Got a call back around 10:30 and Joshua showed up around 12:30. He went up on the roof and replaced the missing patch of shingles. All was done by 1:30. Given the forecast for considerable rain tonight and tomorrow, I am very relieved. I couldn't be more pleased with Fivecoat Roofing. They do good work and stand by it. You can't ask for more or better service.

It was weeks of trying to avoid doing contractual work, add fees, calling me names, hanging up the phone on me before the first crew finally walked off of the job in front of the company owner. No apology provided to me, but after significant negotiation they did agree to hire a subcontractor to fix their work. Unfortunately this meant that they sanded their texture work and did not seal the ductwork first and refused to put up plastic in the doorway. I had to put up plastic and then spent 30 hours cleaning my home once I figured out what the air quality issue was. I have a disability and am prone to respiratory infections which is what I was diagnosed with following this event. The new crew told me that the soffit the previous crew built was too crooked to fix but I wouldn't notice it. They decided that they completed the project and the problem was the ductwork underneath the soffit. They want thousands more to replace my ductwork and build a new soffit. I cannot find their electrical license online although they did electrical work. The light fixture they installed will not turn off and they will not hire an electrician to fix their work. This was supposed to be a home modification project to help my disabled son--a fact that they have had no regard for throughout the project.

But other than attending an initial "getting started" meeting, H&H management was completely absentee. Calls to inform them of issues usually went nowhere. The crew that did the hanging and taping did a great job. The work of the texture crew, however, was a complete mess. The crew didn't really know how to do what I had asked for, and H&H management was no help. In the end, I had to spend an entire week sanding and re-texturing to make the work acceptable.

Ted fixed it promptly, for a very reasonable price, and without trying to upsell. Several other companies were strongly pitching massive scopes of work (for example, full replacement of siding on one side of the house). The job was made more complicated by the solar panels installed on the patio roof, and Ted and his team were able to efficiently and safely work around them (protect the panels with foam and avoid having to remove the panels and re-install, resulting in significant savings for me). This was a very positive experience, I found Ted to be highly professional and a great communicator. If I need roofing or siding repair or replacement needs in the future I will certainly reach out to Peak Exterior! Highly recommended.

The problem turned out to be one JBC could not repair, but our interaction would prompt me to highly recommend JBC.

We recently had a roof leak due to the cover of an attic vent slipping off on our roof. Had some…read moremoderate water damage to one wall in our master bedroom. Called JBC and they came out almost immediately. Mark (I think was his name) went up on the roof and took a look. He nailed the cover back in place and inspected the area around it. He said there was no other damage that he could see and that the roof looked pretty good. He also said that while JBC doesn't do sheet rock work, they could refer us to a business they contract with. We told him we'd get back to him as soon as we got our insurance settlement. JBC also gave us a quote for cleaning and sealing the roof, applying moss retardant, cleaning the gutters, etc., and we are just about ready to call and schedule a date. If we are happy with their work, we will call the in the spring to discuss having a new roof put on. Stay tuned for another review.
