We started at Abba's House in January 2015 when my oldest was 3 months old. My youngest then started in October 2018. We left the daycare in March 2019. Over our 4 years at Abba's I've seen 4 directors, each one fired or forced out by either the church or the business director. The teachers are all phenomenal and my oldest has learned so much over the 4 years. I give them all the credit! I think there is a huge disconnect between the director (every director) and the teachers. Communication between management and the teachers and the parents is awful. There used to be a Parent's Group that would fundraise for supplies for the teachers that the daycare was unable to provide, and they would also hold events for the children and families. The previous director, Lisa, wanted funds from the Parent's Group to purchase a curriculum for the daycare, something that the Parent's Group felt was a vital part to the daycare and should be purchased with tuition dollars, not fundraising dollars. Because she did not get the funds she wanted, she closed the Parent's Group's bank account and gave the funds to the president. Those funds were then used to purchase over $2,000 of classroom supplies for the daycare and the Parent's Group then disbanded. The latest director, Heather Roberts, has totally flipped the daycare upside down. I feel she's on a war path. Countless teachers have been fired, or have quit since she has taken over in September 2018, and dozens of families have left the daycare now. The number of children is dwindling that in classrooms that used to be full, they can now combine two or more rooms together and leave some classrooms totally empty all day. They are also needing to combine classrooms because they don't have enough teachers to cover each of the rooms. The director and assistant director are in classrooms all day, every day in order to stay under ratio. In December, we received notice that the tuition was increasing drastically. Tuition for my two children was increasing more than $120/month, a 7% increase. The handbook that we have states that the tuition increase will be based on the cost of living increase set by the government, which this year is 2.8%. 7% is a far cry from 2.8%. Over the past 6-7 months that Heather has been at the daycare she has broken/violated a number of policies set by the daycare and laid out in the handbook. When approached about it, they change the policy and send out a notice that it changed and the handbook is being updated. She feels she can do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. I wholeheartedly believe that they are using the huge tuition increase to help pay for the new indoor gym/dome. The tuition increase, unfortunately, does not go to the teachers and they deserve it! I have never agreed with the lack of separation between the daycare, C3 sports, and Christ Community Church. The tuition for the daycare should be remaining in the daycare to pay for things that the children and teachers need. Teachers are constantly purchasing their own supplies for their classroom. The director states that teachers are not expected to purchase their own supplies, but if teachers request things and they are denied due to lack of funds, their options are to either 1) go without, or 2) purchase it themselves. So, while they may not be expected to purchase their own, if you are going to deny them constantly then they will end up buying it themselves. It is very unfortunate that the administration at the daycare can't get it together. I feel their greed, unprofessionalism, and arrogance will push even more families to other daycares and they will not be able to stay in business. I would have loved to have my youngest at the daycare as well, and have my oldest continue there until she started kindergarten, but as much as I absolutely love the teachers, I cannot get on board with Heather and her mindless war path and her terrible treatment of the teachers. I cannot trust that policies will not change on a whim and I've grown tired of the greed from the church. read more

We had a terrible experience in another daycare in town and had to pull out our baby on the first day. Since we did not have our son on another waiting list and our town is notorious for a long wait for childcare we had to turn our lives upside down to arrange care while another spot opened. In this process other daycare places that seemed good also fell through and were inconsistent.with their enrollment availability. Finally a friend pointed us to Abba's House. We are absolutely in love with the place. The care, accountability and access is above and beyond. We are extremely impressed with the teachers in the infant room and how much love they have for every single child in their care. Their option of cameras throughout the day let's you check in on your little one and every single time you log on you see those teachers treating their kiddos with love, care and playfulness. We are very happy to remain with Abba's House for the long haul of our son's care. Special shout out to Carolyn, Brittany and Paula. They simply love what they do and it shows. read more

Now that I have removed my son from the daycare I feel I can give an honest review. Abba's house always had a good reputation which is why we originally chosen it. Although the teachers are still amazing, I wish I could take most with, since the change in administration in both the daycare and Christ Community church it really has begun to go downhill due to what I feel to be greed. In the past year alone tuition increased twice by more than $40 each time, they at one point had signs posted stated teachers and parents are responsible for all classroom supplies, and want to charge more for toddler lunches than I currently pay for a high school kid. This last time they gave us about a two weeks' notice that our very NEXT tuition payment would be increasing a significant amount (right at Christmas time). I could understand if those amazing teachers benefitted from these increases at all but they did not see a dime from either increase. I found whenever I tried to speak with the director of ABBA's house or the administration in the church that runs the program they have been rude, dismissive, and dishonest. When I questioned the lunch program the daycare could be in that would allow for free meals I was told we tried that parents didn't like it..umm sure. When I questioned the increases and where all the money is going since NOTHING is covered. I emailed the pastor and received a response from what I believe is an assistant that is trying to claim 70% of the money goes to payroll and they have very little left to make their bills. Yet teachers make very little and are not receiving and increase of any kind and are expected to cover classroom supplies. I also find it hard to believe they have little to make bills but can afford a fancy new indoor soccer arena, parking lot expansion, and brand new under armor uniforms for the church staff. We also received a letter with the last minute increase that if you do not pay the bill on the last day of the month do not bring your child back the next day. Which is fine expect for they frequently have the billing messed up and it can take weeks to track down someone that can correct it and/or take payment. When another parent expressed on her personal facebook the frustration of having to correct billing all the time the director of ABBA's house got onto another teachers account (that was friends with the parent) and began making rude comments to both that parent and her friends. Telling the parent "but don't we always take care of your child" and one of her friends "who are you do you even have kids here". I was floored but the level of immaturity I saw from the director in that situation simply because a parent was venting on her own facebook about valid frustrations. This greedy and rude behavior has lead to increase frustration both among the parents and teachers. Given administrations rude and dismissive behavior I just continue to see this entire program go downhill. It is a shame to see what was such an amazing facility with absolutely amazing teachers, begin to succumb to such awful greed and dishonesty. Especially from a "Christian" facility. read more

Abba's House is a wonderful place. I have two boys that currently attend there and have been attending for a few years now. The teachers are passionate about their jobs and provide a safe environment for children to grow. We have had a great experience from the infant rooms the whole way through pre-k. The facility offers a large basketball gymnasium for kids to play in during the winter, which most daycare's don't have. I leave my two sons and have zero concerns that they're being taken care of throughout the day. read more

I would not recommend this daycare to anyone as long as the people in charge remain in charge. We loved it last year, but since then it is on a downward slide. The director takes no responsibility despite her position as the face of the daycare. Her entire attitude is completely unprofessional. For example, she told my husband that if we do not like the daycare, then we should leave and then hung up on him. As well as, her attitude when we try to talk to her about concerns/issues she scoffs at you, gets all huffy, rolls her eyes, etc. She does not act like a person who has ever held this type of position before or worked with small children. Both the owner and she make excuses for everything that is a cause for concern. It is impossible to find resolution with them. And they never seem to be on the same page. There have also been frequent staffing changes which likely caused issues for the children, but rather than take responsibility for the daycare, the director and owner would rather blame the children. My son was in the pre-k room and after transferring to this classroom in September, it lost both teachers, which had half his class in two different preschool rooms. He remained in this preschool room for several months. They finally got another teacher for the pre-k room and he transferred back, but she quit a week after he transferred back. They got another teacher for the room, but a nasty letter was sent out to the parent's about the children's behavior being disruptive and that they could be sent home and removed from the school for a period of time. The director also seems proud of the fact that she has kicked out 3 children already since this letter was sent out. There are teachers there that make this place amazing, but unfortunately, the people in charge make it terrible. read more
