I advise anyone to use caution with this dentist. I had to get a tooth extraction which resulted in…read moreimmediate complications. I followed all after treatment instructions, however I suffered worsening pain as time went on. 7 days after the initial extraction I went back due to this pain. He did find a small tooth fragment lodged in the gum which he removed. He stated that he could not see any sign of dry socket but he did not rule out the possibility. He told me there was nothing he could do if it was dry socket. The following day I returned as the pain was still severe and I was fearful of an infection forming. He reiterated that he did not see dry socket, he took some x rays and could not confirm an infection. Once again, he did not rule either of these things out and told me there was nothing he could do for me, aside from agreeing to prescribe antibiotics. He forgot to send that prescription in, which led me to find a new dentist at a different dental practice the following day, as I needed a second opinion. The second dentist was able to confirm that I had dry socket. He offered me two treatment options and sent me home with an antiseptic to keep the area clean. After two days on oral antibiotics and regular antiseptic cleaning, another large tooth fragment pushed its way to the surface of my gum from the area in which I was worried about infection. It appears that the dentist from Copper Mountain Dental left behind a few fragments of tooth. I suspect this is what prevented the blood clot from forming and led to dry socket. Having the remaining fragment push to the surface once I started antibiotics leads me to believe this was causing an infection. I am very concerned and disappointed by the fact that I was told there was nothing he could do to help me, given that healing began rather quickly once I started antibiotics and the second dentist cleaned it and sent me home with something to keep it clean. At the very least, this is negligent and irresponsible in practice. I will never go back as long as I can help it.

He was kind, compassionate, taking a full history, providing alternative options, never bristled when I needed a second opinion. I want to clone this man. If I ever become Oprah wealthy, I will fly him all over the world to be my personal dentist. For now, I have to suffer through another horrible dentist while outside of the great state of Montana.
