Between other family members I have probably been to at least two dozen area senior care centers (from alright to not acceptable). None of them come close to the care our mother has received here. I called many other facilities that had a continuum of care and they all said that our mother would be skilled nursing (because she requires help transferring and dressing) which would be $6,000+ per month for a shared one room. St. Agnes said they thought they could get her to improve and be more independent and they were right. Here she has her own studio apartment. They are genuinely concerned about all aspects (physical, mental and spiritual) of our mother's wellbeing. She has been here only a month and we have already seen a physical and mental improvement in her. The nuns are very compassionate and coordinate every aspect of her care.

When visiting ask how long each person in the office (not corporate people) have been working there. There were only 5 techs/RA's that really have a darn about my mom and they know who they are. They don't have enough staff to take care of the residents and when they hire, the correct training is not being given. I had to train the staff on how to care for my LO. When issues are brought up there is no follow up. Also there is no place outside for residents to go safely on their own besides doors that are too heavy for them to open. The food is the best of anyplace she had been at. Good luck getting any peace if your loved one ends up here as you will regret it.

What I observed at Dolan is reason for my reviewing. Some of Dolan staff at her house were lovely, but a lot were not. The turnover of staff very concerning, over 30 workers left within my moms short time. The head RNs that ran the house as well. There is a huge lack of training for dementia, huge lack of engagement with clients, a lot of TV time as well. The music people that come in 1-2x a week are excellent and probably best part and the girl who came maybe 1x a week for a craft was lovely and engaging. But the personal care I'd give a zero to. I told management, Steve and Tim Dolan these negatives I saw, numerous times I was visiting and there was NEVER any follow up or changes. Saw the same lack of engagement every visit, weekends being the worst. Beware before you sign your family member up. I think all houses may be different. I'd recommend talking to other families before you sign up, not families that Steve or Tim recommend , but random families. Stop in unannounced see what is really going on,. Beware there is only 1 staff person on duty at house for 12 hours alone with 10 elderly people. They also expect the caregivers to cook and clean WHILE they are supposed to be engaging with your loved ones which I found odd. I was there too many times where 5-6 people lined up in front of TV and the 2 person staff not to be seen. It s difficult job, but please do your homework on the Dolan house your family member will be living before you move them there.

For the amount of money they are charging these residents things should be much better than they are there. There's plenty of parking out front, and you have to have a code to get in. I like the safety of that for the residents. The ambience is lovely inside. It reminds me more of a hotel than a nursing facility. The staff seems to be on top of things and attentive to the needs of the residents. There was no strong smells, and the majority of the residents appeared to be dining at dinner in the dining room.

He treated me rather roughly as he without explaining what was about to happen as he put a diaper on me. The room was a joke. They're making a killing if they billed insurance more that a couple of bucks given the "room". Mark was hostile, but everyone else were "fine". I was given no orientation whatsoever. I began to fell very vulnerable, and frightened for my well being. I opted to sign myself out AMA, and had my family pick me up.

The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis (TRISL) is the place to have your loved ones if they need…read morespecific kinds of rehabilitation.  The care and therapy my mom received here was nothing short of wonderful.  In no time she was up and around, getting back to a routine that was normal to her.  Showering, using the restroom, talking on her phone, etc., all independently.  Not only did mom receive awesome care and therapy, so did we as a family.  We were updated, and kept abreast of all progress.  Our questions were answered with care and compassion which gave us peace of mind.  This place was clean and the staff completely welcoming.  I highly recommend TRISL for anyone who is in need of rehabilitation for their loved one.  Thank you, TRISL for doing everything you did to get mom home and living independently again.

Therapy equipment and staff were state of the art. The food was excellent. Responses were quick especially compared with the nursing home setting that I am in now. i would definitely recommend this facility.
