Some restaurants insist on unnecessary fuss and frills, but sometimes the best experience results from simply being made to feel at home. With delightfully pleasant decor, friendly surroundings and down-to-earth hosts, Aaron Lodge lets you dine well in good company. Starters impressed, with a selection that was varied and enticing. We began with deeply delicious goat's cheese tartlet offset by an exquisite red onion chutney that coaxed out every creamy hint of flavour. The mains were an even greater revelation. The perfectly cooked duck breast slices on their bed of lightly seasoned salad were declared delicious, even before uncovering the delightfully tangy noodles beneath. Our meal climbed to even greater heights, as the five-variety cheeseboard offered a decadent close to an already great meal. Superb.
