I had been searching for a massage therapist in the area for a few years! Probably once or twice a year I would do a thorough search all over the internet for a massage place that was nearby - always with so-so results. Either the place didn't look great, or the location wasn't great, or it was questionable - always an issue. Aaduri Healing Arts happened to be running a promotion through a local animal rescue where a portion of a massage would be donated. Being a huge animal activist, and seeing that the location was close, my husband and I decided to give it a try. And we have now become regulars. The location is convenient to NE Baltimore, Nottingham, Overlea, Parkville, etc. It is a quiet location and the work that Kim has done to the location is amazing. It is just a peaceful, calm place. And! - free parking, which is pretty much unbeatable when in Hamilton. She always starts out asking if there is a problem area you need work on and will go from there. We are not hard to please, but we can be picky when it comes to massages. We want to leave feeling like something actually happened. And we both walk out of there feeling tremendously better - relaxed, my posture is better, just generally feeling great. Also, having gone to some other small places, and having looked into big and small alike - the prices are very competitive. If anyone were to ever ask for a recommendation, I would absolutely recommend Kim and Aaduri Healing Arts. My other recommendation: spend the extra $20 and get a 1 1/2 hour massage rather than just an hour. It makes such a major, major difference. For those of you who also like to support small, local businesses - here's your chance. As an added bonus - you can book online, which is super convenient. THOROUGHLY pleased with my massage here. I purchased a deal last year but wound up having surgery so had to delay cashing in on my deal by a few months. I sent an email to the owner (Kim) and she contacted me back immediately and was knowledgeable about the amount of time to wait before having a massage after the type of surgery I had. If you're not familiar with the area you'll miss it so just look for the McDonald's at the intersection of Harford Rd & Moravia and park in the parking lot immediately to the left of the McDonald's lot. The building right next to it houses Aaduri along with Chef Mac's and a few other businesses. My appointment was with Linda. When I saw her athletic build my first thought was-with that athletic build she's GOT to be a hiker! My second fearful thought was-she's going to snap me like a twig! Fortunately, she did anything but! Her technique was extremely thorough and relaxing. Normally, I make it a point to stay awake during massages so I can enjoy feeling the stress leave my body but Linda's massage had me fighting sleep like a baby in bedtime denial. I think after about 45 minutes of fighting I shamefully gave in during the last few minutes and lapsed into pampered slumber. Yes, it felt THAT good. Kudos to Linda for a great job, I'll be sure to book her on my next visit. I had a bad massage experience with a massage therapist who I will refer to as "E." Her repeated comments about my tightness (I lost count of how many times she mentioned how tight I was) made me feel self-conscious about my body. She even asked if I had been in an accident and when I replied no, she seem not to believe me. It got so bad that she eventually noticed I was getting upset and asked me what was wrong. I explained to her that her comments were not helpful and that I am very aware of how tight I am...this is why I came for a massage. She then replied: "sorry, I won't say anything else." I was taken aback by her defensive response (i guess she was the only one that was allowed to offer cutting observations and my role was to take her sharp comments in silence)-- I have received many massages and she, out of all the therapists I have been to, completely failed to convey qualities that I think make a therapist effective: warmth, empathy, and communication. At that point, I realized that she could not honor/respect my body. She saw me as damaged. I ended the massage, but still paid her the full amount. I notified the owner of my experience and she responded in a positive manner (hence the 2 star rating). She asked me to come back but I chose not to: my experience with "E" left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I ended up trying Aaduri Healing Arts because my husband purchased a Groupon for me, and I am so, so glad he did. I was welcomed the minute I walked through the door. The waiting area boasts comfortable chairs, relaxing music, Eastern decor, and a tabletop fountain - which helped me to relax right away. Not to mention, the place smells heavenly! I had a 1-hour aromatherapy massage with Vanessa. I can honestly say that it was the best massage I have ever received. Yes, she helped me to relax, but more than that, she actually helped my body feel better. Before the session, she asked me if I had any problem areas. My neck was particularly sore and I made that need known. Once I was on the heated massage table (a nice bonus!), she started the session by compressing my entire body with her hands. She explained that she was trying to feel for any tension. She asked what kind of pressure I preferred and if there was any body part that she could not touch. With a general understanding of my needs and my body, she began the treatment. She intuitively seemed to know when I needed a firmer or more deep touch. She also helped me with passive stretching throughout the session. Towards the end of my session, and after she had already worked on my neck, she was massaging my feet. She asked me if my neck was still sore, because she could sense it in my feet. I was honestly relieved to have her ask, because it still was a bit sore. She then returned to my neck, going deeper, and helping me to stretch it out. Finally, I felt like I had some relief. Once our session had concluded and I was dressed again, Vanessa took the time to show me some stretches for my neck that I could do throughout my day to help with the pain. I was very appreciative of this extra touch. I would definitely recommend Aaduri Healing Arts. I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

I've been seeing Shari' here for about a year and a half after dealing with shoulder pain from being rear ended. She is absolutely incredible and really understands how the body works. She teaches about massages as holistic health instead of a luxury, and is great with telling you which areas of your body have stored up tension. She makes sure you are okay throughout. I generally don't even like being touched, but am always comfortable to the point of being half asleep during my massage. The building is cozy and tranquil, but small enough that you will miss it if you aren't paying attention. They often have great deals on their website. Would definitely recommend this place if you are feeling nervous about your first massage or looking for a clean, professional place to visit. read more

I've had a few overseas where the therapist puts everything into it - their whole body and Kim does the exact same thing. When I arrived Kim took the time to sit down with me and ask about my ailments, focus areas and level of intensity that I like in a massage. I met Shari at a previous position with a chiropractor. I had always felt weird about being "naked" with a stranger touching me! She was providing chair massages for 10 min each and offered to let me try it. I always loved her demeanor and working with her. The chair massage convinced me to give a table massage a try! Since I have been to Aaduri Healing Arts, LLC, 5 or 6 years ago, I have remained a monthly client. I was educated on the benefits of massage, and while I didn't have any particular ailments, I became a monthly client quickly. I use massage as a form of preventative care & swear by it. About a year ago, I began experiencing monthly migraines and between a monthly massage (or more) and an increase in magnesium (through a lotion she lets me bring to my appointments), I have been migraine free for months! Went for a "Deep Tissue" massage with Linda. Terrible experience. The massage was nowhere near the intensity I wanted. If REAL deep tissue massge is a 10 on a scale of 1-10, this was a 2.....maybe, Top that off with the fact that she was sick and I had to listen to constant, lets just call it nasal fluid congestion, for the entire 90mins.
