I was looking to hire an attorney to update my estate planning for my families trust. I started completing the initial paperwork sent from her office. The "client information sheet" clearly stated "There will be no charge for this review of your estate and we will give you our recommendations (and their costs) at that time." Before my appointment, I called to confirm their cost of services. I received an email from the attorney informing me that I was going to be charged $300 an hour for the initial consultation. I replied by cancelling the appointment. In response to the cancelled appointment, the attorney emailed "good riddance" as her reply. I could not believe it. What type of attorney would actually put that in writing? Between the "bait and switch" and the unprofessional response, I would not trust this attorney with my estate.
