will still require to you re-qualify periodically (with medical exam) to continue the coverage, then raise your rates based on age/health issues you'd normally develop over time, until it's beyond stupid, you cancel, and they keep the money you previously paid in. It's very lucrative...for them. AAA started out as an auto club, and for that, they're dependable. This is just a sideline gimmick that makes them a lot of $$ by marketing to people who haven't expressed and interest, and likely know little about what we need to research, learn, ask, and look for (comparing "apples to apples") to get a fair deal in Life Insurance. read more

Whatever happened to providing Exceptional Customer Service?! PROS - - Life Insurance offerings are mediocre to say the least CONS - - Inept customer service representatives (via the phone and email) - Could not complete a simple change for my Form Of Payment request - No local AAA office will want to assist you with any Life Insurance matters Here's the thing; the local AAA offices (San Francisco Bay Area) are great for Auto and Travel needs. The agents there do accept Life Insurance enrollment (at least they did for me back in 2012) and are quite eager to do so. However, once you've been approved and your Life Insurance policy starts, they will no longer assist you. Instead they refer you to the Michigan 800# to deal with any issues. Not the greatest customer service. Now here's the problem I encountered (with the 800# location): I originally setup the policy with a credit card for automatic monthly billing. So I decided to utilize a different credit card as my monthly form of payment. I called the 800# and requested this and they did so and even mailed me a letter confirming this. Then, 2 weeks later I get a letter stating that my Form of Payment has been changed back to the original credit card (the one I originally setup the policy with). I called the 800# again and asked why this was. They stated to me they did not know why this happened. So I asked the customer service representative to change it back to the new credit card I requested 2 weeks before. The agent did so and I received a letter in the mail confirming this. Then 2 weeks later, the same scenario. I get another letter in the mail stating that my Form of Payment is (again) changed back to my original credit card that I setup the policy with. Needless to say, this went on for 6 months. And to which they had the nerve to mail me a letter stating that my payments were overdue and that they were going to cancel my policy. All because they could not get the Form of Payment correct for my account and were (trying) to bill the original credit card that is no longer valid (because I requested from my credit card vendor to have that card account terminated and to please issue me a new/different card/account number ... which they expeditiously did so.) Fed up with the AAA Life Insurance team's service, I then called the 800# and cancelled my policy and told them why. They did not have any explanation and did not even offer to try and remedy the problem or escalate this issue to a manager. A major disappointment for me. So, that division of AAA will never see business from me ever again. I definitely would NOT recommend them for your Life Insurance needs. read more

I have been generally satisfied with my AAA vehicle insurance and roadside service, having been a member for 42 years so far. However, I keep getting solicitations for life insurance from them which I have absolutely no need for since I have no debts and no dependents. I have always tossed these advertisements for life insurance in the trash. However, they have been coming in envelopes that do not identify the sender, only a return address with no company name. Today I just received an envelope that was labeled on the front with large letters "You qualify for level 3" and another set of large letters, these in bright red, that said "SIGNATURE REQUESTED on documents enclosed." Well, I do not need to be told that my signature is requested, I can see that for myself. But the envelope's claim that I qualified for level 3 is like telling me congratulations, I've been pre-qualified for a credit card or something, which is just a way of trying to lure me into buying something because I'm somehow special and am being offered a deal that only a selected set of people qualify for. So suspecting very strongly that this envelope with all of its earmarks was a solicitation for something, I Googled the sender address, and found that, lo and behold, that address corresponded to AAA Life Insurance. Well, I find it very annoying when business entities that are trying to earn my business send me letters that suggest that I am a special person who has been pre-qualified for something and that do not have any information identifying who they are on their correspondence, forcing me to open their materials to see who they are. If they can't identify who they are openly and honestly instead of trying to trick me into opening their envelope to find lots of flashy colors and and large exaggerated text fonts as at a three-ring circus then I'd jolly well prefer to deal with someone else. And the fact that they continue to send me advertisements for life insurance when I've never responded to their previous advertisements for the same would seem to me that they should at least send me their advertisements less frequently if they can't stop altogether. As satisfied as I've been with AAA auto insurance and roadside assistance for 42 years, I'm not happy at all to receive these stealthy life insurance advertisements in unmarked envelopes every month or so. Now that I've identified the party associated with the return address on these envelopes I will mark them return to sender and drop them back in the mail. These large envelopes with fancy color-printed contents must be quite expensive for them to keep sending to uninterested recipients. read more

I have had a policy with AAA for many years. Responding to a mailing, I called for info and decided to upgrade my policy and apply for my husband. I was given false information regarding rates. I was told that a physical would allow for a lower rate of $102, or I could take the non-physical rate of $142.00. I told the agent up front that I had a misdiagnosis that caused many unnecessary tests and finally found out that I had gallstones, and recently had my gallbladder removed. I was told by the agent that no matter what, the most I would have to pay is $142.00, so it was worth it to me, in that I am retired on a fixed income, and having nothing to hide, we went with the physical. My husbands came through, he had to pay the higher rate of $143.79, because his brother had a heart issue, (caused by lifestyle) then claims at 6'2, 254 lbs he weighed too much. I was met with call after call stalling for weeks claiming all kinds of lies. They made claims my heart cath. results showed I had a blockage. I immediately called cardiologist and was told that whoever was reading the results, isn't reading the report correctly, as I have no heart issues. Then AAA claimed they couldn't get the mammography information, especially previous reports . So I sent them the copy of the report showing everything was compared and normal from 4 months ago. Today I got a call stating that they are offering me a policy for approx. $210.00 !!! I insisted on speaking to a manager, as I had twice before, so far no one is available. I am so disgusted. This is a real bait and switch in my book, the assurances of an assured rate of $142, apparently an outright lie. Save yourself much aggravation, take the non physical rate, better still Go elsewhere. I hope this helps you. read more
