AAA, a must have! I recommend the Premier membership instead of the standard. If something unfortunate does happen it usually doesn't happen within a couple miles of a garage! So for the extra money it's wise to carry the Premier card. Nice, helpful and informative staff. The office wasn't busy at the time we stopped so our visit was quick and easy. Do not come here for PennDOT DMV services. They advertise as such but they are not. They will charge you a $5 AAA service fee to get your license renewed. I also witnessed several people who were misinformed at the receptionist desk about the services they provide and had an hour of their Saturday completely wasted in a waiting room. Do not go to this location. Lesson learned. To the AAA management at this location- You all need to be fired and replaced with respectable, intelligent people because after reading these reviews, I'm even more annoyed than I already was. read more

I've used AAA this location for several years but lately this office is a JOKE!! Went in 2/27/2025 and only about 4 people there. The employees were acting like school kids and the driver license picture area was closed in the middle of the day. Now, couldn't at least ONE employee see that I was basically the only one there yet couldn't complete my simple drivers license!! To sum it up, do what Trump is doing with layoffs....fire the dead wood in this place!!! read more

As a long time member - over 44 years - I always had courteous and friendly office personnel, and I might add that I got to know the staff over the years pretty well. Today's experience broke to mold - the courteousness was out the window. I was there to register a car. My experience was a total disaster. The young man at the reception counter was downright rude. I was asked if I had Form with the car verification. I never heard of such form, especially since I had registered a car last year, where nobody asked me for that form. He handed me the Form MV-41 to be verified and signed by a PennDOT approved business. After having had the form signed by my car inspection station, I returned the the AAA office once again to deliver the form. Than I was very rudely told that I did not complete the (bright yellow) Dmy Checklist. To which I replied that I didn't know that that form need to be completed also. The young men replied very rudely, that the previous person should have told me. Surprise ! I told him that HE was the person to do so. No reply from him, no apology nothing - he just proceeded to turn his attention the the PC. But, let me end this on positive note, and the extreme courteous attention I got from Amanda Stewart a few weeks ago, she even recognized my long term membership and thanked me for it. She than said that that kind of loyalty should be rewarded and presented me with wonderfully warm blanket (still in the bag). Was there today to have my license renewed. I have to admit that after reading a lot of the bad reviews left here, I was dreading it. From the time I walked in the door until walking out I was greeted with very pleasant employees. The girl at the front desk was exceptionally nice, checked me in and then escorted me to the photo part and sat me right down to have my picture taken. Gentleman taking my photo was very nice and explained everything as he was doing it. They both used my first name when talking to me, as if I was an actual person and not just a number. I was in and out in 15 minutes. I can be a very critical person, but I was very pleased with my experience here today. read more

There are a lot of people working here, but it's disorganized, very unprofessional and a lot of the staff seem to essentially just be hanging out. You can wait and and wait as various employees chat among themselves, do extraneous work or engage in personal business. Called to see about it, might be able to get an answer if someone would answer the phone or if I could even leave a voicemail. I sold two cars there last week. It was the slowest most agonizing experience I have experienced selling a car. Literally any reputable used car dealer could do this 3 times as fast. Some of it seems to be the archaic systems they have in place like hand written log books and lots of copying forms that should be fill in the blank on the computer. Newbie to PA and Pittsburgh and, as such, needed to get license plate. Driver's license was a cinch at 9:30am on a Saturday at the Penn Hills Shopping Center location so now let's see what it takes to get a license plate. AAA? Never heard of them being an option in the states I lived in. Hmmm... Ok. Arrived and realized I forgot my marriage certificate to show my name change on my title. Ok, headed back home then back here. No problem. It was before 10:30am on a Saturday and only one person in front of me both first and second arrival times. A kind, helpful receptionist made sure I had all my documentation (proof of PA insurance, car title, marriage certificate for proof of pre-married name on title, PA driver's license), instructed me to park in a special parking spot so they could get my VIN to make sure it matched that on my title, and directed me to the next station. The next station wait was minimal -- one person in front of me. Plus, there were several representatives (maybe 4 or 5) working for various purposes (one trip tik was in progress (people still do that???)). My representative was helpful, polite, and efficient. More importantly, I have my new plate (still sitting on my passenger seat 6 days later) and a new title is on its way with little pain dollar-wise and time-wise. I came here to get my registration renewed, and the staff was stellar from the start. From the receptionist that checked me in, to the agent the helped me, everyone was a. They were dealing with a rush of customers, maintenance issues, and just a downright gloomy day, but we're still cordial and efficient. I'll certainly come back here for all my AAA-related vehicle needs, even though it's a bit far away from home. 10/10 read more

I bought a car in Ohio and needed to get PA plates. I had never been to this AAA location, but I heard it was a convenient way to get car stuff done without having to wait in line forever at the DMV. I have to say that this office saved me a trip to the DMV (which is always an adventure) but it was not much of a step above the DMV. When we entered, the receptionist was on her cell phone. She did greet us with a smile, but proceeded to take a phone call ON HER CELL PHONE while she was waiting on us. Way to be professional. All that aside, she was very helpful. The receptionist guides you to either the auto side or the travel services side. After checking in, we headed over to the auto side. It was 5:30 on a Friday evening and the office was open until 7. There was about 15 people waiting ahead of us and things did not appear to be moving quickly. It doesn't help that the waiting area was fairly uncomfortable and unflattering. It was pretty crowded and noisy and the chairs weren't very comfortable. It took about an hour and a half between arrival and getting the plates. Not great, but better then having to take time off from work to do it at the DMV. read more

We had a very difficult time registering our vehicle from outside PA. We went to other AAA branches with a DMV and got wrong info every time. After four attempts, someone recommended the Monroeville location. They were so on top of things. They knew exactly what needed to be done and helped us get our vehicle registered. Mary was very competent and helpful. I will return there every time we need vehicle registration work done. They were exceptional. read more

I don't think there could be a worst example of customer service than what I experienced at this location! Linda seemed more concerned with getting off the phone than listening to what I needed, verifying my information, or providing ANY service. Seems AAA is good for towing or roadside only, because if Linda is the first line in customer service for vehicle registration (or anything other than letting her get off the phone to get back to what she was doing) avoid these folks at all cost!!! read more

I went to get another easy pass for a new vehicle that we had purchased. The lady at the front desk directs me to the waiting area to wait for my name to be called. After a short wait the lady calls me over to her desk. I tell her what I needed and she tells me the cost. I hand her my credit card and she runs it telling me loudly your card is declined. I know this cannot be true so I ask if maybe the strip on back is bad and she says no I entered it manually and the problem is your account. I call company sitting at her desk and they inform me that security was entered incorrectly. I tell her and she runs card again ( still with an attitude) and it works fine. I feel at this point she would apologize or change her attitude but not a chance. Poor customer service!!! read more

This is a busy but efficient AAA location! It was very hectic after work when I stopped by a couple weeks ago. However, the front desk receptionist quickly helped me and referred me to another part of the office. Sadly, I needed Europe travel books, and they had only one very broad option which cost $8. I ended up ordering more specific books on Amazon. However, I recommend this AAA for US travel as they seemed to have a lot of free maps and guides for national travel. read more

I came to come to this AAA two times, once to get my license renewed, the other to change my address on my license. The first time I came up early on a Friday, I told them why I was here they came me a ticket with a number on it and told me to wait til my number was called. Almost as soon as I sat down they called my number. They took another picture for my license, had me sign my name and that was it. I think was there for only about ten minutes. It couldn't be simpler or quicker. The second time when I had to get my address changed. I got there around mid afternoon on another Friday. The process was pretty much the same, only this time though it took a lot longer waited almost a half hour to get my name called. Then once my name got called in took around fifteen minutes to get my address changed. Now the employees were nice and the process was still very easy. Just took a lot long the second time. So depending on what time you go, it could either be quick or take awhile. Still a pretty decent AAA to go to. read more
