The Staff was very helpful and knowledgable about every detail of my care. The food was very satisfying and the staff was constantly working to get your food and special requests that you may want right and timely. I just want to thank all the people that made my stay easy. Mom told the care planner that she wanted to go to Four Chaplains. Her planner tried her hardest to convince mom to go to one of THEIR rehab centers. Mom wouldn't listen to them. She held out for Four Chaplains. She's never been happier than she has been here. Mom's been to 6 different rehabs, repeatedly and this will always be here.

My wife and I had a fantastic PCP that we have been with for almost 15 years but had to find a new one after moving to the Livonia area. We researched a number of doctors in the area and ended up booking appointments at Better Health Clinic, which has ended up being a great decision. The office is clean and contemporary and we have always been greeted promptly upon entering. The staff are friendly, outgoing, and are always willing to assist. It's obvious form their behavior that they enjoy working for Dr. Hasan, which translates into a good patient experience. Dr. Hasan takes the time to listen to his patients and also asks relevant questions in order to provide the best care. They have Saturday hours on the first Saturday of the month and they accept walk-ins, which is rare nowadays. Overall, my wife and I have been extremely pleased with Dr. Hasan and his staff and can recommend, without hesitation, his office to anyone that may be looking for a PCP.

Even when she wasn't assigned to her, she would make a point to stop in, check on her, and spend time talking with her. She consistently encouraged my mom to push herself in order to get better, always with kindness and compassion. Dawn truly cared for my mom as if she were her own family member. She held her hand during difficult procedures, gently washed her hair at the bedside, and brought moments of laughter and comfort during a very challenging time. She is an incredibly hardworking and dedicated caregiver who goes far beyond expectations. I truly believe she played a significant role in my mom's recovery. Specialty Services is lucky to have someone like Dawn--and so were we.

A mixed bag review for Select Specialty Hospital located in St. Joe's Ypsilanti. This place made…read morelots of promises but delivered on few the first go around but they did much better on the second time we needed to use them. When my dad needed an acute care center to rid him of his trach tube and to help him with his physical therapy beyond what the hospital could do, this place came highly recommended. With a patient/nurse ratio of 2 to 1, we felt that my dad would get the care he needed. We were put on a wait list to get in and after a few days my dad was transferred in. Unfortunately, on the first stay- they really didn't do anything that they said there were going to do so he left exactly the way that he went in. Where was the trach rehab, where was the physical therapy? And why were they pushing him out before anything had been done for him? On his next stay, my dad's health was worse and it was during this stay that I actually thought he got great care . . . .like I expected the on the first go around. One nurse in particular, Georgane, stood out. She was great with my dad, asking about who he was before he was sick, and really taking the time to do what needed to be done with him. She seemed to genuinely care. Also- the social worker who was assigned us was very helpful in the end when we were looking for hospice care. She found a hospice that believed in what we did and it made the transition to home care very easy. This is the newest of the Select Specialty care locations so the rooms are mostly private and the place is clean and new with all amenities like flat screen TV's, decent chairs and large windows. If we hadn't had such a bad go around the first time- this would have been a 4 star review for sure.

The process started out great. The care community my relative is in approached me last fall about…read moreguardianship for him. From there, the community social worker contracted with SCN to take over the process and I was contacted by their simply amazing and caring social worker, Brittany, who interviewed my relative (in person) and me (also in person) along with a Guardian ad Littem from the court (who also met with my relative and with me). The GAL submitted a "thorough report" as to why I should be nominated. As the process moved along, the concerns I initially had about becoming guardian (animosity of another family member who felt he should be named) were alleviated and I looked forward to the court hearing...that is, until less than 24 hours before the hearing. I tried contacting Brittany to make sure we were all set for the hearing, but I didn't get a response back, which was unusual as I had been in touch with her for several weeks. Then, that afternoon, I received a "text message" from SCN, telling me that Brittany was no longer employed by them but to expect another social worker at the court the next day who would be familiar with the case and everything was a "go". That would have been fine, had I known who to look for and had we had a minute to meet and go over a few details before the hearing. Instead, when I got to court, I knew no one there. No one approached me...so I sat in the back waiting for the case to be called and/or the social worker who was supposed to meet me there, approach me. I admit, I was intimidated as I had never been to court before. It was only at that moment, when the case was called by the judge, did I see the new social worker assigned. She (the newly assigned social worker) sat next to me. The family member I was concerned about was seated next to me on the other side. Now, I was really intimidated. The social worker never said a word in court, and I had been depending on her (originally Brittany), as we had discussed for weeks, how we would proceed, that she would also speak on my behalf (as to why I was nominated as guardian, etc.) This new social worker said "nothing", not a word to me, but "Hi"and not a word in court. I was dumbfounded, confused and afraid to speak up in court when the judge called on me. This never should have happened like this, given the circumstances as to why I was nominated in the first places. I felt as if I had been hung out to dry. I was speechless. The end result was that my relative (who is in LTC) now has a guardian appointed (the family member he did not prefer and the GAL report was clear as to why). It's sad how it turned out for the ward, my relative. Worse, SCN never even contacted me after the hearing. The "GAL" contacted me and was equally dumbfounded as to how this turned out. Disappointing, to say the least.

Their selections were excellent, making us feel we were doing the very best for her. Once we made our family decisions based on their advice, they took care of negotiating the best prices and arranging all the paperwork for smooth transitions. While all their services were invaluable to us, perhaps the most appreciated aspect was the connection they made to us as a family with conversations and visits to alleviate fears and keep us all buoyed. Every member of our family was impressed with the way their staff reached out to us and how they were always ready to advise and assist whenever we needed them. We'll be forever in their debt.
